Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the G305 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse, particularly its balanced weight and long battery life. Users appreciate its overall performance and ease of use, considering it a great value for the price. While some find the side buttons less than ideal and have concerns about the scroll wheel, the mouse is generally praised for its wireless capabilities, suitable size, high DPI, speed, and fast response time.

Overall, this is a great mouse especially for the price. I mostly play Valorant and Fortnite, and it performs really well in both games. It's lightweight, compact, and fits my hand perfectly (I have relatively small hands), so I really appreciate its smaller size. Larger mice tend to feel uncomfortable for me. The only issue I've encountered is with the scroll wheel. Sometimes it double-scrolls, which can be frustrating. In Valorant, it occasionally causes me to jump unexpectedly, and in Fortnite, it'll switch weapons multiple times even though I only scroll once. I'm not sure why this happens, but it's been the only major downside so far. It does feel a bit cheap and like it could break easily but honestly, for the price, it's a solid option. Despite the scroll issue, I still really enjoy using it and would recommend it for casual to mid-level gaming.

Thanks for the thoughtful review. The G305 LIGHTSPEED really shines for lightweight, responsive gameplay—especially in fast-paced titles like Valorant and Fortnite. That compact design is a win for smaller hands, and the HERO sensor delivers impressive precision for the price. Logitech

    Stellar product w/ workarounds to it's trade-offs

Comparing it to CoolerMaster's MM531, the Razer Naga Chroma 2014, and most recently Logitechs' G502 Lightspeed & G502 Wired — all previously devices I've owned, the stickiness of the tracking of the tracking of the G305 is on a level I've never experienced in person before. I always thought that the value of a gaming-mouse that appears to have nothing going on, physically lacking the plethora of buttons and feature that alternative preferred mice have, would have performance only as good as the number of options it boasts. Well, I wasn't wrong in the perspective, it's more-so that the perspective wasn't balanced. Now, the G502 is no slouch by any means, but after fine tuning the two G502's that I have, to match the performance profile of the G305 in Logitech's software AND in Windows input settings, the G305 still has a visually gratifying on-screen tracking ability on 120Hz & higher displays. That said, obviously the compromises are the button options, though I still make it work, getting 12 buttons mapped to the G305, as opposed to 17 mapped buttons on the G502 & 19 mapped on the G502X. So, coming from MMO mice when I started PC gaming after 2013, one could imagine how I'd cleanup with so many programmable buttons at the disposal of an opposable thumb. The steal, was catching this on sale at 30usd with an applied $10 BestBuy Gift Card, plus a 20% discount code from relinquishing an old PC peripheral through the BestBuy Logitech Recycling program. The icing on this cake, is having an end-user friendly iteration from the brand that boasts an easy-access replaceable battery, unlike the G502 variants with on-board lithium batteries that inevitably swell in size due to lacking a "Battery Protection" feature that restricts the battery from charging over ~80%, resulting in disassembling the G502 mice to remove the wired-in lithium battery to prevent further damage, it fails to hold a charge through extensive use. If Were to gripe on little things regarding the G305: firstly, the USB dongle is a tedious thing to remove from it's stored position, being on-the-go frequently & having larger fingers w/ no nails most times. Secondly, it would've been nice to have on/off toggle control over the indicator light behind the primary/secondary buttons via the GHub software. Lastly, the USB dongle isn't engraved with the name of the device, as the G502 Lightspeed variants have "G502" laser-etched onto the heads of the dongles (*tea sip* see what I accidentally did there? #UniversalAlignment), enabling me to easily identify which I need to pull among the ROG Falchion & multiple versions of G502 Lightspeed's that I have. Stellar product with workarounds to it's trade-offs, compared to it's predecessors & brand-alternatives.

It's good, 8/10 What's good: The performance, it's amazing for a not so premium price. It's on par with wired mice that are even more expensive than this, and even more expensive Logitech mice, like the g502 x. However, the dpi max is 12000, but if that is something that's stopping you from buying this mouse, please review your life choices. The buttons: The buttons feel light and easy to actuate, however, they feel a tad bit hollow, and clacky, which I don't like. The side buttons suck though, so that is something to consider Okay things: The design: it's the classic egg shaped Logitech body they've been using since the g102. It's great for fingertip and claw users. But if you have big hands and use other grips, it'll be uncomfortable over an extended period of time. The weight by default is 99g, which is terrible by today's standards l, but using some tin foil (which didn't burn the mouse btw) and a AAA battery bought my unit's weight down to 86 grams. The sides are grippy and the build is robust and high quality. Bad things: Software: wow, Logitech ghub sucks so bad, you may need to consider this. The user interface is confusing, but it can get used to. The software by the manufacturer makes a huge difference to the overall user experience. Yeah, that's that, hope you have a good day

The mouse works amazing and for the price you can’t beat it! Most people hate the battery, but I kinda like it if you get the right ones they last well over two months and I mean active use.

This is a great versatile and durable mouse for the price. This is my primary travel mouse between work, trip and home office. Tracking is good and is plently for office work and gaming. Onlyminor downside is use of AA battery, which thows the weight balance a bit off, but still plenty light. Battery life is good, as I have been using this mouse for constant 8+ hourse a day, 5 days week for what has been about 6 months and still have not had to change battery.

Excellent Upgrade with some personal strings attac

Bought this to replace my M705 that recently died to enhance my setup, I'd have to say this is an upgrade in almost every way. Lightweight but incredibly durable, intuitive to use, good button placement. Also very high quality for its pricepoint. There are two downsides, one of which isn't the mouse's fault: the first, which is less of a fault of the mouse than just a function I miss of my previous model, is the lack of a button below the scroll wheel that affects the scroll speed, and instead controls the DPI sensitivity. I am likely out of habit to click that button and instead switch the mouse's sensitivity instead. Again, more of a personal failing, but I would rather that button go towards a familiar function. In that same vein, the second failing is that the DPI is very low and you have to download the GHub software to control the sensitivity yourself. It's not a dealbreaker and it helps to have more customization, but needing additional software to work that customization rather than being plug and play is going to vary your mileage. In short, would recommend, maybe wait for a sale but is worth the list price.

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review of the G305 LIGHTSPEED! We're thrilled to hear you're finding it an excellent upgrade in almost every way from your previous M705, appreciating its lightweight yet durable design, intuitive use, and button placement. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the button functionality and the need for the G Hub software to adjust DPI. It's valuable to understand your perspective on these points. We're glad you'd recommend it and appreciate your insight on the pricing. Logitech

Nice easy to use reliable mouse that I have put in many hours of gaming with since buying and it still hasn’t ran out of battery. Not too big of a difference in a more expensive one that I’ve noticed, it’s fairly lightweight and easy to get used to.

Excellent mouse. Using it for productivity/work right now. If you're looking for a gaming mouse, there are lighter/better options (that will cost 2-3 times as much) but this is still a great piece of hardware for the price.

It's not a bad mouse for what you pay. It works fine for the most part. The connection is pretty good. Logitech needs to figure out their app though because it has given me problems. The most annoying thing about this is the clickiness in the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel kind of stops clicking and makes a squishy sound. It still works, it just sounds terrible

Good mouse for the price. The Lightspeed connection never fails. Batter life is relatively good and easy to get up and going again. Just a quick switch of a double a battery and your off to the races again. For hardcore gamers I definitely wouldn't recommend this mouse. Just way better options out their with similar prices. I say this mouse is more for casual users. Have it in heavy use for a year and its still holding up well. Good overall

This mouse makes me feel like I have ridiculously large hands. It’s too small and causes cramps but I just use it for general use, not any hardcore web surfing or gaming. The battery life is great and I no issues with lag at all. Just way too small for my hands. I use a different mouse while working so switching back and forth may very well be the cause of my opinion about its size. Cute color though.

Hello, Thanks for the honest feedback on the G305. We appreciate you mentioning the great battery life and responsiveness, even if the size wasn't ideal for you. Everyone's hand size is different, and it's important to find a comfortable fit. We do offer a variety of mouse sizes to choose from, so perhaps something like the MX Master series might be a better fit for larger hands in the future. We're glad you have a different mouse for work that works well for you!
