    Pretty Good

    I bought this to replace an older router that did not serve some of the rooms in my house. It did solve that problem. However, I did not find the speed to be much different than my 5-year old router. Not sure if that is due to the quality of the router other issues.

    Have had this router for about 2.5 years. There were no issues for quite some time. However, after about a year, my TV and AppleTV would loose connection and buffer a lot. Solved that issue with Cat 5 cables. Now the router will just randomly loose connection about once a week. Have to use the app on my phone to restart the router. Once that process completes, there are no issues for about another week. It is frustrating but not a huge issue. We are a household of 2 with average usage (computer, 2 phones, tablet, TV and AppleTV).

    Slow Internet Speed

    This router significantly slowed my internet speed. My wired speed is 115 mbps. The max speed with this router was only 32-34 mbps. I am usually a loyal Linksys customer, but I am now looking at other brands. Three weeks ago, I purchased the Linksys Velop Mesh System. Within the first hour of use, we reset it three times. After hours of troubleshooting and approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours on the phone with Linksys, it was determined that one of the nodes was defective. After removing the defective node, it was more reliable, however, the speed was still slow. The mesh system crashed every time I tried to fax. The printer had to be hard wired in order to send a fax. I returned it and purchased the Linksys Max-Stream AC1900. It didn't crash, but I could never get our internet speed above 34 mbps. We experienced constant buffering with all of our devices. I returned the second Linksys to Best Buy and received a warning regarding the multiple returns in the past 30 days.

    Poor Tech Support

    After attempting to setup the router, for forty five minutes, I contacted tech support that want to share my screen for setup and charge me an additional fee. After spend time (90+ minutes) on the phone with some that could hardly talk English the setup was complete. The normal setup web-page from the instruction manual gave a error that there system was down or being uploaded and try again. When tech support came on the phone the directed me to a different address. At one point I was asked to get a paperclip (not shown in instruction manual as equipment needed) to reset the unit. Just getting started with the tech trying to get simple the serial and model number to him was painful. POOR TECH SUPPORT and even asking to spend more money.

    Bad Experience

    After having a n300 router preform very well in my house for over 2 years it finally gave out. I decided to go with this router based off specs. Right into the first day we had dropped connections in the same room as the router. Just to make sure it was not the modem I checked straight from it every time the router went down and the modem was testing good.

    Websites freeze and quite working intermitently

    I recently purchased this router as an upgrade to my existing older ASUS RT-N66U. Shortly after installing the unit my family and I noticed that web pages were suddenly freezing up and we had to drop the wireless connection and re-enable it again to continue on. The problem was more than annoying for all of us using different wireless devices on both the 2.4G and 5G bands. After many hours of phone calls and troubleshooting with tech support I finally demanded an RMA and received one today. Tech support was always available but continually asked me to reboot the router and reinstall the firmware. They just would not allow me to simply get an RMA. I will be sending this product back for replacement in hopes this situation was a fluke. I am back on my old wireless ASUS router and everything is working fine.

    Horrible Performance

    This router worked for only a brief period of time before I began encountering issues. The reviews gave a false impression of how the router will perform, I would give it 0 stars if I could. This router has issues establishing connections with devices that’s I have previously connected to the network. I have done full resets on all devices, and this has done nothing to help fix the issue. I contacted customer support, and they were just as unhelpful, I spent an extended period of time on the phone until they eventually said “it is the other devices having the issue”. I have already tested the devices on a different router and they worked just fine, so it is not an issue related to the connecting devices. I wish I had seen these issues earlier so that I could return this device.

    Software leaves a lot to be desired

    The installation attempts to be consumer friendly but just results in real setup options being either extremely difficult to find or not available at all. The DHCP server works for a short while then stops handing out new IP addresses. There is no useful log entry that would show a problem in this area and the support desk answer is to assign all my devices a reserved address! This is hardly an answer for visiting family members and their smart phones for instance. Rebooting the router starts the DHCP again but only for a few hours. I upgraded to the latest firmware but still no difference. Returned the router and bought a Netgear replacement which works fine.

    Worked great for a couple weeks, then...

    The wired side of the router appears to be reliable and fast, however the wireless side of the router only worked for about 2 weeks before we started noticing problems. We lost wireless connectivity intermittently at first. Now we are barely able to get a wireless connection to any device. We tried firmware and software updates but saw no improvement. Our last wireless router lasted years with no issues until it completely died. This was a very disappointing purchase which are returning after a little more than 2 months of use.

    If I could give less than zero stars I would, this router is garbage and the customer service is too. This product starterd giving me trouble shortly after purchase but out of best buys return window. I've spent hours on the phone with linksys customer service and have gotten nowhere. Everyone I call they want to do a factory reset which I've done 5 times with them. Every time they say another person has to call me back, and there's never a manager there to talk to.

    AWFUL Router

    Replaced my netgear router with this trash. It set up fine. but now my downloads went form 1 to 2 mins. to 20 or more. download speeds never gets over 300mb or less. This is the worst router I have ever had. I even called customer service and everything they help me do didn't do anything to help. STAY away from this router.

    Lots of Dropouts & Connection Problems

    Very disappointed with this purchase. Our Windows PCs intermittently lose internet connectivity. It won't allow my Apple Airport Express to connect via Airplay to play iTunes music remotely. I missed the 15 day BestBuy return so it's an expensive brick.

    Had problems from day 1. Figured it was my modem or something with cable company. Worked through all other possible scenarios. Replaced a lot of other stuff. 5 months after buying this router. It dies! $200 for 5 months of aggravated service... No Thank you!

    Did not work

    Purchased today. It did not work as it only had speed of 1.5mps. After an hour on the line with Linksys rep and them updating the firmware, they told me my best bet was to return it and get a new one. Stay away.
