Medical Alert falls flat for our family

this review is very specific. We did not test its usage, functionality, or accuracy. Instead, it was categorically rejected because of its weight. It is supposed to warns the family if the person wearing it has a fall, but instead, the device falls down in 'utility chute' for our family.

Luvely which is a Best Buy company doesnt stand behind their product. This was not even 4 months old. The charger works sometimes and sometimes not. Tried to get it replaced , was told I would have to buy a new one. The fall detection doesnt work reliably either. I was told my mother "fell too slowly" that simce she tried to break her fall it didnt register. To be fair, when you push the button a person answers quickly and they are always nice. Just do not believe the adds that indicate it will always detect a fall.

The Lively Mobile 2 Mobile Alert Device gives peace of mind for our aging adults. It is a one button medical alert device. This device is a medical alert for 24/7 help for emergencies, big or small. It is as easy as hitting one large button on the device to be connected to a response agent. It has enhanced GPS so they can confirm your access quickly. The best part of this is that you can wear it around your neck on the fall detection lanyard or on your waist, belt or purse which allows you to wear it ouside of your home so if you have a fall at the grocery store or out in the yard picking up leaves as my MIL loves to do - this is the perfect companion for your safety. It's easy to press the button to call the agent or it will automatically be called if it detects a fall. Then it can be set to alert your friends and family on thier smartphone in the event of a call for service. The device is also waterproof so it can be worn in the shower. The device has a standby battery time of up to 40 hours and can even work with Alexa. The basic plan is $24.99 per month which comes with Ask Lively, Urgent response, and Lively Link (this is when you press the button). If you want to connect ot a Care Advocate or Nurse on Call - you can upgrade to the Premium plan for $34.99 per month. *The fall detection is an extra $9.99 per month.

Small Medical Alert Device with Fall Detection

The Lively Mobile2 with 'Fall Detection' makes good sense for family members, or caregivers of people struggling with balance. It is simple, easy to use and small enough to be comfortable. I have several family members who need something like this for 'peace of mind'.
One of the features of the device is that in includes Urgent Nursing Access if you need quick assistance regarding medical issues.
The Lively Mobile 2 uses a cellular network combined with GPS so it can be used away from home as well as in the home.
The fall detection system seems to work well. I left the device in my coat pocket and accidentally dropped the coat on a chair. The device immediately chirped up an audible message that If I want to cancel the call, push the button in the middle of the device. That was very reassuring. The drop was less than 2 feet so it appears to be very sensitive.
The packaging says it will last 40 hours on a full charge. So far, I've gone nearly 2 days without charging the device.
The subscription does not require a long term commitment!
In exchange for this review, I have been provided the sample product free of charge by Best Buy.

Fantastic little device. I am using this device for my parents who recently had a fall. With the available fall detection on this device, I am comforted now that if she falls again, she will be covered. Additionally, the device claims to be waterproof. Waterproof is a bonus since a lot of heart falls do happen on wet surfaces such as in in the shower battery life appears to be excellent. I’ve had this device for a little under a month and I have no complaints about it. What is advert appears to be solid enough that if someone did fall on this device, I don’t believe it would break, luckily I haven’t had to have her use it yet. I also love that she can be completely mobile with this as it doesn’t require a base station so trips into town are covered as well as anywhere in the home. The premium planning includes a nurse on call which is fantastic for her since her health insurance offers it but it’s often a very long. Wait to get to someone. I would recommend this to anyone who has parents that are at risk of falling or have fallen in the past and want to have that peace of mind.

Excellent device if you need it

The first thing you notice when you open the box is how big the device is, considering that it should be worn consistently. But it is intended for seniors or mobility challenged people so it wouldn’t behoove the company to make a compact device that would be hard to use. The primary button, which is used to call for help, is large and easy to press. When you press it, a voice prompt lets you know that you are calling for help and that you need to press it again in order to cancel. This makes for an ideal fail-safe set up. Similarly, if you (simulate a) fall, the device initiates a call for help that you have to actively cancel.
The box includes the main device, a belt clip holster, a lanyard for wearing around the neck, a drop-in dock, and a USB-C 5V/1A charger. There is an obnoxious green light until you drop it in and then it blinks while charging. But again, for the intended audience, the indicators are useful.
At the sub-$100 price, the device is excellent for peace of mind for yourself or loved one. It invokes memory of the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” ads from the 80’s. The plans are fairly priced compared to the prescription devices out there at $25 a month for push-button service, $35 a month for on-demand consulting with nurse or care advocate services, and $10 a month for fall detection. The ability to call for a help immediately is the primary function. The higher tier would depend on your specific needs. Apple Watch does offer fall detection, so I wouldn’t recommend that add on if the user is already wearing an Apple Watch. All in all, a good product and a welcome addition to the growing selection of prescription-free, over the counter solutions for my aging father.

Medical Response Alert

The Lively mobile 2 medical response unit comes with a docking station for charging and testing. There is also a belt clip to hold the unit and a lanyard for fall detection. The lanyard has a magnetic clasp that pulls apart. The unit has a visual battery indicator on the back that is either green for charged or red for needs a charge and it will emit a tone. The enclosed literature does not specify how long the battery will last, it does however recommend that it be placed at its docking station to charge when not in use and at night when not in use.
When you open the box there is a notice to remind you to charge the unit before activating it.
Creating an account and setup went quickly and was easy. Testing the device by pushing the test button on the docking station worked as advertised. Testing by pushing the button on the device also worked as advertised. The volume is not adjustable as stated in the user manual. The manual also states that you should hold the device no closer than 2 inches from your mouth while talking to the service provider.
I have a sister who is very sick and keeps having strokes and falling over. This device is wonderful as she does not have to push the button to summon help. With the Lively app I get notified every time her device goes off. This has only happened once since I got this device, it is a pleasant feeling knowing that I can be right there for her without stifling her need to feel independent in her living arrangements. I would recommend looking into the Lively Mobile2 Medical Alert pendant.

Great Product, Excellent Support

One Year and I've grown to appreciate this product even more!
It has occasionally set off false alarms, usually when you are in bed and accidentally press the button, but it is simple to stop, and survives a cold/hot shower w/o issues.
I have fallen at least three times in the past year, and each time I have called for help right away—it could save my life.
It should be mentioned that charging the battery is simple: simply place it on the stand, wait for the back lights to flash green, and it will indicate when the battery is low and when the unit is ready.
The lithium battery can no longer hold a charge for more than a day and a half after a year, which is amazing given that most electronic devices with comparable batteries have much shorter lifespans, especially after a year.
The battery replacement will be the task at hand.
Considering the device's engineering and quality, I suspect it will be far less complicated than the majority of electrons that rely on rechargeable batteries.
Great Product!

We were looking for something to help keep my mother in law safe. She lives alone and her new apartment didn’t have an emergency call button like the previous one.
I talked to my wife about getting something like the Lively Mobile2 because it’s added safety and extra piece of mind. Plus, who can forget the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up commercially,” advertising similar devices.
The opportunity came up to try the Lively Mobile2 device, so we went for it. The device was very easy to setup. Just connect your service (there is a monthly fee), charge it, and it’s ready to use.
As for the service, the price is a little on the high side. Yes, many phones have safety features that can call for help by pressing a certain button, but not many elderly folks will know, or even remember that, in an emergency situation. With the Lively Mobile2, they wear it sound their neck and can call with one simple press of a button.
We feel a sense of relief knowing that she has this device for emergency situation. I would definitely recommend it.

Great for elderly family members!

Back at the end of 2023, over Christmas time, my mom fell when we were going to one of our family members house’s for Christmas. I was following not far behind her and she caught her toe on a step and went down. Luckily, I was there to help her, but it got me thinking of what could happen if it wasn’t there. Unfortunately, that thought came to fruition just a couple weeks later because she fell again, but this time I was not there as she lives alone.
And so either the fall over Christmas or the fall after the new year caused her to break her shoulder and she ended up having to have surgery to put a plate and a rod in along with a few screws. She still is not fully healed up.
I had been thinking about getting her some type of medical device that would alert authorities and/or myself if she were to fall and luckily, I was able to find this device and able to give it a try and we’ve been using it for the past few weeks.
Luckily, we have not had to use it as far as her falling, but she is grown accustomed to wearing it and I know that if we did need to use it that everything would be OK because she is wearing that device and it would detect her fall and even if it didn’t, she’s got a button to alert someone if she does fall. This has given me peace of mind because I live over 2 1/2 hours away from my elderly mother. I am extremely happy that we have gotten this device and she has been able to use it.

Having a loved on that needs monitoring and support can be a challenge to manage. I have found the Lively Mobile All-In-One product and service to be a helpful service to give piece of mind. The device itself is pretty straightforward with a large button to send an alert if needed. The user should have very little issue with its use. The unit appears very Saturday and well built. The charger is easy to use and the battery itself will last several days. It’s does give clear notification of when it needs to be charged. Keep in mind the service does use cellular LTE service so you need to be sure you have coverage. The location based tracking gives piece of mind as well. The pricing for the service is very competitive with two plans from $24.99 to $34.99 per month depending on the features you need. You can add fall detection to either for another $10 per month. We did test the service and the response was very quick and left very few concerns about having access to care when needed. Overall I would recommend this.

I have my mother in law living with us and she lives with us in our alternate dwelling unit (ADU). She strives to be independent but as she ages she is declining in her ability to move around. We also notice that her balance is not all it was before. She thinks she can do a lot still but her body says.... UH "No you can't". About 1 year ago she was trimming a bush on a short ladder and thank goodness I was around the corner and was walking towards her. I literally say her start to tilt and I started to make a mad dash towards her and caught her in the Nick of time.
I told her she was lucky I was there and she could have gotten really hurt and she check chuckled it off....
So frustrating...
Anyway so with that story and her well being in that gives a sense of what type caregivers.my wife are.
We had to slowly ask her and convince her that she needed this device as she is prideful and stubborn. But she eventually said ok..
Adding this Lively Mobile to our tool set to watch after her adds piece of mind.
Setup was super easy. I charged it and followed the directions on account info and we were all set.
2 ways to wear this device. 1 a clip 1 a necklace..
The fall detector is great...
1 button use makes it simple to use.
The only con is the volume is a bit low with the speaker. I don't think there is a way to make it louder. Manufacturer might want to change this as older folks are harder of hearing and it would beneficial if it was louder.
Other than that. Great device for what it is intended.
There is a monthly service but for piece of mind it is worth it.

I did not realize the device cannot contact urgent care unless there is a nearby cell phone or landline. This renders the cost for fall detection questionable in my mind.
