I am not sure exactly how far you can keep the mouse away from the laptop and have it work, but we have put the laptop across the living room and used the mouse on the other side and it works perfectly. (This was just out of curiosity). I purchased this in December 2015 and the batteries provided with the mouse have yet to die.

Cute and functional

I had bought a same model Logitech mouse a year ago and it is still working great. I've accidentally dropped it on the floor a few times and it has survived without so much as a crack or scratch. This new one just has a much cuter design. Plus, Best Buy had it on sale.
