Q: Can I switch from 2.5 to 5 G and switch back as needed
A: Hi, DNice. You can select which band or network you will connect your devices to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz with the Linksys E5400 Dual-Band AC1200 Router.
Q: I have a 2 story house, 4 devices,will this work downstairs also ?
A: Works fine in mine. But is yours a 1,200 square foot two story house or a 12,000 square foot two story house?
Q: What max mbps can this router handle?
A: Hi, Ben. The 2.4 Ghz band supports up to 300Mbps while the 5GHz band supports up to 867Mbps.
Q: Is this router has QoS setting? Can I limit down speed, has it this smart feature? Thank you.
A: Yes. For guidance on configuring device prioritization for the Linksys E5400, please visit the following link: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=316214
Q: Can you use a prepaid AT&T data hotspot wifi card with this to use hotspot?
A: Hi, Linda. Our Linksys routers along with the Linksys E5400 needs to be connected to a modem/gateway or upstream device with an active internet connection, for it to work.
Q: does this work with windows 7
A: Yes, Kenny. It should work as long as the device is capable of both wired and wireless connections.
A: Probably not in the way you are expecting. It CAN be used to get the printer connected to WiFi, but there's a lot of other configuration necessary to use the printer afterward. What you want is something like a TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router(TL-WR902AC) for example, which is suited to your purpose when configured correctly.
Q: Does this work with Spectrum?
A: Yes, Abdul. The router will work with any Internet Service Provider.
