-Pros- Plentiful programmable buttons Fantastic tracking Arguably the best scroll wheel Infinite scroll button to allow endless scrolling with scroll wheel Attractive design Adjustable weights -Cons- Side grips Weight Comfort If you do any research on gaming mice then you will already know that this mouse is at the top or close to just about every reviewers list and on the surface it isn't hard to see why. Enough buttons to satisfy an MMO gamer, great button placement for FPS and MOBA gamers. It is also useful for those in the professional field, the infinite scroll option allows you to scan through documents and code much faster. The option of adjustable weights is a pro, but for me it became a con. The mouse is heavy without any weights added to it which was a pretty big con for me because I am used to light mice and it was confusing since this is not a wireless mouse. Most mice that I have tested in the gaming market are light without weights added, wireless mice being the only types to have a heavy weight to them. I believe the heavy weight is contributed to the scroll wheel that seems to be made of heavy metal, I said the scroll wheel is arguably the best because it feels incredible and the infinite scroll option is a huge plus, but I believe the material gives the overall weight of the mouse more weight which is a big con for me. The rubber feeling side grips seem to be gaining traction in the gaming community unfortunately with reviewers complaining that it should be a standard option. I absolutely hate rubberized side grips or any type of grips for that matter. My skin is very oily and I participate in long gaming sessions with Mice that have no side grips and never drop or loose control of the mouse, but most seem to find side grips a must so take my displeasure with side grips with a grain of salt. The grips tend to dig into my skin and create discomfort for me personally. The button placement is well done, but I found the buttons themselves to be a bit too rigid for my grip style. The side buttons have a sharp angle to them and depending on your grip style your thumb will hit that angle instead of the intended area. I would always hit that angle which was a pretty big annoyance. I use the G400s as my daily driver and it has rounded soft touch buttons which give a much more comfortable feel. I would loved to of seen them put these or something similar into the 502. I wanted to give this mouse 2 stars instead of 3, but I feel my complaints don't seem to carry over to most and this mouse really is amazing, but I can't use it because of all the uncomfortable things I listed above. Spending extra money on a gaming peripheral should get you everything you are after and then some, so if you are in the same boat as me then don't just settle and continue with me to look for the ideal mouse.

A comfortable slick mouse, but the wheel...

I have a love-hate relationship with this mouse. I bought it based on the display I've seen at Bestbuy, it looks good and felt comfortable, in fact it's one of the most comfortable mouses I have ever used. It has really good features on the mouse, the buttons, button placement, clicking, programing, it's all great. I love the software for programing this mouse, it's very nice and easy to use. In no time you'll have your mouse setup. And while I love the look and feel of this mouse, there is on flaw I felt was overlooked — the mouse wheel. I loved the metal look of the wheel, and I do love that you can just set it loose to spin on its own for what seems like an eternity, however that's part of the problem. Because the metal wheel is so heavy, it actually feels very uncomfortable, scrolling and clicking. I have to put extra pressure on the wheel to move it and it makes my finger pretty numb after moving it for a bit. Unlocking the wheel doesn't help much, because at that point, just a small scroll up or down causes me to scroll too far. And each time I click down on the mouse, I can feel the tip of my finger going numb too. I kept the mouse and just traded with my GF, her R.A.T. 5 for my G502. She loves the G501 and I love the R.AT. 5. So in the end, it worked out. All the gripes I have with this mouse are personal, maybe someone with bigger hands, or longer fingers would enjoy this more. I've been told I have short cartoon fingers, so...

I have been using the Logitech G500 for years and loved it. After about 20 minutes of use I felt my hand getting tired. Once I put them side by side I could see that the G502 didn't have as much of a height/bulge in the palm as the G500. Because of lower height I had to pinch the mouse more between my thumb and pinky finger to move it. With the 500 I could rest my hand on it better. If you have bigger hands I don't recommend this mouse. I did like the styling and the way you could switch profiles with one of the programmable buttons which I couldn't do with the 500. The option to add weights is also a plus. If you have smaller hand or are used to a smaller mouse I would say give it a try.

This is obviously subject to personal preferences but I really didn't like this mouse. I play mainly FPS games perhaps 4 to 5 hours per week. I wanted to upgrade from my old G500 so the G502 seemed like a logical choice. I also wanted a corded mouse as the cord doesn't bother me much and I don't have to worry about battery. When I first tried the mouse I didn't like the feel. The plastic seemed cheap and way too slippery for my fingers. I use the "fingertip" grip and not a "palm" style grip. The mouse also seemed too light even after using all the weights. Technically, it's probably better than my G500 but I was not ready to trade comfort for accuracy.

The logitech g502 is rocking that 3366 sensor thats top of the line in the optical world giving you that 1:1 accuracy with 0 acceleration. The problem i had with the mouse is that its too narrow for my hand and the mouse is too top heavy for fps gaming. It comes with weights so u can distribute it to the bottom of the mouse for that balance but then the mouse becomes too heavy. If ur looking for a mouse with a lot of buttons and a good sensor then look no further but if u dont care about the buttons and only want the sensor for that fps gaming i suggest looking into the g pro or the g403.

I really like this mouse....until I got a g403. I did not realize how heavy the g502 was until I used the g403. Also the shape...I have smaller hands and use claw grip, the shape of this mouse, although it looks awesome, was fatiguing me over short sessions. I found myself pressing the sniper button all too often for my liking. Sensor does not feel as responsive as the g903 and the g403. I am PCMR and from what I gather YOU MUST OWN THIS MOUSE. So I bought it. It sits in my drawer and looks pretty doing it. :(

Scroll too loose, software needs more usability

Their software to set it up (Mac) could use more work. If you try to use mission control as a button, the software doesn't actually check to see what the keyboard shortcut for mission control is, meaning you must set it back to the default setting. As far as the mouse itself, its great except for the scroll wheel, I thought I would like it, but its too noisy and doesn't feel right when you get to the end of a scroll. I thought the free spin feature of the scroll wheel would be useful, however it is not and just makes it feel over-engineered.

    Going Back To My Deathadder

    Posted

I tried this mouse out of curiosity. I have a Deathadder 2013, which works well, but the higher DPI of this mouse attracted me. So I hooked this up. First thing I noticed, the wheel is clunky. You might get used to it, I found it just too distracting. Other than that, it seemed ok. Considering that a review is, by nature, subjective, I think the Deathadder is smoother. I've worn out one Razer, looks like I'll be doing it again. If you can handle the wheel on this mouse, you'll be fine.

This is one of the most used gaming mouse out there, unfortunately for me it seemed as though it was assembled with cheap plastics. Whenever you tilted the mouse up and down caused by the cheap plastic assembly. Nevertheless, most if not all of my friends have not felt such experience and genuinely consider the mouse as a top ranked gaming mouse.

The mouse is amazing! The only problem I had was my thumb was really sore after a couple of hours playing a game using it because the curve where your thumb goes was curved a little too much for my thumb. I don't have a large thumb or anything, it's just not quite opened enough for a thumb to comfortably sit there and be pushed over and over again as you move the mouse around. Super bummed though, because that's just the coolest freakin' mouse EVER! But I returned it. :(

The mouse works great. Just my right thumb still feels awkward on the side of the mouse where it’s caved in a bit. Should’ve got a mouse that’s more a round shape than having the funky caved in area. During FPS gaming I find myself adjusting my mouse around often just because of where my thumb is locked into place. I have long fingers and big hands. Maybe it’s not for big hands.

Picked this mouse up to day because it looked really cool and I was replacing a G500. Sadly this mouse is to small. I'm 6'4" with big hands and using this mouse for a short amount of time gaming leaves me with a great deal of pain in my mouse hand. This is because it is to small to fit in my hand and use the buttons. It's a shame because I like the buttons and really like the sniper thumb button.

This mouse replaces a gs 500 which also has 3 side buttons but unlike the gs 500 these buttons are bulky the first one being huge which becomes a problem for your thumb. you end up clicking it inadvertently. its a shame because had they just have left the buttons like the gs 500 this would be a great mouse. sadly this is the closes I could find to the gs 500.

I have to say that this is a nice mouse. has a lot of nice features that any gamer would appreciate. The weight is just right and also adjustable with the weights included. The reason why i only gave it 3 stars was due to the fact it is a little uncomfortable for users that have big hands. It's a little narrow on footprint which over time gets uncomfortable forcing you to use your fingertips to move the mouse.

I really had high hopes for this mouse. Two issues caused me to return it. First the scroll wheel has a shiny/slippery surface so it can be hard to scroll with. If you don't lock the scroll wheel it rattles. Second problem was just a personal issue of the mouse being too small width wise. Having larger hands, I felt the mouse just wasn't wide enough.

I love it. But I hate it. There is so much more they could do with these things but they take the cheap way out. The thing was flawless the first week but I can already feel the buttons not clicking right and it's skipping on my surface (I've tried multiple surfaces with no change and even recalibrating).

It is not personally my preference to use this mouse as I have bought another one. However, the lowest sensitivity on this mouse is still too sensitive for me to use. I have to change the game settings in order to use it at a speed I'm comfortable with. I've never had to do this with other mouses.

So my son is a less than average gamer. He saw a ton of reviews for this mouse. After a while of using he has stated that there really isn't anything special about this. Maybe I should have just purchased a $19 mouse and wouldn't know the difference.

Nice Mouse, BUT Wheel Is Too Loose

    Posted

I like everything about this mouse except the wheel. It's way too loose, and can easily be spun back and forth in either direction so that you can barely scroll to where you really want to be. I wish there was a way to adjust how freely it spins.
