The problem is that the rubber gasket along the edge comes loose and there is no way to reattach it. I tried to contact lifeproof and they were totally not helpful. I ended up throwing this case away and getting an otter box.

Good overall open-face case
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Personally, I’ve always been partial to the Fre on iPhones past (and will probably get one for this iPhone X as well when they finally release them). That being said, there are some real pros to this case as well as a few drawbacks. The Good: The case is relatively simple to install, is light weight, and is generally pretty slim. I noticed this iPhone X really doesn’t show fingerprints on the screen like when you use the Fre w/screen cover and it has a very pleasant feel. The mute button is easier than ever on this case compared to other LifeProof cases I’ve owned. The Challenges: The clear back shows fingerprints/grease like crazy... so although you get a beautiful view of the back of the phone, if you are OCD like me, you’ll be constantly wiping it. Also, the increased width of this case makes it just wide enough to not properly fit in my cup holder in my car without having to jam it down (which only serves to scratch the rubber on the side of the case). I’m hoping the Fre will be just a hair thinner so I don’t have this problem. Additionally this case looks and feels more plastic-y than the Fre I’m used to which is more of a rubbery feel. Also, it doesn’t have the small protruding posts on either side of the volume buttons to protect them from side impact. Also, this case is not waterproof - but the iPhone comes out of the box as “water resistant” to 1-meter. So officially, no scuba-diving, but you could play in a splash kiddie pool without issue. Conclusion: If you want protection and form with the ability to directly touch the screen and are without much concern for enhanced waterproofing, this is a great case. LifeProof - hands down - are the best protection you can purchase for your new $1,000+ iPhone.
