We recently purchased a Macbook Air that doesn't have a CD drive, so this came in super handy. It's lightweight, easy to connect and disconnect. We have the cd drive when we want it, but don't always need to carry it around with us. Plus this being only about $30 is way cheaper than upgrading to a Mac with a cd-rom for almost $800-$1,000.

We purchased new All-In-One windows machines and didn't realize they no longer had rom drives. We needed something in a hurry and this works. We store it in a central location and workers are able to grab, plug in and use in Windows 8 at the blink of an eye. Of the brands available this was the best one and the ratings were off the charts.

I plugged this device into my dell all in one computer and it immediately started working. Comes with a cd/dvd software, but my computer didnt need it. Im surprised at how fast it works and the ease of the setup/use. I paid $37.50 for this device because it came as a bundle with my desktop. First LG purchase and I'm satisfied.

For the price its a good external device. Very easy to use and very easy to switch from one computer to another if needed because of its slim design and takes up very little space.

As most laptop users know (or are finding out), most of the new laptops and tablets do not come with internal CD/DVD drives. This is what got sacrificed in the quest for thinner, lighter laptops. But occasionally we still need a disk drive for installing new software or viewing movies or videos on disk. Voila! The solution is a lightweight external CD/DVD drive, like the LG reviewed here. It's very thin and light and packs away neatly in my laptop bag. Plus, it comes with a USB cable and installation disk. Works like a charm. Problem solved. So far, so good!

The cd player on my Mac no longer works and I needed an inexpensive replacement. This product covered the bill. I was looking at more expensive models and someone shopping recommended this product, it was inexpensive enough to try (1/2 the price the model I was looking at). It has met my needs well.

I love this little box, it is easy to take with and not a space issue when traveling. Was very surprised by the price, as I had priced them for much more in the past. It has worked well for my needs and I am so happy to have found it.

I bought this to go along with my MacBook Air that replaced my MacBookPro. I was bummed that the Air didn't have a CD drive but glad that this was a cheaper option. It is much cheaper than the Apple brand version and MUCH lighter. It will be easier to put everything into a carry-on when I travel.

This is a great little CD drive for anyone with one of the new small Intel based notebook touch pad combos that need occasional use of an optical drive. Its small and lightweight making it easy to store in a computer carrying bag. The setup was easy with Windows 8.1.

This cd/DVD drive is a good product. It runs well and does so on a decent amount of time. The only bad thing is its a little loud and initial setup takes awhile.

This is the first CD drive I've ever brought for a recent laptop purchase and I am very satisfied. It is light-weight, cheap, simple to set up, and runs quietly. I recently discovered that I can hook it up into my SMART TV and use it as a DVD player! I am very happy with this purchase.

This external drive is more than sufficient for the times I will need a drive and the price was great. I recently bought my first laptop (MacBook Air) without a built in drive and was a little concerned about that. However after using the LG drive one time, all concerns were eliminated!

Simple to use. Just plug it in and play. It's a shame a DVD driver is not included on pc's anymore. You are required to buy an external player in order to use your old software. But this was fairly priced. And easy to use.

Don't need the install CD, just plug in and instructions pop up. A little slow burning a CD/DVD but very worth it for the price. Very small and able to store in computer bag. Like it a lot.

I bought this external CD/DVD RW drive about a month ago but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I can only comment on the design at this point. It is very slim and seems very durable. Thin enough to put it in a slim laptop back and will not give the bag a bulky appearance.

I have an old TV and had no problems connecting the VCR/DVD recorder. It was easy to set up and plays old VHS tapes with clarity. I only gave it 4 stars because I have only used it to copy VHS to DVD and not to record from the TV using the timer.

I was using this External LG drive to RIP Karoake CD's since my older external drive would not RIP properly. Never had any errors reading, writing, nor ripping. Light weight and small. Would definitely recommend this drive especially for laptops that built without one.
