I bought these on sale and they were pretty cool; however, I had issues connecting both bulbs at the same time. one worked but the other would always disconnect. Very frustrating

I used to be an avid Hue fan until I used the LIFX bulbs. Not only is it very convenient to set up, without the need of a hub (unlike Hue), this also truly shows ALL colors correctly. With the Hue bulbs, I had to settle for a lime yellow-green at best for green, and aqua was simply a bright daylight white (note: this happens with just the bulbs. The Hue strips can show amazing greens and aquas). With LIFX, I can have deep green, vibrant aqua and any other color in between. It's truly a fantastic product for anyone that likes ease of use and brilliant, various colors.

The light bulbs are bright no hassle install. Can control from anywhere with the app. Light bulbs have the flicker like a candle option that no other smart light bulb have. Pairs with SmartThings and IFTTT with no problems. Time to make your lights smart!!!

So far, it's a nightmare. Light quality isn't bad at all, not perfect but it certainly seemed better than the Hue which is why I purchased this. I'm having issues though with these not staying connected and my app frequently shows a light offline (I have 8 lights and I will typically lose about 6 bulbs randomly every 12 hours). To fix this, you have to power cycle them through the switch. I have also had almost no tech support other than an initial email telling me to update the lights. 1 of the lights appears to be bricked completely and they have not contacted me back about a replacement. I'm using a Google Onhub router and I expect it has something to do with the lights being lost when the router changes channels or something along those lines but I still have no solution after 1 week. Also, these desperately need a wall switch like what Philips sells that can activate a scene because opening up the app on the phone is way worse than the old way of flipping a switch. Samsung Smartthings unfortunately can't activate scenes so you only have color control from within the Lifx App or using IFTTT which is a bit slow. Keep in mind that you are adding traffic to your router with this. The App is functionally OK but needs some beautification. Android widgets are downright ugly. I like that you can control the white color temperature separately from the colors...cause honestly, I rarely plan on using the colors. I find the colors strain my eyes but my kids love them. I'm just not sure that with the increased traffic on the network and potential issues with routers is a good long term solution. Ultimately the hub seems like a better solution. But I would definitely say the quality of light of these is better than the Hue which uses the hub. I will update my review if Lifx ever finds a good solution for my issues but so far the support has not been great.

The lifx color 1000 are nice when they work. When they don't you might as well throw them in the garbage you just wasted your money. Lifx has the absolute worst customer service I have ever had the experience of dealing with. IF you want color changing bulbs that work with amazon echo look somewhere else. I did not buy these at best buy. I got them direct from lifx.
