PROS Nice Screen, Awesome Camera, Water Resistant, Solid Build, Good Performance, Wireless Charging, Headphone Jack CONS Terrible Launcher, Too Many Junk Apps, Average Battery Life, 32GB of Storage, Mono Color Flash As it stands now, the 18x9 screen looks nice, but it’s more of a gimmick than anything else. Very few little content / apps are available in a 18x9 format. The LCD screen gets the job done and looks nice, but I can’t help but wonder what this phone would look like with an AMOLED. You’ll ask that question at night, if you are using always on display. You’ll notice some light bleed that is very hard to avoid with an LCD screen. The camera on the G6 is one of the best you are going to find on a smartphone in 2017. Not only is the quality top notch, but it’s usable. A lot of dual lens phones use both for bokah or image enhancement. LG has proven that you do not need two lenses for that. Instead they deliver the stellar wide angle lens to supplement the standard lens. It makes for a powerful duo and leaves me wishing that others would adopt a similar format. The G6 feels good in your hand. It feels much more solid than the G5 did, thanks to its solid, one piece construction. The design meant going away from the removable battery, which is a big drawback for some, but it also allowed them to make the phone water resistant. I’ll take that any day over a removable battery, especially now that cheap, compact battery packs are so readily available. The wireless charging is a feature I love, but there is an oddity here. You only get that in the US version. In fact there are a couple versions of the G6 out there depending on where you live. For the price, it would have been nice to merge all the features together and only offer one model. Instead you are stuck deciding if you want more internal storage, wireless charging, or high def audio. LGs biggest weak point is its software. Why can’t they adopt Motorola’s philosophy? I like a phone that is close to stock with no duplicate apps and no bloatware. The G6 is neither of those. The stock launcher is a total nightmare. You can quickly add the version with an app drawer, but it’s not much better. You’ll get very few options to customize anything. You’ll quickly find yourself downloading Nova Launcher or the Google Now Launcher. I’ve forced myself to use the standard app drawer launcher that LG provides since it was designed to work with the phone, but it’s not great. The battery life is about average. I list that as a con, because this is a flagship running an 821. It should be better than average. I went to this from a Moto Z Play. The SOT difference between the two phones is about 7hrs. That is not a typo. The average user is not going to notice the performance difference between the two phones, only the battery life. Power users are going to see the performance difference. 32GB of storage might seem like an okay option considering this phone also has expandable storage. Here is the problem with that – if you add enough storage, you don’t need also have expandable storage. For a flagship 64GB is quickly becoming standard and many makers have started offering higher options. I honestly think this is going to be one of the last flagships we see with 32GB of storage. The flash annoys me. I haven’t had a phone with a single color flash in years. The last ten phones I have used have had a dual or even a triple color flash, and for good reason. The flash on the G6 will wash your subjects out. It’s a little thing, but little things can make or break a flagship. Should you buy this phone? The price of this phone has been dropping like a rock. If you can land it for less than $500, you’ll have an amazing phone in your hand at a good price point. Overall this is an amazing phone. It could have been the best, but a few cut corners kept it from being as good as it could have been. For those of you who really like to take photos with your phone, this is the one for you! SIDE NOTE – This phone does not have an IR blaster. The G5 did. I want to mention that since some users love the functionality that comes with an IR blaster.

My latest phone was a Samsung Galaxy S5. I purchased the unlocked LG G6 US997 model because it was unlocked, it got good reviews, it was almost bezel less, and it was $150 or more less than the Samsung Galaxy S8. The S8 has a curved style that I did not like. The G6 is very well made, the camera works great, it comes with Nougat as the operating system. If you read reviews, you will see that the processor is not quite as speedy as the Qualcomm 835 that comes with the Samsung S8. However, this phone works great, and I see no downside to the Qualcomm 821 that is in this phone. I am not a heavy user of games or videos, however. If you want a great phone and you want to save some money, I do recommend this phone, especially for you Apple users who only use email and Facebook, you can save a lot of money.

I got this phone for around $490 after price matching and I dont regret it one bit. It is a nice phone. I've only ever had a mid range phone before this one and it's a nice step up. The storage on this is a bit small I would say, by installing all of the apps I use regularly, youtube, snapchat etc. Ive used up a little less than half of the storage space. So I'd say buying an SD card is a must. The camera quality is pretty great. The selfie camera pictures come out just a bit grainy if I'm being honest, but they're not horrible. The phone runs smoothly and looks perfect. I had a couple issues ordering the phone online but in the end everything worked out. I use this phone on Metropcs and it works perfect. So if you're thinking about this phone, it's a definite solid choice.

Will never have an iphone. Apple sucks. Android is way better. Has a ton of good features. LG batteries are one of the best. Screen Display is decent. Good memory options, decent camera quality. Alittle on the heavy side compared to Motorola or Samsung which can have bigger displays and still weigh less than this one. Rarely some times screen will freeze and I have to turn it off then back on. Don't know if touch response is the problem or the phone system itself. Anyways, I've had the phone for over a year now and have no major problems.

I really am pleased with my new LG cell phone and accessories that I purchased. The camera is fantastic. The service I received from Lance at the Gurnee store was great! He showed me a couple of things I was not famiilar with and how to operate them. Also he set up my new phone to make it very easy to navigate them. I love LG products! There were a few things I did not understand. So I went back and talked to Lance and he explained them in 20 minutes. Now I am so happy with new phone!! The LG G6 cell phone Thank you, Carol G

I did a TON of research on phones before deciding on the G6. I knew it wasn't the latest and greatest processor or have the most RAM, but at half the price of current flagship models it was hard to pass up. Phone is fast, I haven't noticed any lag switching between apps. My only complaint is the camera, using auto mode produces heavily processed pictures that look "oily" to me. Manual mode can produce some pretty great photos, if you're up for some editing after taking the picture. For me, I just want to take pictures and be done. I've found that I take wayyy less photos than before, simply because they don't turn out so great. I've had slightly better luck using the modded Pixel camera app, but still not 100% happy with how it works.

I bought this phone unlocked, because I am done with the $30/mo that all providers are going to for a new device. The unlocked version has little bloat-wear and performs exceptionally. Everything you could want in an android, but I was a little disappointing with battery life.

Bought this phone to replace my wife's Samsung Note 3. We also purchased a case and glass shield. I had a spare 128GB microSD card that we installed. We enjoy the freedom that wireless charging provides and ordered from an online source a wireless charging adapter designed for this class of phone. After installing the SD card and the wireless charging adapter that fit well inside the protective case, My wife is very pleased with the performance, battery life, and connectivity of the phone. It is an incredible phone for the money.

I can't imagine why I would pay an extra $150 for the privilege of having a phone locked to a specific carrier. Even allowed me to copy everything off my old phone easily. Just plug in SIM (and SD card) and ready. Only thing I'm lacking is all the bloatware carrier adds for its own apps. Who needs it.

This phone is perfect for my needs and well priced. I did add 256 of memory, a case, and ear buds. Cameras are great, video outstanding, and sound is pretty good. Intuitive and easy to use. Battery time is good as well. Did I mention it was priced right.

A new phone for 2017, LG put quality design into the phone. I use it for business, as I believe the tech is good, for my needs. I wish the GiF's were more interactive in texting, but I am learning. It has an advanced great camera.

I bought this because I wanted good specs like the harddrive space 32GB and 4GB RAM with a good processor - I was tired of waiting for an App or webpage to load and needed more memory, since all my other older phones just had only 1GB of RAM and in 2018 - that's just not enough. There's nothing I don't like about the phone, it's great all around, and it even updated from Android 7.1 to Oreo 8.0 at initial startup. I am using a Tracfone sim card through Verizon network and it's great. I have just one little gripe and I bet it will be addressed in the next OS update to PIE 9.0 - but when charging the phone, when finished - the phone gives no audible indication that it's fully charged, like all my other LG phones have done, I find it quite strange, really. It does show in the notification dropdown but no audible indication - so you might be keeping it on the charger for longer than needed. Talking about the battery: it gives me 2 days charge, with WiFi, Location, Bluetooth and Sync ON. - - - - - I highly recommend this phone. - - - - -

I debated between this phone and the Galaxy S8. After many weeks of research, watching videos, reading reviews, I decided to purchase the LG G6, and I'm so glad I did. This is an awesome phone. The camera takes amazing pictures. I've had my fair share of both Samsung and LG phones and I like both brands, but I am very satisfied with my purchase. My wife likes my phone, she asked me to get her one as well so that's what I'm going to do. Likes: Camera quality and options (wide screen), Long battery life (upwards of 2 full days with regular use, streaming music etc...), Screen Size Dislikes: No notification light

Excellent phone, water proof, fast fingerprint unlock. The back of the phone is glass and it cracked ( I have a UAG case on it) when I dropped it from about 3 feet. If you are careful and don't drop it...this phone is worth the price.
