Bought this phone when it was offered for $5/mo for 24 mo. With flagship specs, at that price, it was an absolute steal. Better then competition (S7): Duel camera on the back. Wide angle let's you capture so much at decreased resolution. IR blaster for controlling TV Removable battery Impressive bottom firing speaker Just as fast or faster than the other phones in it's class Larger screen than s7 Worse then competition (s7): Screen is not perfect with light bleed and limited brightness Slow motion is half of that of S7 No waterproofing Smaller single battery life (but exchangeable battery makes up for this) Overall great phone. I don't think it's as polished as the S7, but getting it for less than half the price as it made it worth it by a long shot.

LG G5 is a Great Phone

The LG G5 is a okay phone at full retail, a good phone at about half retail, and a great phone at quarter retail, bought it on sale, and it was a smoking deal! Screen size is perfect, not as small as 5 inch ones, but not as unwieldy as 5 and a half inch ones, right in the sweet spot, 5.3 inches. Dual camera set up is awesome, the wide angle camera doesn't have image stabilization like the regular lens, but the wide angle shots are just magnificent. The Android overlay by LG isn't bad at all once you get used to it, the drop down menus are super useful, and the built in LG quirks are really indispensable once you use them alot (knock to wake). The body, frame, and build quality are good, not great, the paint over the metal is kinda cheap feeling, and there is a tiny gap around the battery "door", I've had mine in a case since I took it out of the box, so I could care less, but if you run a naked phone, it's a little bit less than top shelf. Battery life is okay, 3.5-4 hours screen on time, but being able to swap in a fresh battery helps tremendously, if you don't have to take it out of the case, put it back in the case, and wait for it to boot back up, but it's nice to have a spare battery, when the original ones starts to maintain a less then optimal charge. Overall, it's a great phone when it's on sale, and a little less than great as the price goes up. I'd definitely buy one again, and for what it's worth, it's a minor upgrade from the G4.

Likes: --Sleek design. Fits nicely in my hands. Good weight. --Solid phone (not flimsy or cheap feeling). --Snappy performance when navigating menus, opening apps, etc. --Solid battery life for an Android. --Solid performance for core features (phone call, data connection, Bluetooth, etc.) Cons: --I'm not a fan of the power button on the back. Not convenient location for a fingerprint sensor. I don't pay much attention to things like camera quality on a phone so I can't comment on that. I did not keep this phone for long (less than 2 weeks), but not because of the phone itself. I simply returned to my Iphone. Android was not for me.

I love my new phone. It is so easy to use. Camera takes great pictures. Had the LG g2. Love that I can see the screen without my readers. Also like that I can put a memory card in it and that I got an extra removable battery.

While the LG G5 is one of the best performing smart phones that I've owned, it still has some issues that could be improved. I purchased the phone back in April so I've been using it for about 6 months now. The things that I'm happy with are processing speed for running apps, games, internet browsing and streaming video. In general, the photo and video quality great and you get crisp, smooth HD quality, though dark/night scenes are disappointingly grainy and blurry. The charging speed is super fast if you've got Quick Charge 3.0 or even 2.0 chargers and compatible USB-C cables. I was able to use a USB-C to HDMI converter to mirror the screen to my TV but Miracast also works well. I like the idea of hot swappable modules, but the only thing I've swapped so far is the extra battery that was included with my purchase as promotional item. The other modules are way over priced for what they offer in terms of functionality. What I don't like is that occasionally the phone gets hot and warms up in my pocket for no apparent reason. Not explode in your pocket hot like the Note 7, but that concern is always in the back of my mind when this happens. The battery also drains pretty quickly already which necessitates frequent charging or swapping of the battery; that'll not be fun over the next 1.5 years. The GPS is also a bit wonky and oftentimes it can't place me precisely on the map which is especially confounding for Pokemon GO and GPS directions. The size of the phone is fine. Not too big or small. I haven't had any big issues with it and it does what I need it to without a ton of frustration.

Upgrade from Note 3. Really enjoyed not needing to ever plug in my phone. Since it came with extra batter and charger. Screen is vibrant and large enough for casual video watching. Processor is fast enough for most apps and games. Haven't seen any slowdown with however many things I've ran at once.

I am done with Samsung. literally. Never again. I remember a time when they were competing with Sony, cut throat competition. Sony lost to Superior management, extreme dedication and better quality. How much Samsung domination lasted? about 10 years. In quality. Now their products are horrible. I knew I am not going to buy another Samsung again especially, after my LG G3. And I made a right choice. I absolutely love this phone! No unnecessary bloatware, fast, reliable, great design. Everything is great about this phone. Maybe video at concerts suck but hey, this is a phone not HD camcorder, right? So, buy it, forget about Samsung S7, go for this one. You will thank me later)

I upgraded to the G5 from the G2 with a HTC One in between. The G2 was superior to the HTC One in many ways, especially the camera, but this is even better. The phone is quick and precise to the touch, and the camera has been great. The dual lens on the back is great for when you can't get back any further, but want the wide angle to get more into the image. The only issue I have run into is the lens on the back of the camera. I keep the camera in my side pocket, like a lot of people, and don't know how it happened, but the glass on the back cracked. Luckily, it looks like an easy and cheap fix as this phone is easy to work on, and the glass is just glass, nothing more. Just a small warning for buyers, but still strongly recommended. 4 stars, but would be move like 4-1/2 to almost 5, but can't with the lens issue.

I had an LG G3 previously that was fried by a bad car charger, so I had to quickly pick a phone. I had been very happy with the G3 so I decided to go with another LG. What I Like: SD card slot Removable battery Sharp, bright screen. Very good battery life Quick charger is just that: very fast USB Type C Dual rear cameras: the wide angle camera is very nice for outdoor nature shots; main 16MP camera takes great shots What I don't like: Still not stock Android Screen is slightly smaller than my G3 (5.3" vs. 5.5") Modular feature doesn't appeal to me

Honestly, this purchase experience wasn't great. It took 30 minutes for someone to help me because they only had one Verizon person, who proceeded to mistake how this would affect my billing. They didn't have the phone I actually wanted, but I thought this was a step up anyway. It's been fine, but it doesn't seem like a noticeable upgrade over my G3. The screen is moderately improved, it's a little faster (maybe), but it wasn't as easy to set up as advertised (it literally couldn't transfer my information because out of the box it wasn't set for NFC, and I couldn't make an adjustment manually and then make the transfer). The curvature in the top of the screen is poor design: it serves no purpose, gives a little glare, and interferes with the Android interface; It also makes adding a tempered glass protector more difficult. The volume buttons on my G3 were on the back, and I actually got used to that. On the side it's too easy to bump them, and my cover doesn't work well with them. The camera seems slower than my G3, and the quality of picture isn't noticeably improved. I do like that it still has a removable battery, but I don't like that I need a tool to access sim and SD cards. I already have no idea where that went. Ultimately, the phone wasn't a big upgrade but it's probably one of the best on the market. I'm paying for a huge upgrade and that's on best buy. Probably won't go to them for a new phone again.

Purchasing this phone was a good choice. I absolutely love the camera. Screen is a decent size, not too big and not too small. The fast charging capability couldn't be better. The battery last practically all day. I'm learning every day of new features that this phone has that my last one didn't. Overall pretty cool phone.

This phone works incredibly well. Fast. Might be a bit too big for people with small hands. The rear-facing camera, unfortunately, gave out on me four months in. The focus simply refuses to work. This is extremely disappointing, given how excellent the camera quality is. After doing some research, this actually appears to be a very common problem.

This phone is lightning fast, sleek, and holds its battery life for days. I love the slightly curved top and the fact you can remove and replace the battery. The first phone I got was a lemon, it kept crashing until it just wouldn't turn on anymore. Best buy made the exchange quick, easy, and painless and my new phone has had zero issues. Love it!

If you don't like the bloated OS on other phones, and you don't want an apple phone this is the phone for you. Low cost or free with a 2 year contract, great battery life, and decent size screen. There was no need to replace the OS. Recently had the latest upgrade and the phone didn't slow down. We were so pleased that we bought 2 phones.
