Wasn't quite plug n play, but resetting my modem and router got it working. Low ping, good for gaming. Dual band. Was easy to change my WiFi names and passwords on 192.168.1.1. Was looking at some more expensive models but I pay for the cheapest speed so this should work fine. If your internet connection is faster than 100 mbps then you might look at a better model with gigabit ports. Otherwise, this one will do the job perfectly and at a decent price.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was easy to set up and I was happy with it until my internet provider bumped up my download speed to 300 mbps at no extra cost, and I found out this router, despite Linksys claims of being capable of over 500 mbps, maxxed out under 100 mbps. I found out by connecting my modem directly to my computer, taking the router out of the link. Actually, my WiFi was streaming at under 50 mbps, which is pretty standard to get half your speed over WiFi. But just running the signal through the router via Ethernet cables also choked the signal down under 100 mbps to my desktop. So, this does the job for an inexpensive router, but don't expect blazing speeds.

The internet port of the Linksys E5400 is limited to a maximum speed of up to 10/100 Mbps. Even with an upgraded subscription speed, the router will not deliver speeds beyond 100 Mbps because it is limited to 10/100 Mbps only.

It is easy to set it up.

Initially after connecting this router, one Windows and one Linux PC could only connect to a small number of websites, the same ones. The assigned IP addresses were incorrect. They should have been in the 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.107 range, which I set in the router's online setup page. After disconnecting and then reconnecting the router twice, everything is now working fine. Cons: No activity lights - not a major issue. The power cord could be a least a foot longer - it's about 4 feet.
