We’re sorry that you are not getting very lucky with this Nuud case during Face Time. The muffling issue is not normal and we definitely want to help out.
Typically, the quickest and most effective way to alleviate any audio issues with your LifeProof case will be to remove your device, blow some air through the speaker and microphone membranes on the case, and then re-install your iPad with the bottom going in first.

The difference between iPad Mini and iPad Mini 2 us that if you put them right next to each other, the iPad Mini is actually skinnier than the second Gen. So when you put it in the case, it puts a ton of pair on the screen and doesn't make the right seal and warps the screen. Just buy the one for the third generation iPad Mini for a few more bucks and not have to find out the hard way by not being able to take it back because they don't accept anything back over 15 days. ONLY BUY IF YOU HAVE FIRST GEN IPAD MINI
