We have plaster walls throughout the house and where our modem is and where my computer and other TV is located is at the other end of our house. This extender is picking up the signal without a problem and has made quite a difference!

Purchased this wi-fi extender and have not had any issues with a dead zone. Instructions are included, but I contacted customer support to walk me through setting up the extender. Easier to be walked through the set up than try to nagivagate through the instructions.

Your feedback is important to us. The Linksys Extender is just a booster of your existing Wi-Fi network. To avoid possible confusion among your devices in connecting to the stronger network signal, just check the box "Make same as router settings" and the range extender will simply follow the settings of the main router or access point. Poper relocation of the unit will also ensure strong signal coverage to your entire house. It is recommended that your range extender is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. You can also try to log into the Spot Finder page and determine your signal and move the range extender according to the Spot Finder results. Connected it to the Smart TV and saved me a lot of time and money running a cable line. Would recommend to my friends.

We had poor reception in our kitchen/ family room, probably because of the firewall separating this area from the rest of the house. Now I have no problems.
