I was looking for a solution to not only add some lighting behind my PC setup for a cleaner look on my camera when I stream/record video but also something that looked interesting. Well I can tell you that this does both. Very easy to install with included 3m velcro and let me tell you, these are not moving unless you want them to. If I need lighting these are more than capable of lighting not only my desk but my entire room as well, and when I don't need the light as much you can play around in the app and configure something that is more pleasant to the eyes. I ABSOLUTELY love this product!

Awesome lights, hard to mount to wall though. App works well. Have had some app issues but nothing that won’t get worked out with updates. Wish it had more options though.

These are very nice lights. However I found it very difficult to set them up initially. Altogether, though, they are worth it!

    Setup and power adapter issues

Once set up, looks great. Setup was a disaster. It kept showing up as multiple networks so each one (Or groups of 2 or 3) was being controlled independently as separate tiles instead of 1 cohesive unit. Secondarily, for some inexplicable reason, the power adapter is 2 separate pieces and when put together it doesn’t maintain a proper electrical connection so I have to ghetto masking tape it to keep it tight and connected so power doesn’t disconnect.

I love LIFX smart lights. I have them all over my home. Best thing is you do not need a hub they connect directly to the WIFI. this is the 2nd send of tiles i have purchased. I used them on my floor in my meditation room to provide a soothing environment. They are perfect and I don't have to hang them up if I do not want to.

    Great Product and Difficult Installation

I purchase this product to fulfill the sole purpose of accent lighting within my dining room. The lights are beautiful and with the newest software update (as of 4/26/19) I absolutely love the “tap and interact” feature: Tap any tile 1x to switch the lights to 1 of 3 modes: Solid Color, Morphing Colors, Fire. Tap any tile 2x to turn the product on/off. The lights are bright and beautifully colorful and I absolutely love the ascetics of this product. However, there is never a pro without a con. These lights are DIFFICULT to install. The product requires you to route the excess power cable behind each tile and then affix it to the wall. The wiring continuously would pop out of the wire channels and cause the device not to sit flush on the wall’s surface. This is a big problem as each tile connects and adheres to the wall via 3M command strips. Overall, I love the product. I would purchase more even though there is a slight difficulty with installation. Once you get it in place though, it (to me) is perfectly worth the wait.

The long and the short of it is that every single thing you have heard about how awful these are to install is completely accurate if not being kind to the process. They are awful to install, the 3M strips dont always latch properly when getting placed, they ripped off my wall at times. Trying to position them is awful, trying to hide the wires is awful. But then you're in a dim room and the morph takes over the room saturating the space with beautiful transitions and theyre worth it. But good grief get ready to waste time.

Bought this set for my teen’s room. This was easy to setup but a pain to install on the walls. I would love a different way to fix them on the wall. Also, cable management can be a pain. A Smaller base for the tiles would help a lot. The tiles are nice but do not kid yourself: this won’t be a primary light source in your room... they are barely bright enough to be entertaining, but not much more. Finally: this is an expensive proposition, and I wish they were 100$ cheaper.

Bought this for my son who is an adult. He tried to set it up and it would not complete the full association within the LIFX app. The app only found 3 out of the 5 tiles. And, the ones it 'found' and listed within the app were unavailable. LIFX support says to reset the tiles. Buwahahaha. You have to actually turn on and off the power 5 times for EACH tile separately. We gave up after about the second or third one. As we were doing this one of the tiles fell off the wall. This product is too heavy to support its own weight. The setup is crap. I'm in enterprise IT for over 18 years and this product is garbage. This is not the same LIFX that started out a while back. In any case, I returned this junk and paid the extra to get the nanoleaf. Check them out. So much more user friendly to setup and use. No cables to manually insert, just pop in and play. I have over 15 LIFX lights in the house, but this product is not recommended. If you notice, there are sales on this. This most likely means a product update.

I have 20 variety of Phillip hue lights for about a year. The setup is simple, the app is wonderful and have consistency in the connection of those bulbs. This is my first purchase of the LIFX product and definitely will be my last! These are overpriced Christmas lights in a nutshell. As I write this review one of the panels just shutoff, go figure! The videos and pics look fantastic however when they function properly. For my Phillips hue bulbs, I just have to connect them to one bridge. For these panels, I have to individually connect each one as they serve for the own respective bridge, that’s insane. Because the chords serve as a circuit to the panels, if panel 2 goes out, then there’s goes panel 3-5. It’s ridiculous because then you have to individually re check and set them up again. Save your $$ and avoid

Frustrating to set up in the app depending on skill level. Even more frustrating to hang up based on the design. Looks incredible once it’s up and working. Pro tip, tape the cords in place with electrical tape so they don’t move when you try and install.

Really cool to impress company or to flex your battle station. Allows you to control lights via app and not a hub which sets its price point lower than phillips. However since it is app based you will be reaching for your phone to adjust the lights quite often. If you have your phone on you all the time it might not be such an issue. There might be some connectivity issues so just make sure your phone has location mode settings on. One note as well if you plan to sync this to music you might want to install a third party app on your phone called "Chromania" the best app manager for these lights if you want sound sensitivity enabled.

Lighting tiles are beautiful... when they actually work in conjunction. Half the time im struggling trying to set the up so they all link up under the same system, but 2 or 3 tiles will always stay red or out of agreement with set up of other tiles in the set. Its something better in theory than in practice, this needs to be worked on. Application doesn't help much with set up, had to use YouTube videos to figure out how to do it myself because instructions given weren't as helpful. Too late for me to return or exchange so I put them back in the box and its now collecting dust. Next time I'm going to get the regular LIFX bulbs. However, it worked once, and when it did, the lights were spectacularly beautiful.

I like these tiles, they are very convenient when you have Alexa connected to them. That being said, there software is a mess. Sometimes the tiles aren't recognized and it becomes a problem trying to turn them on or off. I would keep the tap to turn on feature on but the tiles make a popping sound, probably from heat expansion and it makes them switch to the fireplace or color changing mode so it gets annoying to leave it on. Now after a power outage Alexa doesn't recognize them and the app fails to recognize them half the time. Will have to spend a few hours trying to fix it. They look amazing and I do like them but they are a pain if you don't want to handle that.

Tiles look amazing once Set up is complete. Now the set up is fidgety very specific and If you’re not technically inclined then I suggest you get somebody from the geek squad to set up for you after hours and took me three days to figure it out it was working perfect for a week and then they just reset it off turn off kick this off of the router and hadn’t figured out what went on tech-support was great and then walked me through the process of how to reset them and re-connecting no problems or issues since then have had them for over a month and we’ll see if they reset themselves again if they do that I’m returning them
