Bought the LG water filter. I went home and took a picture of the one I had installed. It's a little expensive and next time I'm going to see if there's a deal on buying 2 at a time. It's best to do it at least 1 time a year or it really depends how often you use the water and ice maker. We are happy with it though.

Easy to install. Just wish I didn't have to dump out 2 gallons of water to clean the filter! CA has a long term drought. Best to buy on a regular subscription service for ease & price after checking yourself for correct size. Best Buy had sold us the wrong size for our LG & wouldn't accept return as it was over 30 days out. Their mistake so shouldn't be a problem to exchange for correct size anytime.

Functionally, it's great. I ignore the 6 month life on the label, I go for 2 years and it's fine. I only came here to comment because of the packaging. I had to get out the metal cutters from the garage to open the blister pack. It is likely due to retail theft - but for an online order I don't expect to have to cut myself on theft deterrent packaging. I might consider a knock off on the packaging alone. Not everyone has puncture resistant gloves and metal cutters to be able to open a consumable item they received by mail.

Filter fit great and went into our fridge easily. We had changed it before but couldn't remember which one to get. The floor person was very helpful and found the filter right away. We knew Best Buy would not steer us the wrong way. The store personnel treated us great from finding the product and checking us out.

I used to purchase a different filter brand for my LG refrigerator, but the OEM filter is of much better quality. Although it is more expensive, it is worth the cost since the water taste much better.
