I have owned and used this phone for 6 months. Overall, I have had numerous software issues with the phone, which resulted in me having to reset it to factory settings 3 times so far- all for different issues. The first was the wifi connectivity, the second was the constant freezing of the phone, and the third was the lack of gps connectivity. LG support was unprofessional and not helpful since their main suggestion is telling me to reset the phone.

Really nice phone. I bought one for my wife and she loves it. She'll probably never use the modules but it's still a huge upgrade from her LG G2.

I doubt I will ever buy an LG phone again. Here is why. Before buying a cellphone, it may be important to understand how you will be supported by the manufacturer if the phone dies in the first year of operation. By comparing my 2014 experience with Squaretrade with my 2016 experience with LG, this story shows that as of August of 2016, LG's service policy is not even remotely acceptable. In 2014, I fell down a couple of wet subway stairs when rushing for a train. I was ok, but unfortunately, the LG G3 phone I was holding in my hand suffered a broken screen when I hit the pavement. I called SquareTrade, the insurance company from whom I purchased my extended warranty. SquareTrade overnighted me a replacement phone which I received by 10:00 am the next day. The replacement phone came in a box with prepaid postage. I shipped my old phone back to them in that box. The SquareTrade customer service person said while SquareTrade rushed my replacement to me, that they only wanted the old phone back anytime in the next thirty days. The SquareTrade bottom line? Total time without a working phone was less than twelve hours. In August of 2015, I upgraded my G3 to a brand new LG G4 which I purchased at CostCo with a new SquareTrade warranty. My G4 lives in a protective case. I never dropped it, fell on it, or got it wet. In the midst of playing a song on July 18th, 2016, the phone froze, and then died. Battery resetting did not work. Charging did not work. On July 19th, I drove the 10.8 miles to the Verizon store in my CostCo where I originally purchased the phone. The Verizon representative examined the phone, tried a different battery and a different charger and pronounced the phone to be dead. Their computer system verified that I purchased the phone, including a SquareTrade warranty eleven months prior. The Verizon representative said Verizon could not help me and that I needed to go home and call SquareTrade. I drove the 10.8 miles home and called SquareTrade. The representative immediately found me in their computer system and told me that my SquareTrade warranty starts when my LG manufacturer warranty of one year expires. As I only owned the phone for eleven months, I was instructed to call LG. I called LG. The LG representative said they did not have access to the computer system accessed by SquareTrade or Verizon and so needed a copy of my receipt before they could help me. While I could have gotten the receipt online if I had purchased the phone online, I needed to physically return to the CostCo store to obtain a copy of my original receipt for items purchased in the store. That a technology company such as LG did not negotiate a data sharing arrangement with Verizon, one of their major distributors, is not very "high tech." Using Baseball terminology, "LG Strike one." Seething, I drove the 10.8 miles back to CostCo where the CostCo customer service person printed me a copy of my receipt. I then drove the 10.8 miles back home. (For those keeping score, total driving experience so far in the story is 43.2 miles.) After scanning my receipt with my PC, I was able to upload it to the LG service portal. Now, I spoke to an LG representative who agreed to help me. While there is a USPS office within walking distance of my house, and a UPS shipping store two miles from my house, LG returns are done via FedEx. The LG online app enabled me to print a FedEx shipping document as FedEx is their logistics partner. I printed out the FedEx shipping document and drove 3.4 miles to FedEx. The FedEx customer service person sold me a special padded box FedEx recommends for cell phones so that LG would be assured there would be no further damage during the return of my phone to LG. That very impressive box costs $10.69. The box LG would later ship me the bubble-wrapped phone with looks like it cost less than a dollar. Hey LG, if you are going to send me to your logistics partner, have them sell me only the box I need. (LG Strike two.) I then drove the 3.4 miles back home. (Total driving experience for me in this story is 50.0 miles.) (LG strike three.) For people who have a second phone (or who buy a temporary phone), you can go online and forward your cell phone calls to another number while your phone is being repaired. Unfortunately, Verizon has no facility that allows you forward text messages. For my clients who are used to texting me, this is not acceptable. I emailed the most frequent of my clients that I would not have texting for a while. Of course I missed some and the result would be some lost business during this adventure. I should hold Verizon, not LG, responsible for this item. I remain an unhappy customer. The next day, July 20th, I checked online for the status of my repair. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 21st, I checked online for the status of my repair. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 22nd, I checked online for the status of my repair. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 23rd, I checked online for the status of my repair. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 24th, I checked online for the status of my repair. My phone was "in transit." On July 25th, I checked online. LG had received my phone. Where SquareTrade used the fasted possible method and got me my replacement phone in less than 12 hours, LG purchased the slowest possible service FedEx offers. (LG Strike four.) According to the online status, LG made the repair, boxed up the phone, and shipped the phone back to me in less than twelve hours, all on July 25th. However, LG again chose to ship me the phone via FedEx's slowest possible service. The next day, July 26th, I checked online for the status of my phone. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 27th, I checked online for the status of my phone. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 28th, I checked online for the status of my phone. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 29th, I checked online for the status of my phone. My phone was "in transit." The next day, July 30th, Fed Ex delivered my phone back to me. (Five days via FedEx? LG strike five.) After inserting the memory card and sim card, the phone booted up just fine. However, most of my apps are gone and those that restored now require to be set up again and enter the ID and password and options for each. When did my phone break? July 18th. When did I get my phone back? July 30th. How many miles did I need to drive to enable my phone to be repaired? Fifty miles! How many people did I need to talk to in order to get my phone repaired? 1. The Verizon rep to validate my phone was broken and covered by insurance. 2. The SquareTrade rep to directed me to talk to LG. 3. The first LG rep who said they could not help me without a copy of my receipt. 4. The CostCo customer service person who printed my receipt. 5. The second LG rep who agreed to help me and get my return authorized. 6. The FedEx rep who upsold me an unnecessarily expensive shipping box. WHAT COULD BE DONE TO CHANGE THESE POLICIES? At the point a customer returns to the Verizon (or other) store where the phone was purchased, the rep should give the customer two options. A. Pay a discounted price for a new phone or B. Have LG overnight a refurbished phone to the customer's home or work address. The customer could then use the box the refurbished phone came in to return their old phone. If the customer is home, then they should be able to use a web screen or call LG to accomplish the same actions. If all of this seems too difficult, then LG could outsource 100% of warranty service to SquareTrade. SquareTrade has already figured out how to properly treat a customer. In this day and age, anything less is not competitive. Many years before the invention of the Internet, J.D. Powers did a study that showed that while extremely happy customers would recommend their purchase to two friends, that very unhappy customers would tell eighteen others of their adventure over time. In the era of the Internet, you can multiply that number 18 by the number of people who will read this review. Unless something changes about how LG treats their customers, I doubt I will ever buy an LG phone again.

The phone felt and looked smooth, and I really had high hopes. Unfortunately, before I even got home, 1 of the phones had to be factory reset with tech support (from another phone) because it wouldn't connect to the network. Then both LG G5's we purchased continued to have serious issues whenever we tried to be on a phone call. From crackle sounds to flat disconnects. Returned for the Galaxy S7.

Buy a Motorolla; after buying this phone the GPS stopped working, LG does not send a new phone, they make you wait for them to repair the device, Motorolla stands by their products and will gladly send a new phone and only charge you if the damage to the phone is obviously the buyers fault. Not to mention DROID's are a superior product.

We bought this phone 5 days ago. Within the first 24 hours The glass covering the camera exploded from heat inside my boyfriend's pocket. He works and could not take it back that day, and over the next 4 days could not get on the internet, send text messages or pictures. We went to Best Buy last night and they said we could return it no problem, but that they were very busy that night and would we mind returning in the morning. When we came back today Best Buy refused to return this defective product. So I won't be buying at Goleta best buy or an lg ever again
