This blu-ray doesn’t have any additional special features, it’s just the movie with Japanese audio/English subs and the English dub which is pretty great. But the movie itself is really special. It’s a part of the Sound! Euphonium franchise, but watching that series is not required to enjoy it, even though watching that first makes this movie more meaningful. As to be expected from Kyoto Animation, the animation is gorgeous. The director, Naoko Yamada, is well known for storytelling through animation, so even during silence there is always some kind of movement to show the emotions or thoughts of the characters. A film about high schoolers in a concert band needs good music, and not only is the music perfect, one scene in particular is significant for being so emotional with it’s music performance that it’s one of my favorite single scenes across all media. It is absolutely worth a buy if you enjoy slower-paced, emotional stories.

Fantastic Film with Beautiful Animation. I enjoyed just as much as the Studios other film, A Silent Voice.
