Customers are impressed with the Z200 2.0 Multimedia Speakers' sound quality, ease of use, and value for the price. Many also appreciate the speakers' decent volume and size. While some found the power output to be slightly limited, the positive feedback on sound quality and affordability outweighs this concern. The attractive design and inclusion of a headphone jack are additional pluses noted by customers.

I suppose you get what you pay for. The sound from these speakers is pretty weak, with a narrow frequency range. Highs are very muffled and bass is non-existant. I took mine apart and was surprised to discover that only the top drivers are powered and active - the bottom ones are just for show. They are not hooked up to anything (don't even have magnets driving them). No idea why Logitech did this. Returning this purchase.

Great Sound And Actually Some Bass

The only thing bad about this speaker system is that at kinda high volumes, it begins to distort. Bought this for my friend because his monitor doesn't have speakers in it.

"Ok" Speakers

For the price, you get what you pay for with the Z200s. I bought these based on very good reviews from BB and elsewhere. They look great, they are quite big (tall), seem to be well built. Sound wise though, they are quite hollow to my ears. The small "tone" dial is basically useless. Am I crazy about them like other reviews? No. Would I recommend? Sure, but with reservations...if you just need a pair of speakers to get you by and don't mind the sound, then ok. But, if you're looking for crisp highs, decent lows, clear sound...I'm not sure I'd recommend. But again...these are very cheaply priced.

The speakers produce sound

I had much higher hopes given the Logitech name, but was disappointed with "you get what you pay for" sound. Probably not fair of me to ding the speakers for being at the very low end.
The range is very limited and it sounds kind of "dull." Spun the tone dial to try to improve things to no avail.
I'm not going to take them back because I didn't need high end sound. They're perfectly adequate. But if I had it to do all over again, I would have spent another $25 to go a step up.

the speakers are alright and the sound quality is alright as well. it's what you would expect from something of it's price value. only con for me would be that the sound doesn't come through always. when watching a movie or a show on my laptop/desktop if there was no dialog no sound would come through. once the characters started speaking again the beginning of the sentence would be chopped off. not even soft background music seems to make it through in scenes that i know have music.

Let me give a little bit of a background here. (Skip this paragraph if you want to read the review part) I've been using Cyber Acoustics CA-3090 speakers for over 5 years now. The plastic speaker bubbles are dented, the knob has to be on full volume or the sound only plays on 1 of the 2 speakers, and one of them doesn't even have a stand anymore; It lays on its side since it broke off. I've long been overdue for a replacement set, and at $25, I decided I'd finally get some use out of my Best Buy gift cards.
When I bought my previous speakers in 2011, they went for about $30, so I figured I would get about the same quality with these that I already had, an assumption which I later regretted. One of the reasons I decided on these was because they didn't have a bulky sub-woofer attachment, but these speakers are enormous. There's barely room on my desk for these things. In addition, the sound quality is terrible. I'm not an audio snob, and I've never used high-end audio systems. Even so, I could tell how bad the audio on these is. Everything coming out of them sounds muffled, like I'd taken a towel and thrown it over the speakers. I tried to use them for a couple weeks, but after a session of using them where the terrible quality of the speakers stood out (they really can't do bass very well) I disconnected them and re-connected my half-broken, 5-year-old speakers. In short, unless you're going to be using these for a party full of loud, drunk people who wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway, I'd pass on these. There are other cheap speakers with much better quality, and these are terrible even for the price. The only reason they don't get 1 star is because they worked without any technical issues.

I honestly love these speakers, when I built my pc completely forgot about speakers so I got these for a temporary stand in, with a little tweaking they sound pretty decent for everyday use so it stayed with me through a couple of pc's since. The review is for the all the time its served me

Picked the Z200 because it was on sale. I thought it would be better quality than the cheaper model. It may not be. It has good mid-range sound, but lows are somewhat weak. The speakers seem more exposed to damage without a screen, just has paper covering. I will probably return them.

I have a pair of the old Logitech tallboys and the only thing really missing here is the cover/meshgrille. These speakers are basically the same just extremely on the 'cheap'. but for the price what can I expect? It''s sad that this Tech no longer features the Logic that made it so super-special.
Don't get a splash or anything near them. I'm afraid for the cones. I've put these away until they are absolutely needed. What a waste of money.

Speakers started to mess with my hearing.

First time hearing these I thought there needed to be a driver installed or something. It sounds like a special effect is turned on and there is no way to turn it off. The music is super loud but you can't hear talking. The sound coming from a tunnel is the best way I can describe it.
Since I don't live near the best buy, I just kept them. Two weeks in now and its starting to mess with my hearing. I'm more use to the sound coming from the speakers but now everything else sounds different and its like my ears constantly need to pop.
It would cost me about as much gas to return these so I won't be doing that, just gonna find a different set of speakers.

Larger than expected, but much weaker sound than you'd expect from the size and the fact that they are powered speakers (110v plug to wall/power strip). Much older speakers that these replaced had as good sound and more volume. Adjustment of the 'tone' dial for base results in minimal change. Very disappointed,
