Luigi's Mansion was one of my favorite games on GameCube. Finally, after more than a decade, we get a sequel. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon takes the basic concepts of its predecessor and brings them to life in a stunning 3D world. Really. I think this is the most impressed I've been with the utilization of 3D on my 3DS to date. The graphics are gorgeous and not a single detail was overlooked.

The 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion is fun and quirky, so in that sense, it does the Gamecube game justice. The puzzles are interesting and the controls are well thought out. The thing I did not appreciate was being constantly interrupted and dragged out of the mansion to chat with E-Gad. The Gamecube game gave you a lot more freedom to explore and do things on your own time. Despite that, if you liked the first game, you should give this one a try. It's similar enough that nostalgia alone will make it enjoyable.

30 years later... Luigi gets a remake of a fantastic game that was released much earlier. This is a fantastic game for the price. It has tons of story and even though it is considered a "sequel" you really don't have to play the first game to understand it. It is very entertaining and great gameplay. It was a little lengthy but overall a hard, but rewarding game. I would give it 4.5/5.

This game is fun and easy to control I just wish you can save it at any time but unfortunately you can't it saves automatically after every mission is complete. The 3d with the new 3ds is amazing worth buying

This game is super cute and friendly. Best part of the game is hunting the ghost dog and trying to find Boo.

Nintendo has always made great games and this is no exception. The controls are tight and easy to work and the graphics are also fantastic, especially in 3D. I would actually give it a 4.25, and wish that it had mid-level save points, but I definitely recommend it.

Luigi's Mansion is an adventure game that is something of the equivalent of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland colliding with Saturday morning cartoons. It's fun, and is a great choice for gamers looking for an adventure game experience on the 3DS.
The game's strengths are in its presentation and humor. Luigi animates like a cartoon, and the writing is frequently humorous (especially for younger players). The locations Luigi is ghost hunting are also fun to explore with decently challenging puzzles.
Frustrating the experience significantly however is a lack of save points, found only after beating a level. Since some of the sections take a long time, and since this is played on a handheld system where play may happen often in short bursts, the infrequency of save points is annoying at best, and maddening at worst. You may get through an entire level, only to die at the end of it and have to start all over. It is the definition of tedium. In addition, I was sometimes smacked around by the ghosts of the manor due to the occasional difficulty of controlling Luigi...lame.
Still, the overall charm, clever puzzles, and fun presentation more than make up for these frustrating points. Though the game is set in a mansion and you are battling ghosts, the scares aren't really anywhere to be found, so no worries for the younger players. It's more about fun, and in this respect - Luigi delivers.

I enjoyed the first Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube, and this game gave me more of what I loved. The only thing I can complain about is not having two sticks to control the vacuum with; I wish they gave it New 3DS support!!

This is definitely a great sequel to the original game. Very fun, and even challenging at times when fighting bosses. My only complaint is the lack of manual save points, as when you die if you don't find a gold bone to be resurrected you have to start the level all over again - losing all the progress you made.
Otherwise highly recommended. Great graphics and sound, the controls take a little to get used to but fun story. A game you just want to keep playing.

They've changed the set-up of the game a little bit, this game is a bit more "hand-holdy". At the beginning of each mission, you're told what you need to go and do and you're restricted to access of only the areas that are pertinent to that specific mission. You can understand why they made it that way easily enough; the first game just let you wander the mansion endlessly with very little guidance, so this could have been a response to many frustrated gamer's reviews.
This game really shows what a 3DS is capable of. The graphics are amazing, the 3D is implemented very well, the sound is top notch and the music will be stuck in your head for days. Most of the music is sort of a variation of a theme, but some familiar tunes pop in, of course.
People don't seem to understand that the 3DS is a completely new system from the DS lines of hardware, and with that comes much more power.
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon adds several new stages, so you're not just exploring one large building, but several. The opponents are varied and some of the puzzle solutions are very clever.
Downsides would probably be:
Lack of post -game stuff to do, too few upgrades overall, and lack of completion rewards. There are optional objectives but no real prize for completing them all. :(
Very good game!

Luigi’s Mansion 2 might be a sequel, but it’s one that shows Nintendo at its inventive best. It’s an essential game in the 3DS’ increasingly impressive line-up, and though I sometimes wished that it would leave me alone to explore more at my own pace, it’s otherwise difficult to fault a game this detailed, absorbing and masterfully made.

I've never played the very first Luigi's Mansion, but I can say that this game was very good! I liked the way that you can see the game very well in 3D and how you can view the entire game level and how you move in the game. The controls respond very well and you can travel amazingly in the levels. So far, it's great!!

Short and sweet.
This game is an adventure and puzzle solving title starring a reluctant Luigi as the hero. There's a lot to collect in the game, and it's very unique. There aren't a lot of other games that feel like Luigi's Mansion. It's a definite buy if you want to explore a new world.

This is one of the best games on the 3DS. It's gameplay is unlike any other and it is an absolute blast to play. Luigi is constantly scared but he knows what he must do and does it despite his fear. The original Luigi's Mansion on the gamecube was fun but this one is even better.

I will put this as a 4 star. Reason....Son likes the game, but he go this and the newest Zelda at the same time, and Zelda pulls him in more. They are different games, and he does like this game, but he says it is good, but he would not put it in the great category. More of a 3.5, but going up to a 4 on it as I think he would like it better if he didn't have the other game to distract him.

After having played Luigi's Mansion back in 2001 on GameCube I hoped for a sequel. Dark Moon is a great sequel and is fun to play on the go. It's a bit jarring at first since it's mission based unlike the first game but it lends itself well to portable gaming
