So, right out of the box, this does not work! I keep trying to load the computer file with my information and it keeps saying that it can’t use my name and password together. Tried to reset using my Apple ID and it keeps giving me the shaking icon where it’s not working which I’m using on my phone and my watch just fine. So tomorrow I’m gonna have to go to the store and say fix it or give me a new one! This was an open box excellent condition. IMO it should have been tested to make sure the customer will be happy!!!

    Simply Blown Away

So, let me start this by saying that I was super skeptical when I first heard about the new M1 chips being released by Apple. I figured like years past, this would be a minuscule upgrade, with nothing significantly different. But, after seeing some reviews on this where people were stating they were blown away with the amount of performance they were seeing, I had to give it a look. I am glad I did. I will preface this by stating that my journey to finding the "perfect" laptop has been a long one. I came from a 2015 MB Pro that I had for approx. 2 years before it died, upgraded to a 2017 MB Pro with Touch Bar which had been my daily driver for about 3 years. I have always been underwhelmed with the 2017 MB Pro's performance as it always froze up opening the most basic task, and you could forget about photo or video editing. Not exactly living up to the "Pro" in the name. So, when looking for a new laptop I decided to give Windows a try. After returning a HP Spectre X360 for quality control issues, I settled on a Lenovo Yoga C940, but still found flaws: overheating, thermal throttling, crashing apps and terrible, terrible battery life. I ended up switching back to the MB Pro despite that its age is showing. I am stuck with a Lenovo that I cannot return. Buyer's remorse, indeed. Cut to a few days ago, I on a whim decided to give this MBA a try. I thought I would be "downgrading" by not getting a Pro, but I am a college student on a budget, and I had hopes that this computer would fit my needs and I wouldn't have to shell out the extra money for more performance. I am glad I opted for the MBA. I can see why the MBA is popular among college students: it's lightweight, fantastic battery life, and the "wedge" shape adds to a better, more ergonomic typing experience, which is important to me as I type essays and assignments very regularly. So, to get down to the nitty-gritty. Can it perhaps be my everyday, everything, every use-case computer? I can safely say yes. The performance on this blows my $1600 Lenovo with 16GB of Ram and Intel 10th gen i7 out of the water. I can have multiple Safari tabs going, iTunes in the background, Adobe Photoshop or Premeire Pro running at the same time and it doesn't even break a sweat. To say that I was blown away is an understatement. This little 8GB ram, 3.2 Ghz M1 MBA is making most higher-end workhorse computers look weak. Another thing I love? It's fanless! One of my biggest pet-peeves are laptops with terrible fan noise and poor heat management. On this, it is not an issue. No fan? No problem! Stays nice and cool, and no fan noise. IDK how Apple managed it. Also, the improved keyboard is a nice change from the butterfly keyboard issues my 2017 MB Pro was plagued with. I can actually type on this one and not feel like my fingers are hitting bottom. The speakers, for such a thin and light laptop, are fairly decent as well. Decent stereo separation and punchy. Could do with more bass. But again, small computer, small speaker drivers. To be expected. The screen is also good, covers my needs for photo and video editing with a good amount of color accuracy. No complaints. I cannot attest to the webcam as I don't use it, but I am sure it will do in a pinch. To sum up: great computer, great value. Unless you are editing videos 24/7, I would recommend this one over the new MB Pro. Save some $. This thing can handle anything you have to throw at it. I have a very demanding work-flow as a graphics design student and I am simply blown away. Would definitely not hesitate to recommend to anyone in the market for a new daily driver.

Great computer for the price. This computer replaced a newer, high end MacBook Pro 16” model. Truth be told, I think the M1 processor is just as fast as that much more expensive model and it’s certainly lighter and easier to use as an everyday laptop, even if the screen is smaller. Unless you are a true power user, which the average computer user is not, you don’t need the expense, weight, and faster processors of a MacBook Pro model from my experience owning more than I care to admit number of MacBook Pro’s over the years. This is currently the best all around laptop value Apple makes.. it’s light, fast, now has larger storage options, and has a great screen and sound for its size.

    Quality Apple Product and Laptop

This is my first MacBook purchase, but not my first Apple product. When looking for a new laptop I was planning to stick with Windows, however, I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and other miscellaneous Apple products, so why not switch to Apple. I have quite enjoyed this laptop. The screen is crisp and with minimal bezel. The touchpad is responsive, and I have gotten use to to having to fully click it in order to press on something. The keyboard's keys have enough travel that it does not make it uncomfortable nor cramp my fingers and can feel super satisfying. It is also nice to have a backlit keyboard, although for the price, the laptop should have a nice backlit keyboard. The computer can handle having multiple tabs open well without draining the battery or becoming overheated. Also, it handles light gaming; although with The Sims 4, with multiple expansions, the computer got hot soon and caused some worry (although there was minimal lag and problems). Battery life is also nice; I use the laptop mostly for video streaming, research, writing and light gaming, and I feel like I have to charge it maybe three times a week. Quite awesome. The laptop is also quite simple to use after you throw out everything you know about Windows computers. There are only a couple things in which bothered me. First is how to turn the backlit keyboard on, and adjust the brightness. I'm someone who likes to explore computer systems, but for some reason it took me a while to figure out where to find it. Maybe I am being picky, but I would have liked physical keys located on the keyboard rather than have to go through multiple steps on the screen. The second was the price point. Do not get me wrong, I know you pay for quality and this laptop feels like and performs like quality. However, for some higher end Windows computers at the same price point, you can get so much MORE: more ram, more memory, better processing speeds, better speakers... etc. Again, you are paying for a solid machine, with a strong name behind it, with quite a large ecosystem (closed but large, nonetheless), but I guess quality, battery life and longevity can over come the price point. Overall, I have enjoyed using this laptop and would get another Apple laptop in the future when necessary. Do I recommend? Yes, to someone who wants a quality laptop with a fabulous battery life to use for streaming, web surfing and word documents. The laptop is not for someone who wants to use it for gaming. (I do not do photo or video editing, so I can not speak that use.) Plus the laptop is beautiful, especially in Gold.

I needed a new laptop and decided to wait to invest in an M1 MacBook and this 13" Air provided everything that I needed. This not my first Apple computer or product but it is my first Apple laptop. Performance is great and the design is everything Apple is known for. I'm not a gamer nor a 'heavy-process-user' (yet!) so I can't speak to the capability of this device in that regard but I'm sure that it could handle much more than I will ask of it. Other reviewers have been impressed with its performance (regarding gaming and video-editing). Lightweight (compared to my former laptops), small foot-print, aesthetically pleasing, great speakers for a laptop this size, impressive specs, and outstanding performance. I'm being VERY 'picky' when I say that my ONLY negative observation that I have to offer is that the display is not quite as bright (as more expensive versions) in very bright surroundings, but it is MORE than adequate under normal conditions - especially considering what you're getting for the modest price of this Apple device. (My comment regarding the screen brightness may be being influenced by the 5k Retina display on my 2017 27" iMac display, which is just brilliant!) I love this laptop!! I have enjoyed it so much that I bought my daughter one, as well!

Editing Excellence with Apple's M1 Chip

When it comes to editing low-production-quality videos, the laptop I found to be the most impressive companion is the one powered by Apple's M1 chip. In my experience, using Final Cut Pro on this machine has been an absolute delight. It has not only met but exceeded my expectations, allowing me to craft amazing videos for both clients and my personal creative endeavors. The standout feature of this laptop is undeniably the M1 chip. Its performance is nothing short of remarkable. It handles video editing tasks with such grace and efficiency that it genuinely feels like the laptop is punching above its weight class. For editing in 1080p, it's a dream come true. Transitions are seamless, rendering is blazing fast, and the overall editing process is incredibly smooth. You'll find yourself working through your projects effortlessly. However, where I did experience a bit of a hiccup was when attempting to edit 4K footage. The laptop did struggle a bit, especially with more complex projects. While it's still possible to edit 4K videos, it's not as buttery-smooth as working with 1080p content. It's essential to keep this in mind if 4K editing is a significant part of your workflow. But for those primarily working with 1080p videos, you'll find this laptop to be more than capable of handling the task. I wholeheartedly recommend this laptop for video editing enthusiasts. Its M1 chip delivers exceptional performance, particularly for 1080p editing tasks, and it has become an invaluable tool for my video production needs. Just be mindful of its limitations when dealing with 4K footage. If you can work within those parameters, you'll undoubtedly be satisfied with the punching power this laptop brings to your editing projects.

MacBook Air performs like a pro-level laptop. It never groans under multiple apps. (I’ve run well over a dozen at a time.) It handles intensive apps like Photoshop and even video editing apps like Adobe Premiere without complaint. It has never made me think twice about loading up another browser tab or 10 — even in Chrome.

Really outstanding performance for the price. I recent "downgraded" to the new M1 Air from a 2016 MacBook Pro and honestly, this thing blows that old Intel model out of the water. The keyboard is a great typing experience, it's much lighter than I was expecting, and it never runs hot on me. Amazing screen resolution, crazy fast, and I only have to charge it once every couple of days with moderate/heavy usage.

Defining the Next Generation of Macs

By leveraging its own silicon, Apple has created an incredibly powerful ultra-portable laptop. I replaced my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro with this M1 MacBook Air and the performance of M1 MacBook Air obliterates that of the Intel MacBook. This MacBook Air is amazingly fast and responsive - I am even able to play games on reasonable settings that typically require a dedicated GPU - and with no fan needed for cooling! In addition to its power, the battery life is absolutely unreal. I was skeptical of Apple's decision to ditch Intel but, at least right now, it looks like they've made the right decision and it will be very interesting to see the progression of Macs with Apple silicon over the next several years. This amount of power at this price point is simply unheard of. Outside of these under the hood changes, you will find all of the things you already love about the MacBook Air - the lightweight iconic wedged design, the brilliant Retina display, and the sophisticated Mac OS operating system (further refined in its latest iteration dubbed Big Sur).

Love this MacBook Air!. One of the best features is the fingerprint (password) to get into the system. Fast! Long battery life. Love the rose color. Lightweight and portable. The downside...the usb is "C" so my USB printer won't connect to it. None of my other USB items will either.

I love this laptop! It is fast, sleek, and powerful. The Apple M1 chip is amazing, it handles everything I throw at it with ease. The battery life is also impressive, I can use it for hours without worrying about plugging in. The 512GB SSD is spacious enough for all my files and apps, and the 8GB memory is sufficient for multitasking. The space gray color is elegant and stylish, and the 13.3-inch screen is bright and crisp. The keyboard and trackpad are smooth and responsive, and the Touch ID sensor is convenient and secure. This laptop is perfect for work, school, or entertainment. It is worth every penny!

I've been using this MacBook Air for over 2 years now and it is still in perfect condition! I love love love my MacBook Air. It does not heat up like my old MacBook Pro did and the keys are very ASMR-y to type with. The one thing I don't like about the Air compared to Pro is that the keys do NOT light up. I guess I did not read the description when I bought it lol but that's honestly the only downside besides that there isn't a USB port or disk insert. Just charger ports and a headphone jack! I still would recommend this product tenfold just because I use it every day and it still works like as if it was brand new.

Great laptop at a great price, Powerful. Lightweight, super compact. It is wedge shaped and gets thinner from back to front and top to bottom. I'm using it to make music, recording several tracks of guitar, bass, drums, synthesizers, etc., and the machine is a beast, super fast and the battery life is incredible, I would recommend this device to anyone needing either a work from a home computer, college students definitely, and of course professional workers who need something powerful and light.

I was starting a new work from home job. I needed to get my own laptop as I was borrowing a friend's pc laptop. It was fairly recent and hardly used. After checking that I would be able to use a MacBook for my job, I looked. But was having doubts over the price because I would mainly just use this for work. I've been a loyal Apple user since 2006 when I got my first iPod, then purchased a MacBook. My previous MacBook Pro lasted ten years after I purchased it in 2008. So I was back and forth. However, after using a PC for a couple of weeks I immediately knew why I stick with Macs. Windows always freezes up and the trackpad was already not working. I had to restart it several times in order to get it to work. Programs I needed froze or just shut down. Plus waiting for it to boot up. I decided to go ahead and get my own MacBook Air when I could. I figured the money that I would be spending would get something that is going to last for years. Especially since it is not program intensive for my job. I won't have to get a new laptop every year or so and worry about viruses and subscriptions to virus software. Love that it is compact and light. Great keyboard with light up keys. Works seamlessly with my iPhone, iPad and iCloud account. Everything automatically transferred over and had it set up in about 20 minutes with all my stuff. Transferred all my music from my iPhone with 3rd party software and everything was set. Transferred photos on my Google Drive. Set up everything for my job in ten minutes. Speed is awesome. Have several things running at once and no issues. Boots up so fast as well. Have videos playing and other programs and no lag or anything. Easy to take for traveling as well. If you are on the fence, get a Mac. It is is well worth it and going to last awhile. Everything works so well and seamlessly. Especially if you already have an iPhone or an iPad. It all connects.

This is an absolutely fantastic laptop - blazingly fast, crazy light, and totally silent, with battery life that usually means it can service a couple of days without charging based on my typical usage. The extra storage cost a fortune, but was necessary for my photo library - which is maddening, but I can't think of anything else I'd want... maybe a few more ports onboard. Whatever, this thing is as good as it gets for my computing needs.

I’ve always own PCs but this is my first MacBook and very impressed. The laptop feels very sturdy and extremely light where you can carry it with you all day. Loading is extremely fast, speakers are loud enough for as thin as it is, screen is bright and colorful. The keyboard feels comfortable to use for hours. I recommend for any college student or anyone that needs to have a laptop for work. I don’t do video editing etc. The battery easily last a week and I would buy it again over a P.C. plus the size of it was perfect for what I needed.
