Bought 2 . Both lasted less than 2 weeks. The thing overheated and burned out

No hesitation, this Lutron connected dimmer is the best. Easy set up with my Wink link and it has a remote. Who doesn't like remote controls! My girlfriend, that's who, she thinks I'm a little nuts. But that's another conversation. You will find this product all it's advertised to be.

A large custom full-wall furniture piece covered my existing wall switch. I considered wiring in a new switch to a location that wouldn't be covered by the furniture, though I didn't look forward to the drywall patching & painting that would go along with it. Then I stumbled on this product! I installed it in place of the existing switch, and covered it with the furniture. Yes, this sounds counter-intuitive, but just stay with me... Then I installed the wireless remote (with a wallplate bracket made specifically for it, available here on amazon) next to the entry door of the room because I wanted a permanent switch there. I even bought an extra remote because I liked the utility of having a remote on the night-stand next to the bed. So in the end, without having to mess with spackle, paint, or new wire runs, I got to relocate (well technically "additional locate" since the original location still remains) my switch, add a remote for bedtime use, and the whole process took less than 20 minutes.

Part of the appeal of the Lutron Caseta dimmer is that unlike nearly all other smart switches, it does not require a neutral wire to be present. The install is very easy, and the instructions were very clear. The remote setup is also painless, and works quite well. However, when in the OFF setting, the switch still allows a small amount of electricity through to the lights. It's not apparent in daytime, but at night my bulbs still have a very faint glow (and this is constant, not just residual glow). I noticed this in both CFL and LED bulbs. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it makes me hesitant to give a full recommendation. Also, Lutron's Caseta product line uses a non-standard, proprietary RF frequency. This means that in order to link its functionality to other smart home products and services (like Amazon's Alexa or IFTTT), you have to purchase either Lutron's wireless bridge or a Wink hub (which supports Lutron's RF).

I was tired of turning on and off the front porch light and garage lights every evening and morning. Installed the lutron caseta switches and made my life so much easier. Installation was a breeze. Switch works like a charm. Setting it up on the lutron app and later on Alexa offers the convenience of routine schedules and easy voice operation. I liked the result so much that I promptly added another switch for the deck lights. Solid product by an established leader in home automation,

This light switch is perfect. It allows you to control your lights through an app from anywhere. It also works perfectly with the Amazon Echo. It was easy to install, set up and start using.

I have a few of these in my home. It's a great way to begin your smart home project. Works perfectly with Alexa and Siri. Great product.
