First time user, so not a whole lot of reference. But seems to work just fine so far. Took a while to install all the necessary software. And once I figured out the user menu, movie playing is great. Haven't tried burning yet, so that's all to be seen. But so far, so good.

I needed an external drive after I discovered that my newly bought laptop did not have one. This drive reads just about any disc which I've out in thus far(software, DVD, Blu-Ray) and has done great so far.

Drive works as expected. Has plenty of storage for my use. The drive has a couple of minor faults. The HDMI cable is way to short. The software has a glitch of a pop up window when starting the computer. Says add apps here, no apps to add. Also you have to close window.

simple plug and play operation. i wasn't going to get a blue ray drive, but for only a couple dollars more why not, you get all of the functionality of a standard dvd writer but you can not play blue ray movies on your pc. the included software is worth the install.

This is great because it works with the Surface Pro without purchasing additional usb plugs because it has the double usb loop necessary to prevent the issue with causing a power failure to the usb hub. The only issue I had with it is that the first Bluray I tried to play on it- Gone Girl, would not play on it and no matter what I went thru with trying to update the software for it, I could not get it to play. It just kept saying it needed updated. This made me think that the player was faulty and was very frustrating. All other Blurays I have played in it since have played.

I bought this bluray drive for my computer so I could transfer my bluray movie collection to VUDU. All of the movies that I had that were eligible transfered to digital copies through the VUDU site without issue. Very easy to set up and operate!

Now a days there is no optical drive in laptop any more, this is the perfect solution for home users, it is slim and light weight, DVD/CD both read/write at good speed and also have BD compatibility, works good with MAC and windows.

Meets all the expectations. Easy to set up and use via a computer. Set up instructions say it is compatible with a TV as a stand alone product but reading the fine print, it only displays pictures to a TV when bypassing the computer.

Needed a small burner for my new Ultrabook since they don't have them integrated anymore. This one is as close to the Apple SuperDrive as I could find and is doing a great job while still maintaining a small, thin profile.

Bought this drive for a trip. Was looking at portable media players for movies this worked better. hooked to my laptop and had great blue ray movies for the trip at a better price.

This DVD drive is simple to use and runs great on my Win10 laptop! Not too expensive, either, unlike some competitors.

Since Apple believes that no one is interested in CD/DVD/BluRays any longer and should be completely digital now - they do not include an option to have one in their newest computers. Given that, you are forced to buy an external drive to meet those needs. This is a great one for the price and recommended by the Apple Rep at Best Buy. I am using my old computer with iDVD to meet the software need, but may look into another software that is continued to be supported.

I bought an iMac 27 and the thing doesn't come with a hard drive because Apple wanted to make it super thin and of course didn't throw in a player in with it for $2,000 + dollars. So this guy who helped me at the store said this one plays Blu-Rays and it's better then what Apple sells because theirs is more money and it doesn't even play Blu-rays. I had to admit who watches normal format when HD is so in and I love watching in 1080 to 2160p when I can. This product does not work so well on the iMac. I rented a movie ( Hitman Agent 47) and it didn't play. I bought a concert and that played perfectly but I had to download a Leawo Blu-Ray player so it would work on the iMac. I think it may have to do with the fact that it doesn't work well with the software. I wish Apple made their products so you can watch Blu-Ray on their 4k and 5k displays. They have billions upon billions of dollars in CASH and can not or will not put in something as cheap as $60 to $80 dollars worth of equipment in their computer or sell one at least. Looks like I am taking my frustration out on Apple and rightfully so. Perhaps this LG is an amazing product and I don't know it. It may work really well on my DELL but I don't use that anymore. I may return it but I'm not sure. In ending....This LG product may work well but on a mac it doesn't, that I can assure you.

I bought this for the occasional download of music to our iTunes and general software installations. Works great on both Operating Systems.

Windows 8 plug and play no prob! Installed with no interaction. Easy and slim sits right next to the all in one and portable to a TV with USB.

With more and more laptops coming without a DVD drive, I had to get an external one. I wanted one that would be powered completely by the laptop because I carry too many power cords already. This one fits the bill. It prefers to use USB 3.0 but comes with a cable that allows it to be power by 2 USB 2.0 slots. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Great write and play speed and slim enough to fit in the case with a laptop, and now a days you need this just to play cds because laptops don't have players installed

The LG Blu Ray DVD/CD player/recorder has performed well. I have used it to copy much of my library so I can take my CD's from home. It is quiet and easy to use.
