This is a great case to help people who go through cell phones from dropping them or spilling them. The cases are stylish and are made well. Always make sure you do a leak test if you're concerned about the underwater aspect. Given the price of the case I would never accept one that isn't water tight even though I would never plan on using it under water. We bought this for our daughter who breaks screens consistently and who is going to be a new mom. This case will allow splashes and accidental drops when dealing with the newborn and losing focus on something around you. The only issue is the customer port they have for the headphone jack. Because it's water proof it has a different connection that can go bad after awhile if you constantly remove it and put it back in.

The life case was purchased for its protection capabilities and it works! have dropped the i-phone several times and even dropped it in water and the phone still works. The protection does come with a price (not only in $). you have to use a connection to listen to your headphones or take off the case. Charging can be difficult if you do not use the charger that came with the phone. Bought a spare charger and have to take off the case to use it.

The Lifeproof company continues to produce an outstanding waterproof case that is quite slim and can take a beating. This verison is no exception. I continue to make my guys put these cases on their phones and it saves them for sure.

    Great Protective Case for iPhone

Bought this case for an iPhone 5c. I wanted something that didn’t make the phone too bulky (I care it in my pants pocket) but wanted some protection from drops and water. The LifeProof case fit the bill. The case added some thickness and length to the phone, but not as much as other cases I looked at. I have dropped my phone several times already (that is why I needed a good case) and no issues. My phone has not been dunked in a lot of water but it has been exposed to the rain with no problems. The only downside I can see is you need to use an adapter, which comes with the case, to plug in your headphones. Since I don’t use the headphones much, it is no problem for me. But it is one more thing to caring with you. Overall, I am very happy with the case.

Good overall but a few tradeoffs

Overall a good product that provides great protection. The case is slim and doesn't add much bulk while providing good drop/shock protection and excellent waterproof protection. Basically I was looking for a protective case that allowed full use of all the phone functions and ports on a daily basis. This case fits those needs with a few "others". The connection port for the charging cord is accessible via a small flip-down door. The way the case is designed only a small connector will fit. The Apple supplied cord fits fine but I have a few aftermarket cords that do not fit because the opening in the case is too small. In order to connect to the audio port an adapter, supplied with the case, is needed. This just presents a bit of inconvenience if you want to use the audio port. I don't listen to music via headphones often but do have an older Jawbone UP band that requires connection through the audio port. I used the adapter daily and it was not ideal. The cover over the phone screen seems to affect the accuracy and sensitivity of the phone touchscreen. On occasion there are some keyboard "buttons" that I'm not able to select and I never had that problem before this case went on. It also seems like I have to press the screen harder with the case on than without. The fingerprint feature on the "home" button does not seem to be as sensitive with the case on versus off. It still works but seems to have less tolerance for perfect thumb placement in order to read successfully. Lastly, the speakerphone function and listening to music via the little internal speakers seems to be affected by the case. The sound is not as loud and seems to be muffled somewhat. Microphone sensitivity seems fine though. Overall a good case and the tradeoffs seems reasonable for the protection afforded. The case is a bit on the expensive side but, when compared to the replacement cost of a new phone, also a reasonable tradeoff.

I protected my new iPhone 5s with a LifeProof fre case since I first bought the phone. When I needed to replace the original case, I considered reviews for several options before ultimately deciding to stick with the LifeProof fre. During the time I've had this phone, it has been dropped, rained on, sat on, and daily has been shoved into and pulled out from a jeans hip pocket many times. Yet when I removed the old cover, the phone looked shiny and new. Although owned by the same company, LifeProof cases are slimmer than Otterbox cases - a crucial point for a girl's back pocket! It would take some sort of phone-case miracle to convince me to change from LifeProof.

Have multiple Apple products all protected with life proof cases. Use them in the swimming pool hot tub and any place there is water. Saved my devices more then once. Expensive but worth the protection.

This case has been my favorite since they came out. I first got one when I was about to deploy to the horn of Africa, a real trail by fire. The case overall is awesome, water proof, shock resistance etc., but the reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the headphone jack isnt the strongest. I have gone through a good couple of those. Also the durability around the edges where the rubber over laps the screen cover doesn't last more than a year. Since this phone case is almost 100$ and I almost have to replace it every year is kinda dissapointing, especially with the name LifeProof. But untill someone makes a case that is better than this one, I'll stay with them.

I had an allergic reaction and called 911 on my cell phone which had a Lifeproof cover. While on the phone with the 911 operator I passed out. I apparently flung the phone about 15 feet and it bounced several times on my tile floor. My daughter picked up the phone and (Thank God) the 911 operators were still there and they were able to get to me. My Lifeproof box was dinged up but it protected the cellphone and we stayed in contact with 911. Ambulance, ER Doctors told me I was extremely lucky. This was a life and death moment. When I upgraded my phone it was a no brainer that the cover was going to be Lifeproof again. Worth every penny.

About a week after getting this case, my wife dropped her phone while getting into the car. She then ran over her phone when she came back home as evidenced by the skid mark on the Lifeproof case we found from the tire dragging the case a few inches on the concrete as she was braking. The phone was fine, as was the case which is still in service a year later. She also took the phone on vacation and used the submersible feature to take some underwater pictures. No issues at all. This is hands down the toughest and best phone case either of us have ever had. The only downside is the price, but then again you get what you pay for.

I work in metal fabrication shop, so I was constantly ruining my phone with metal dust and what not. Had the case on for a month straight now and took my phone out yesterday. There isn't a spec of metal dust or any type of dirt on it. Dunked it in water for over 2 hours and there wasn't any water inside. Threw it at the ground and it didn't phase my iPhone(didn't throw it hard but enough to where you're phone would normally break). The only thing I don't like about it is that it's somewhat bulky (I'm picky about bulky things being in my pocket). But it's not as bulky as an otter box. This phone case is worth every penny.

I love this case! I have dropped my phone and gotten it wet several times with this case on and my phone is as good as new. I did have to give it 4 stars instead of 5 though because of the headphone jack. Because of the design of the case, you are required to use an adapter that screws into the port and then you plug your headphones or auxiliary cable in. This cable adds extra length to my phone and makes it difficult to fit in my arm band and waist band that I have for running. If they could find a way to eliminate needing the adapter, I would have definitely given the case 5 stars!

I've been using lifeproof cases ever since I got an iPhone almost 2 years ago. The case is awesome for protecting my phone when I drop it, which is a lot. I don't really use my phone around water so I can't comment on how water proof it is but I'm definitely not afraid of getting drops of water on it, which makes it easy to clean when it gets dirty. Sometimes it's hard to hear the person on the other end of the phone but I think it's just because of the position I hold it in when I'm talking. i just have to find the right spot. Overall, no complaints. I love the case.

I've used 3 Otterbox Defenders over the course of my time with my iPhone 5 and I recently got the LifeProof fre. I like it more than the otter box because it's not only thinner and less bulky but it protects even further my making the devices entirely waterproof - something the Defender never did. Only complaints are using the earphone jack can become an annoying (albeit short) task, removal could be easier, and the plastic covering the home button and camera/flash feel like they could rip.. Compared to the cost of an Otterbox this is much better for $20 more.

Love this case. It was actually hard to get the black one, which I really wanted, because they were selling out so quickly. But this one is great. It fits snugly and protects the phone as only Lifeproof can. Yes, it's more expensive than some cases, but it's worth paying the extra price, since it protects the phone so well. Better than buying a new phone! I have dropped it a couple of times already, and had no damage at all! And of course the rain, which we have had a lot of lately, can't get in. Thumbs way up.

This was a spontaneous purchase based on the salesperson's recommendation. I needed a case quickly when my iPhone 5s arrived in the mail. It is serving its purpose but it is overkill for my needs. I like the fact that I don't need a separate screen protector. I don't like the fact that you have to unscrew a protective cap to access the headphone jack. Add that to the fact that you need a special dongle (it comes with the case) to use the headphones, as well. It's quite durable, though. It's just way beyond what I really need.

Although this Lifeproof case was pricey, it has provided the best protection for my iPhone. I have dropped this phone several times and my phone or screen has not broken. I have 3 kids that have iPhones with Lifeproof cases too. They are always dropping their phone either on the ground or into a pool and the phones are still working and have no damage. I like this Lifeproof case better than the Otterbox because it's thinner and can fit in your back pocket or smaller purse. The Otterbox is thicker and more bulky.

Love it! I have been using the Otter box for years and have been very happy with it, but never liked all the dirt that gathered under the box. This Lifeproof case protects from water, dirt along with drops and bumps. It is so lightweight and slimmer than the Otter box. I almost feel like I have a new phone. I purchased it on sale for $50 and it is worth every penny. The Apple brand headset works fine in the plug, but if you are connecting anything else I have found I needed to use the extension headset which makes it waterproof.

Went to the store looking for accessories for my Apple watch, stumbled across this case on sale for $20 less than the normal price. Had to grab it, and very happy I did. This is my son's phone, he is n active 16 year old with a flourishing lawn care business. His phone gets subjected to all kinds of dust, dirt, and sweat. This case has kept it from being fouled due to all of the contaminates. Highly recommended, especially if you can get it for a discount.
