Wanted an affordable way to burn CDs when on the go with my MacBook Air so decided to buy this burner... its quick, quiet and as good or better than any built-in CD burner. Plus small and easy to take with me.

I bought this to use with my iMAC desktop as it does not have a built CD/DVD drive. I just needed it to rip CDs so that is all I have used it for. It works fine for that. It does make a bit of noise but it's half the price of a Apple unit.

Daughter has an Apple so was unable to burn DVD's or watch a video. She has loved this! It is easy to use and small for taking along. Works perfectly with her Apple

After I bought my new laptop without a CD/DVD drive, I realized I needed to get information from a CD. This sweet drive is just what I needed. I like the fact that it is slim and easily tucks into a drawer to store. It was easy to install and worked like a dream!

reasonably priced drive for the user that rarely needs a DVD drive and prefers a lighter machine without a built in drive. I only need a disc drive for occassionally installing a program and this was very inexpensive and works well.

I needed an external drive to load some software on my new iMac. After reading a number of reviews on this drive and apple's, I opted to try this one. For less than half the price on sale, I couldn't go wrong. Plug and play with no external power supply. Not having a power supply made me a little nervous, but it worked fine. It does not show up as a drive until you put a disc, but was recognized and worked great when I burned a test DVD. It's very light, almost seems a bit cheap. The tray pops open and also seems a little flimsy. I only wish it was a slot load like the apple, but for the price and little use, I couldn't go wrong.

Needed an external for a disc installation on a computer that had a busted dvd/cd drive. Program wouldnt copy over on a usb but this solved the problem! Worked great and still does! Also enabled me to buy a new laptop that didnt have the cd dvd drive.

We have an old computer that works really well but the CD player is unreliable. I bought this external player and it works perfectly. It is lightweight and compact and requires virtually no set up. I'm very pleased that it will extend the life of my PD!

I bought this to be able to play training DVD's on my laptop. Works great. Is small and lightweight which is convenient for carrying around for work. I have not tried to burn any DVD's yet so don't know how that part works...

Very Low price point, use for school (full time student) reliable. Looked online but this was the fastest way to get one. Compatible with MacBook Pro and X iOS

When I purchased my new laptop it did not come with an internal DVD drive. I have many DVDs that I intend to move to an external HD and this little external DVD was the perfect answer. It is compact, works perfectly and the price was just right.

After my Dell XPS laptop finally gave up the ghost, I began to lean heavily on a small notebook that I mainly used as something lightweight (long before tablets were so popular) for taking to classes. Having always used my laptop to burn CDs I thought I might have to bite the bullet and purchase another one when I needed to copy recordings for some of my kiddos at church. I went into Best Buy to see if there was a CD driver that would work even with a notebook. Hallelujah...they showed me the LG - 8x External Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive and I've been a fan of LG ever since! This could not have been easier to install and use immediately. I've had it for a year and a half and have yet to have any problems with blank and driver-loaded CDs being misread as not being loaded then ejected, as this was a common occurrence with my OLD laptop.

Small and great fit with my laptops, works very well and takes less space and read and write the way I wanted. Do not make any sound during it's playback time. Data transfer is also good. Slim design and very convenient to carry in the laptop bag.

Light weight, portable and functional. Just what I was looking for in an external drive. This is the first time that I've used an external DVD drive and I'm quite pleased with the ease and functionality of this product.

This DVD/CD -RW Drive was very easy to install on my HP Split x 2 laptop. Readily displays content on DVD for viewing and or printing. It is lightweight ( easily fits into my laptop bag) and does not require an additional electrical source to operate.

This does everything I need it to and it's convenient because I can store it anywhere and I can take it with me wherever I travel. I use it with my Mac Book Pro. Glad I purchased this DVD drive instead of the Apple brand. I saved lots of money!

Love it. So easy to use and spins up quickly. Why have a CD drive taking up space on your laptop when you hardly use it any more, but when you need it you have the ability to have one. Any you can also use it on multiple laptops as needed.

I got a new laptop that didn't have a dvd drive. I like the fact it is lighter and easier to handle. there are times you need a dvd drive though. This is a good one that works well it runs fast and is very compact and can be stored easly.

This external read-write CD/DVD drive works well, although somewhat noisey. Decent price. But it was the only one of this sort on the shelf -- no other brands with these specs, so no choice. Glad it works well.

I like how easy it was to install and use. Seems fast and reliable, hopefully it will last a long time. I just hate having to connect/disconnect when I want to burn or watch something. Otherwise, gets the job done.
