Excellent in its shape, weight, 3-buttons functions (1-assignable function) and its button location, excellent tracking on almost any surface, the On and Off switch has its dual purpose, I like the battery for being AA instead of AAA size. It comes with a leather feel pouch case with zipper. I left the Con issue for last, it's the scroll wheel feel is a bit mechanical and noisy but I don't use it often.

My New Favorite Mouse

This mouse fits perfectly in my hand. The laser and sensor works on all surfaces. I use a white glass table and it works fine. I have not found a surface where it did not work. My experience: this is not true with all mice. It comes with a nice looking, soft case to keep it from getting scratched when you toss it into your computer bag. I especially like the on/off switch that slides over the laser diode when in the off position. The Logitech Unified dongle lets you connect multiple Logitech devices to your computer using only one USB port is a plus.
You can change how the scroll wheel feels by pressing down on it to switch it from a free-spinning wheel to a ratchet spin feel. In the free-spinning mode, you might accidentally zoom up on your web browser because the scroll wheel will continue to spin, even a little bit, as you try to copy something using Ctrl+C, it gets interpreted as a Ctrl+scroll which is recognized by most web browsers as a zoom function. This won't happen to a lot of people, but it happens to me since I use a lot of copy and paste within a web browser. Solution: stop the free-spinning scroll wheel or put the scroll wheel in ratchet mode.
Other than that, this is my new favorite mouse.

This is the smoothest and most comfortable mouse that I’ve ever owned. It works on any surface and without a mouse pad. Excellent for traveling!

And, I've used a lot of mice in my lifetime, having been an electronics engineer working with PCs since the original IBM desktop was offered, which shows my age. It a great size, easy to pack away with your laptop, fits your hand great, and has a nice form-fitting zip-up case. Very good battery life. Acceleration and movement is well refined. Works on every surface I've found including clear glass. I program the top center button for double-click, which expedites opening files. I could go on and on, but it just works like what you'd want from a high quality mouse (with this purchase, I now own 4 of this model).

Great Resposive Mouse with Speed Scrolling

First off, I want to mention that the first one I got was defective. The mouse has a free flowing wheel (activated and deactivated by pressing the wheel like a button). The wheel was not properly balanced and therefore would freely scroll back or forth so that the heavier side was down which meant that everytime I tried reading a website I had to hold the wheel at the point that I was interested in reading. If this had been my first one, I might have taken it back and gotten a different mouse. This is my fourth hyperscroll mouse. 2 - Performance MX mice - home and office. 2 - Anywhere mice - gave one to a nephew and this one. Anyway, I absolutely love the hyperscrolling. No scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scrolling to get to the bottom of a long website - just flick the wheel to spin it down to the bottom and touch it to stop. Therefore, I knew something was not right with this mouse. I easily took it back to Best Buy and traded it for another one which I am currently using and I love it. This mouse has all the features that I require in a mouse. Back and forward buttons, (obviously left and right buttons), and the hyperscroll wheel. Now that I have used a hyperscroll, when I happen to have help someone else on their computer and use their mouse without it, the slow scrolling gets on my nerves.
I cannot say anything about the longevity of the mouse, but I do enjoy using it daily. The battery life seems to be very good and it even comes with a small zippered enclosure. Nice.

Best Mouse So Far

being a traveler, I was so happy with a mouse so practical. It works on any surface so I dropped the mouse pad that I was carrying with me every where I went. Size is also optimum, not so big that makes it comfortably fit in my brief case and not so small so I can still get a got grip and control. Power consumption is also good with the many reduced power consumption feature the battery lasts forever.

I travel for work frequently and many hotels seem to have glass tops on their desks these days, rendering a regular mouse useless. This is the answer! It works beautifully on glass tops, so much so that I could hardly believe it. It works on my pant leg, wood, my arm, and just about any other reasonably smooth surface. Wireless signal works well and the battery life seems good. The only thing I wish this mouse had was bluetooth so that the wireless dongle didn't take up a USB slot. Otherwise, it's been great for the couple months I've used it so far. Add in the great sale price (cheaper than Amazon, even including tax) and free shipping and this was a win. I haven't tried the newer model, but well worth the money to get the original version, particularly if it's back on sale for <$30.

This is the best most comfortable mouse on the planet; however, if you use it under extreme work conditions (design) for a year or more the left button has a tendency to start double or triple clicking with only one click. Basically the left button just will not hold up to extreme use. I probably run about 8 to 10 sets of batteries through one before the left button starts acting up, and a set of batteries usually last about six to nine weeks. At the end of the day the mouse is good enough for me to keep putting up with this problem. I like the mouse so much that I'm on my third or fourth one; that should tell you how good the mouse is; plus, this mouse is the perfect size for both laptop and desk top use. Other than the left button wearing out I can say nothing negative about this mouse. I really hope Logitech fixes this problem, but if not, I at the least hope they keep manufacturing the mouse; I would hat to be without it!

Great mouse with Great features for fast scrolling

The Good:
So I'm on my third Logitech Anywhere Mouse. As a home office and occasional road warrior, my mouse and I do many miles together. I like the scroll wheel for fast, accurate & frictionless scrolling and that the mouse works on any surface, even glass or shiny conference room tables. The unified 'nano' receiver is tiny plugs into a recessed USB on my laptop and just forget about it. Sync'd my 2 Logitech keyboards to it also. Now the mouse does consume batteries (2 x AA) faster than other mice, but this mouse does more work. On average seem to last about 3 months, but if you download the Logitech App to your systray, it will alert you when the batteries are getting low.
The Not so Good:
Why on the third? They seem to last about 2 years with my heavy use. ( 8 - 10 hours day, 5 days / wk, 50 wks / year). The first one I had lasted a very long time. The second one I bought to replace #1, had a fault (my opinion) that the scroll wheel would move without my direction which was annoying when working on docs and copying/pasting. So I switched back to #1 again for another 18 months. The left mouse button eventually started to get unreliable when clicking / double clicking, so now on to #3, which is working like a champ!

This mouse is arguably the best mouse you can buy for a laptop if you need one. You can use the mouse on ANY normal surface, particularly glass. The USB receiver/dongle has a low profile so it really does not stick out or interfere with using the mouse since most current laptops have their USB ports on the sides rather than on the back or front. Battery usage is pretty good too. Been using the mouse for a month on good rechargable batteries. Though most travel mice are on the small side, this feels fine for its size (I have modestly large hands). Really good travel mouse overall.

This is the 6th time I've purchased this model mouse. I bought my first one in 2012 and have loved the well thought out design and the comfortable, natural, feel in my hand. It works on all surfaces and the battery life is great. It has an on/off switch and a carry pouch that help extend life when tossed in my laptop bag. I'm fairly picky about mice and usually find it difficult to be pleased with these devices, but this Logitech - Anywhere Mouse MX passes my scrutiny with ease. This is the 6th one I've purchased because I've added one to each of my home computers and my children also loved it so much that I purchased one for each of them as well -- which kept them happy also. Great job Logitech!

The Logitech - Anywhere Mouse MX Wireless Laser Mouse is an excellent choice for all users. It feels comfortable, has more than enough buttons and controls, battery life is very good, and the supplied integrating receiver eliminates multiple receivers for wireless keyboards etc. It's higher cost (compared to other $10 - $15 mice) is reasonable for the high quality you get. I have several of these mice, and would strongly recommend it for all users.

This mouse really does work anywhere. I've used it on dark colored surfaces and a glass table. It fits my hand well and not too big when I put it in my camera bag. I also like that it has a place to store the micro receiver so it won't get lost. The only issue I have, it's just a personal issue, is that I wish it was a little heavier. Being a gamer, I'm used to heavier mice. Other than that, I would definitely buy another one.

I love my Anywhere Mouse! This is the 2nd one I've purchased. My 1st Logitech Anywhere Mouse lasted about 4 or 5 years. The back and forth buttons on the left side are very useful. The scroll wheel can be unlocked for quickly skimming through information. The size fits my hand perfectly.

I now have about 4-5 of this mouse version. It costs more, but when on sales (about the only time I buy it) it is worth it. I generally use ultrabooks and leave the narrow receiver plugged in and it does not get in the way. The mouse itself is not the smallest mouse for travel, but the size is a good compromise, and after time you forget that it is smaller than a standard mouse.
I always want a forward and back buttons, and the mouse wheel is a weighted version that does both free spin and notched control movement. Very nice movement on the buttons and wheel. All very high quality and last for years (I bought my first one several years ago, and all of them are still in regular use).

Amazing Scroll Wele

Where do i begin? The mouse is incredibly smooth. One thing that i didn't like was that it registers every little movement but that is easily fixable in windows, all you have to do is lower the sensitivity. It is incredibly precise and that is expected with a $50 mouse. The mouse has a nice heft to it and it looks amazing. There is a small sliding cover for the power button which also protects the sensor.
The scroll wheel is incredibly smooth and it turns with so little effort. The scrolling is also very quick. There are two programmable buttons near your thumb (if yo're right handed.) The drivers installed seconds after i plugged in the receiver and it worked right off the bat. I use windows 7, linux, and mac osx lion and it works fine on both. Not saying that it wont work with other OS's, i just haven't tried them. There is almost too much packaging but i'm not arguing with extra protection.
It shipped 3 days before scheduled, which is also 3 days from the day i placed the order. :D
There aren't many things i would have changed except the price (duh), so this is an incredibly well rounded mouse. I normally don't use ambidextrous mouses (or whatever they're called) since they aren't as comfortable but i must say unless you are gonna be holding the mouse everywhere you go, it should be fine. It also comes with batteries, and a small carrying pouch which is flimsy but its still more than what most other mouses come with.

Bought this to replace an old MS Laser mouse that finally quit after so many years of great use.
Pros: Works on all kinds of surfaces (my bare desk top, chair arm, etc.), programmable buttons (2 side buttons I've programmed as my browser back and forward button..also programmed the scroll wheel the same when the wheel is tilted either left or right), scroll wheel can either be clicking or free wheel, battery life, compact travel pouch. on/off switch also protects lens from dirt when not in use.
Cons: A bit small for my hands (I'm sure kids would love the size)
Summary: It's a great little mouse, and I'd definitely recommend to others...in fact my gamer nephew liked mine so much, I bought one for him.

The price tag is a little over the top, I think I got this at $40 over the holidays, but the regular price of $60 is a bit much for the smaller form factor laptop mouse. That said, this mouse works like a dream. The dark field laser is fantastic, tracks great on every surface I've thrown at it thus far. Recommended if you definitely need the smaller mouse, but if you can sweat the larger mouse have the extra $20, the Logitech Performace MX is pretty much everything you could want.
