For $100 less than retail, totally worth finally pulling the trigger on my own wheel. I thought I was settling for the “poor man’s” version; compared to my friend’s $,$$$ setup. I was blown away by the amazing responsiveness of wheel and realistic feel of wheel and pedals. Kids love it too, under supervision. 11 and 15 year olds that is.

solid buy... if you have the space
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i enjoyed the short time i spent using this wheel, but i quickly realized I do not have the proper setup to fully enjoy it. mounting it to the thin glass of my desk is not going to work, so i would have to buy a separate stand/desk (or dedicated racing frame) to mount comfortably. this would be a solid buy if you have the space for it. the wheel is quality, the pedals feel nice (though the brake is overly stiff). PS the manual shifter that is solid to accompany this is trash. steer clear (no pun intended).

Yes it needs updates. Updates wont happen on xbox. Out of the box it is a good belt drive system, and is simple to use for entry to sim racing.

So this ended up being a birthday/Christmas present for him. I was surprised how much the steering wheel makes a difference in these driving games. Cornering has never been easier. Maybe I'm just not used to the controller anymore (the last racing game I really played was Gran Turismo on the PS2... yeah, it's been a while). This set is solidly built, and you'll probably need to buy a stand for it; I haven't found a desk that it fits on so far. There are a lot of cables, so be aware of that if you have cats.

Okay starter, but there are better ones.

The gear drive makes itself known, and the limited force feedback means it get overwhelmed and start clipping early and often. The wheel also often "forgets" where straight ahead is, especially in Asseto Corsa and Forza. The pedals are okay out of the box, but the brake is far too stiff. You REALLY have to stand on it to get full braking.
