    Best MacBook Air ever

This is a great laptop. I had a 2020 intel MacBook Pro that used to get hot at the slightest excuse. In contrast, this M1 MBA is a champ. The battery life is great and it handles everything I can throw at it. When I bought it, I was a it apprehensive about only having 8GB RAM, but within days, I wasn't even thinking about it. I have a lot of browser tabs open at any given time and it just chugs along. I use MS Office 365 a lot and I think it did something the first time it ran for the M1 chip, but since then I can't really tell a difference. In fact, none of my other apps have had any issues with the M1 chip. I hope it keeps working like this for another 4-5 years.

Got this for my son to use at University and he absolutely loves it. Small, lightweight and has tons of memory. I was also very pleased with the cost, I thought they would be more.

This is definitively the best MacBook Air yet. The best has become even better with the M1 chip. This small footprint computer blazes at a lightning-fast speed is incredibly capable and doesn't get hot at all. Ports leave something to be desired, but you knew that already. The point is, this runs laps around PC's laptops that are double the price. If you plan on keeping a computer for the next 5yrs without much worry, this is your best option. Incredible battery life and display, the list goes on.

This laptop is sturdy, has been reliable for years, and it's still going. Wish it had some USB ports but there are work-arounds. I feel like the battery life could be better but I also keep an exorbitant amount of tabs opened at a time so...there's that lol. Would recommend for casual lifestyle purposes as that's been my experience with it.

My family has had many MacBooks over this year and this replaces a 2015 MacBook Pro which my son uses now. This MacBook Air ticks all the boxes for me in terms of form factor, weight and performance. Best Buy was offering a great deal on the 8 core, 8GB/512GB model and for my use case this was a much better value than opting for the new MacBook Air - I also like the old wedge shape. I do miss the variety of ports available on my old MacBook Pro, but that ship has sailed and there are relatively inexpensive options to rectify that.

Great MacBook, I’ve had this few two years and still hasn’t slowed down. Definitely worth the price even tho it’s a M1 chip. This should last me for years to come.

I've never owned a Mac before this one. But this one looked so appealing I finally made the switch. I am a student and its fantastic because its battery easily lasts through the day, its very light, very powerful, the screen looks great, and the keyboard is great. The design is a little dated and I'm not a fan of only two USB-C ports. But overall I love this thing, I have had 3-4 laptops in the past 15 years and I've never really liked any of them. I love this laptop and I find myself using it way more often then I have ever used other laptops for.

I used to only use Windows, until I decided to try this MacBook. Now, I'm sold completely. Granted it's my first, and I haven't tried Intel models. This particular M1 powered MBA, blows any similarly priced (or even more expensive!) PCs out of the water by smooth performance and amazing battery life. Before settling on this one, I tried several newest Windows laptops, including 16GB Surface Laptop Studio (!!). It's not even close to what MBA can do, with a much lighter and slicker design.

This M1 processor computer from Apple is the best version of the MacBook series ever. It is fast, runs completely cool and has phenomenal battery life. I use it all day on battery and charge it overnight. Only downside is it will not run 32 bit programs, like my old 2008 version of MS Office. Another drawback is it only has the two USB-4 ports. But it makes up for it by being light and portable. The keyboard is improved from my previous 2017 MacBook Pro. Plus, at around $1000, the new MacBook Air is a great value.

I don't think I can give an honest review about any Apple product because I'm not a big fan. I just bought this because I'm a Software Engineer and I just need it for one of the projects I'm working on. But I can say, compared to what I had before, this one is slick! It's slim, it's light and it's fast. I like the Touch Id feature. If I'm an Apple fan I would say I absolutely love it, but I'm not an Apple fan, so I'd say I'm less miserable than I used to be when I had to use a Mac.

This is the best laptop I have ever owned. It is so compact and lightweight and it sips battery power. You will not have to plug it in until the end of the day with normal usage. There’s no fan inside so it’s literally silent. It does get warm but it will not overheat. Also Apple doesn’t give you more RAM or GPU power than you need, however this laptop is not suited for power users. But for those who only do basic computer functions like email/Facebook/YouTube videos like me, it is perfect.

First, let me say this is an excellent computer, and I love it. My primary motivation for purchasing was to increase the speed of video editing and movie project rendering/production. I upgraded from a late 2017 MacBook Air with a 2.2 GHz dual-core i7 Intel processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD. It was great, except for the extended time it took for movie processing in iMovie. My other reasons to upgrade were that I found 128GB too small for my needs, and Office 365 applications took forever to open. All my expectations have been fulfilled. Speedy! Additional benefits are the Retina display, the Force touch trackpad, the Fingerprint reader, and improved speakers/sound output. I am sorry that I lost the SD card slot and the USB 3 ports of my previous Mac. I had to purchase a USB-C dock to attach an external USB drive and to read SD cards from my camera. One other picky nuisance for me is that the headphone jack on the 2017 machine was on the left side. On the 2020 machine it is positioned on the right side, which causes a problem for me because the earbud/headphone connection and cord get in the way of my mouse movements to some degree. What can I say? But, really, this new laptop is great. I am very happy with it.
