iPad Keyboard works fine for me

I bought this keyboard because I wanted to avoid a vinyl or leather case plus keyboard. I like how it fits over the iPad and maintains the thin metal look and feel. I put the whole thing in a leather envelope when traveling. Otherwise, I carry it in my purse as is. If you are hard on your electronics, or you frequently have a case of the dropsies, I wouldn't recommend this keyboard unless you used it with a full case for the iPad.

I have a lot of Ipads and other versions of this keyboard case. When I opened it and saw that there was no charge port I was a little confused. Eventually I learned that the batteries (Lithium ion) will last 2 years and are easily replaceable (it would have been nice to have directions included to do that). Eventually I found the battery compartment and I agree that it will be easy to change the batteries. Another confusing issue popped up when I was trying to physically connect the case to my ipad. How the heck does this thing work? After playing with it awhile I found it pretty easy to lay my ipad down at about a 45 degree angle against the keyboard and slide the hinge end of the ipad along the keyboard. This will result in the magnet cover opening and binding with the ipad. The result is an adequately strong connection. I wouldn't carry it around by just holding it by the keyboard case side though. Why would anyone do that anyway? Finally, I did like the adjustable viewing angle feature and my ipad seems to fit into the slot better than the other past logitech cases I have.

allows 2 view angles. securely holds ipad in place. solid bluetooth connection, does not drop. typing feels great on this keyboard. does offer screen protection, but not much else. no back protection or drop protection at all. hinge bites into hand when carry ipad with cover closed. edge is too sharp.

At a recent conference, I found RF interference in the presentation room seemed to be the culprit in causing the Bluetooth connection between my iPad and the keyboard to cut in and out. The built-in screen keyboard would suddenly & distractingly appear. Otherwise the keyboard is very light and responsive, and it has sufficient key travel. Potential buyers should note that the keyboard must be removed from the magnetic attachment along the edge of the iPad and inserted in a dedicated and adjustable slot in order to be used. It works fine with Pages, Word for iPad, and Daedalus. I had no trouble finding replacement batteries at a Rite Aid pharmacy in NC.

If you are looking for a keyboard that is great to use, thin, light, and doesn't require another cable then you've found it. Aside from some tricky parring issues with the keyboard I can say I enjoy using this device.

I had the keyboard for the iPad v2 prior to this and was looking forward to this upgrade to go along with my iPad Air v2. It's both better and worse than my old one. It's better because it's thinner and lighter, but it's worse because while I like the tilt feature very much it seems a bit flimsy and sometimes my taps on the screen only translate into motion of the iPad and not whatever I'm trying to accomplish. What's stayed the same is the feel of the keyboard continues to be excellent. To move it to five stars I'd like the tilt to be a bit more solid and when the keyboard and iPad are closed to be a bit more securely fastened together.

Solves problems of original iPad Air version

I have an iPad Air and have the equivalent of this keyboard cover for that device. While it works well, there are a few quibbles regarding the strength of magnetic attachment in the open position as well as the tendency for the weight of the air to lever up the top of the keyboard section. All of those problems are taken care of in the iPad Air 2 version. Further, the magnets that hold the case on have a nice "auto-lock" mechanism where the case will hold the magnetic strip flat if the iPad has been removed, and will automatically lift and attach if you slide the iPad's magnetized spine into the back of the cover at a reasonably shallow angle. In addition, some combined keys have been separated (function keys and numbers, so things like screen brightness and media control now have their own keys), and the screen now has two viewing angles. Overall this is a solid upgrade over the minor stumbles the original iPad Air version had, and a good step to restore the case functionality to the standards I expect from Logitech.

I had this keyboard for my old iPad2. I wanted to compare it to a Zagg, but those don't seem to be readily available for the Air 2 yet and I was tired of waiting. So this keyboard was really the only game in town (at least at Best Buy.) I love the keyboard. It's easy to use, keys are plenty big and have a nice touch. Wish it had a back light (Zagg does.) I can't understand why anyone would think the way this attaches to the device is good. The old Logitech design was much better. When attached, there's a sharp corner sticking up. It used to have a flippy thing hanging off when attached, and then it was smooth when connected. I really think when you are throwing the thing in a bag, the CONNECTED aspect is much more important. It also doesn't have as strong a magnet attachment. It doesn't hold as tight to the keyboard as the older model did. I'd recommend looking at this one and trying it out. The Zagg weighs more and is a bit bigger, I think, but I'd recommend comparing it, if you can get your hands on one. This just wasn't something I was willing to order online.

I trust the Logitech brand so I felt confident in my purchase. I like that this keyboard is battery operated so I don't have to hassle with any charging cords. The set up was simple and seamless and I was able to start typing from the keyboard within seconds of Bluetooth pairing. I like the compact fit and the dual use of keyboard and case in one. I would highly recommend this keyboard to any iPad Air 2 user.

I used to own a Logitech Keyboard Cover for my old iPad 3 and I loved the sturdyness of that Cover and the way that the iPad 3 fit securly in place as well as when it was on the stand. I'm disappointed that Logitech decided to try and make this cover so thin that it doesn't really hold the iPad Air 2 very securly, or at least it doesn't seem that way when you're holding it. I've started putting the iPad and cover together and then I put it in a Neoprene case that I can hold to make sure everthing is secure. Also, when the iPad Air 2 is placed in the stand, it looks like it's going to fall out because it's so shallow. I realize that it's magnetically held into the stand as well as the cover when shut, but I hate to take risks with my iPad Air 2 when I have so much invested in it.

The keyboard for my old iPad had to be charged periodically. I love that this one has a replaceable battery. It says it will last 2 years, by which time I'll likely upgrade the iPad. It also works to turn off the iPad when the cover is closed, and you can stand the iPad in it either vertically or horizontally. If the battery really lasts 2 years I'll be thrilled!

I have been using the Logitech keyboards for my iPads. I recently upgraded to the iPad Air 2 and unfortunately it did not fit well with the last keyboard. So I immediately went for this model. Key strokes are registered, bluetooth stays connected, and all is basically smooth. Charge-life is long and consistent so far. What I do not like so much is the security of how the iPad fastens when in portrait mode. I need to have a hand available or it feels as if it will fall. When it is in landscape mode the magnet on the long edge of the iPad is activated so its very secure.

I love the Logitech Ultrathin for iPad 2. It acts like cover when not in use and is light and thin. It snaps off very simply and the keyboard has a nice tactile feel. My only complaint is I wish Best Buy would carry the silver with white keyboard color versus only the space grey with black. I was not a "keyboard believer" for iPads but after using this one, I wouldn't be able to power through emails and heavy typing without it.

I suggest buying this just as a keyboard; It has a sharp edge when used as a cover that is uncomfortable to carry. Keyboard is just held to I pad magnetically. I wound us placing it in zippered lap top bag to carry it.

I upgrade my iPads annually and this is the second Logitech Ultrathin I purchased. I tried all of the other brands and models and none were as versatile as this one. Only wish list item, would be a backlit keyboard. I tried Zagg, etc. For thinness and ease of use I highly recommend this one. It should not be used in place of a good case, but if you transport your iPad with the keyboard in a briefcase, like I do, then you will be fine. When I don't need a keyboard, I snap the iPad back into it's Apple branded SmartCase.
