I have been tracking this Soundbar system from a few months now. Ever since I upgraded to the LG EVO C3 Oled TV, I have been having issues with my soundbar. Since the soundbar I had was a different brand from my TV, they didn't "talk" to each other very well. Every time the TV OS updated, it would take forever for the HDMI handshake between the soundbar and TV to complete the process. This meant waiting upwards to 5 minutes for sound to come out of the system. This all changed a week ago.
I want to start with the cons of this Soundbar first:
Not for those who are not tech savvy. This is not a “plug and play” system.
If you do not plug in each device in the proper order, nothing will sync together correctly. Here is the order: Subwoofer, back speakers, soundbar.
Once you have the system set up in your living room the way you want, the system needs an app for set up. This app in accessed through a QR code in the paper instructions. The Soundbar app is needed to connect the Soundbar to wifi. Once you connect to wifi, the app tells you to use LG ThinQ for everything else.
The full instructions are found on an additional QR code in the paper instructions.
Although not required for daily use, it is advised that you use the LG ThinQ app for controlling your soundbar.
Optical in and HDMI ARC/eARC share the same input on the Soundbar, which is not explained well.
WOW Orchestra does not automatically come on. You have to find a specific setting on your LG TV to activate this option.
You can connect devices directly to the soundbar. Unfortunately, you have to remember to change the input on the soundbar to HDMI in, and this locks you out from using WOW Orchestra.
Now for the pros of this system:
The LG ThinQ app gives you complete control of your soundbar. I prefer using it to the soundbar remote.
Going from a 5.1 to 7.1 surround sound system is game changing. This sound system makes you feel like you are in a “bubble” of sound.
Once set up properly, the LG TV and soundbar talk to each other effortlessly.
WOW Orchestra is fantastic, and is now my preferred choice when watching content or gaming.
The most obvious pro is no wires. Everything is wireless. It’s awesome!
If you want, you can utilize the wifi feature on the soundbar. This eliminates the need for an HDMI connection to the TV.
I admittedly almost gave up on this Soundbar and returned it. Thankfully, I stuck it out and forced myself to learn how the system works. Even with the negatives that I pointed out, this is the best sound system I have ever owned. It is a perfect companion to my LG TV!

Good mid tier soundbar. Movie dialogue is clear and the cinema mode gets good rumble from the sun and good effects. Dolby atmos is only two up firing speakers so it’s a lil weak. But overall really good sound for this price and tier.

Overall I’m pretty happy with the soundbar however I wish the two additional speakers provided a bit more sound. I know there’s likely a way I can adjust the settings via the app the help a bit and the speakers are more for background but for 7.1 speakers I expected better for the additional two speakers especially for the prove. At least setup was easy for an LG tv. If you have an LG tv I’d recommend this but you could probably find a better one for the price if you don’t.

I’m giving this 4 stars, but it could be 4.5 because for a sound bar, the sound quality and ability to make so many adjustments separates this setup from others. Could the powered sub be larger and punch more - sure, but at a cost. Movies and music plus the Wowcast all contribute to a very solid system. I have a very nice Bose setup in the movie room, and a very similar Samsung (larger sub) in the game room, but for the main viewing area paired with a LG B4 OLED, it is pretty sweet. If you want to spend $1800.00 - $2700 more for next level, that too would be nice, but for value, space, esthetics, and output, hard to beat this setup. When is enough enough? Only when it is!

The LG soundbar delivers clear, immersive audio with powerful bass, making it a great addition to any home theater setup. Its sleek design and user-friendly features add to its appeal. A solid choice for enhancing TV and movie sound quality.

This system sounds wonderful. It was a much needed inprovement from my ancient Sony soundbar i think came out around ‘Nam. It pairs well with the LG oled i have. The WOW orchestra function (which utilizes the tv speakers in addition to the system) really helps bring out speech and other audio which normally sounds muddy to me. The manual tells you to download the LG soundbar app and installs a firmware update which tells you after its done you must install the ThinQ app in order to actually control your soundbar so that was annoying and honestly im not sure its even necessary because I dont find it user friendly. It has an AI sound pro function which is supposed to automatically choose a listening mode to what you’re watching or listening to. In my experience this does not work well at all. I could be using it wrong or not understanding it but all it does for me is add what seems to be a delay or echo as if youre watching in a concert hall. All in all it functions and sounds amazing just seems like its added gimicks are unnecessary.

We only bought the soundbar because we are sick of the speakers being in the backs of the TV. The wall doesn't need to hear what we are watching and we constantly had to turn the volume up until the kids in their room could hear it better than we could while sitting in front of the TV. Now we are able to have the volume at acceptable levels. I didn't realize how much I wanted the surround sound. I have gotten up to see if there were vehicles in the driveway because of how realistic the sound quality is.

I love this system. I'm not some big sound nerd but I was ready for an upgrade and it goes very well with my LG TV due to the wow orchestra setting. I wasn't able to connect to the LG Thinq app at first and customer support said this model wasn't supported, despite the instruction manual telling me to link it to Thinq app. Well, I must have been in an awkward time to buy this system because I was able to link it to the LG Soundbar app which is being phased out and that allowed me to update the firmware. A couple days later, the soundbar app kicked me out without letting me use it due to being sunset and I went ahead and tried the Thinq app again like it suggested. It worked this time and it works very well with the newer app! Like I said, very happy overall BUT I wanted to share this in case anyone else struggles with the software part.

Love this set up. No audio wires; other than, the wires that goes to your power outlet. Wireless connectivity for the sub & rear speakers. Very rich in sound especially with WoW Orchestra.

Excellent quality and superb sound! Easy to setup, and compliments my 77’ Lg G4 perfectly. The Geek Squad came and set it up and I couldn’t be more satisfied by the finish outcome!

This soundbar is awesome. We have it paired to a LG C4 77 television.
The ability to pick different sound enhancements really improves the sound quality of older DVDs.
