Bought this adapter after going there to buy a different one (Out of Stock even though they claimed to have 3 on their site). Works ok but sometimes won't connect to any of the available connections.

Unfortunately, this was garbage. Windows struggled to maintain a connection with it, so against my better judgment I tried to use the bundled software (doesn't matter which manufacturer it is, proprietary software for WIFI controllers sucks!), and ya know what? Yup, it sucked. I sucked it up and ran some CAT6 to stop my gf from whining that her connection kept dropping while playing Fortnite. This is my life. You're welcome.

      Hi,

It is possible that your device was just to far from your main router, since the adapter is dependent on the Wi-Fi capabilities of your router. We respect your decision in returning the device.

If you have questions regarding a Linksys device, feel free to email us at [email protected].

      Have a good day!

I bought this item per advice from Geek Squad agent. The device failed to function properly. I work at least 65 hours a week and can hardly find the the time to visit your store regularly. So by the time I was able to find the time return this faulty device, 19 days had elapsed. As far as I know, 30 days is the Michigan standard. However, a member of your return staff would not allow me to return a device that does not work. So I left it with her along with the invoice. And told her she can keep it as an early Christmas present.

      Hi JayFedereezy,

This is clearly not the behavior that your Linksys WUS6300 Adapter should exhibit. As what you have described, it's possible that the driver of your adapter needs an update to achieve a stable connectivity. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can have one of our Escalation Engineers assist you further. For easy reference, include your contact details and the link to this review.

This is a review of the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB 3.0 interface Adapter. I received this device at no cost from Belkin/Linksys in exchange for an honest review and feedback of my experience with it. This device is compatible with the following wireless standards: 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, and 802.11ac. The Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB 3.0 interface Adapter ships with a setup CD. I paired the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300) with a Linksys WRT 1900 ACS Dual Band Smart Wi-Fi Router with 1.6 GHZ dual core CPU and 512 MB memory (2.4 GHZ and 5.0 GHZ). I live in a two story house. The router is located on the first floor of the house in the far left corner. I did the majority of the testing of the Linksys AC1200 on the second floor of the house in the far right corner, which placed it at the farthest distance possible. I tested the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300) on two devices. One was on a desktop computer with a 1.87 GHZ Intel Core 2 6300 processor and 4MB of memory, running Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1. The other device was a notebook computer with a 1.73 GHZ Intel Core 2 U7300 processor and 4 MB memory. It originally ran Vista, and then was upgraded to Windows 7, and finally to Windows 10 (x64) Version 1511. The majority of the time, while testing the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300), there were at least four other devices also using wireless Wi-Fi in my home (another desktop PC, two android cell phones, and one android tablet.). For purposes of this review, I spent the majority of my time streaming video clips, streaming movie clips, streaming music. Otherwise, I spent time doing general browsing on the internet, reading and responding to web-based email, and an occasional internet speed test. On both the desktop and the notebook, the setup was fast and uneventful. The adapter was recognized by both devices quickly, and on both devices, the adapter was recognized by my router. I first tested the adapter using a secured password-protected network band. Later I tested it using an open non-secured, but password-protected guest network band. Not once did I fail to connect. I did not experience any drops in signal. Every once in a while I experienced some stutter while streaming video or music; and on occasion some noticeable slowness (usually on the notebook). On one stutter and/or slowness occasion, I was allowing several Windows updates to download and install at the same time I was streaming. I suspect that this was a significant contributor to the stutter and/or slowness. I found the connection speed and the overall download and upload speed to consistently be within the range advertised in the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB Adapter specifications. The Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB Adapter definitely improved the speed on the notebook compared to the original internal wireless network adapter (Qualcomm Atheros AR9285). Overall, I found the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) to be a very capable adapter, and would recommend to anyone that desires to move up to the 802.11ac wireless standard, and/or wishes to improve upon their wireless experience with the other wireless standards.

Used this for a PC to connect to a WIFI router that was only about 15 feet and two walls away. It failed consistently at maintaining a signal which is very frustrating, I tried it both at 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz and still couldn't keep connected. I tried it with the included software connection manager and also without it, using Win10 Pro to handle and it just couldn't consistently maintain. I ended up using an old D-Link 2.4 Gig adapter I dug up and it works fine, but I wanted the higher speed. Very disappointed.

Bought this in an effort to boost wi-fi signals from hotels, as I travel quite a bit. It offered only VERY slight improvement in signals, and sometimes I couldn't even tell if it was plugged into my laptop or not. The quality of the item is very flimsy, and broke into 4 pieces right after the return policy expired. I threw it away because there was no way to repair it. I wish I had my $40 back.

      Hi,

The Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless-AC USB Adapter should upgrade your laptop to an 802.11ac standard for higher speeds and better range. However, we could have tried to update the driver or connect to a different network for isolation.

Should you need assistance with other Linksys devices, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected], and share more details with the link to this review for our reference.
