I grew up watching this movie on VHS and cable TV. It is a gorgeous movie and I can finally understand what all the characters are saying! It is hard for me to be objective about the plot of the film because it is a part of my adolescent consciousnesses, but my wife watched it with me (her first time seeing it) and she really liked it. She was surprised by the complexity of the characters and the end of the movie. She said she would recommend it to her friends (at least the ones who like action movies!). If you have enjoyed this movie in the past you will LOVE this Blu Ray.

Max doesn't get mad; he gets even.

One of the best "end of the world/society runs amok" films, the Road Warrior is the sequel to the film Mad Max, made in Australia a few years before. Having lost his wife and child in the original film, Max now wonders aimlessly through the land in search of precious (and rare) fuel. In his travels, he comes across a desert output inhabited by a group of individuals determined to protect their gallons of fuel from a band of murderous motorists lead by a muscle bound mad man who's determined to get their fuel at any cost. What Max does in this situation is the core of the film and I will not spoil it here. Suffice to say, this is one of the best films of its kind. So if you have not already seen it, make a point of doing so.

Post Apocalyptic Movies don't require Zombies

There was a time when post apocalyptic movies weren't synonymous with zombies. This follow up to Mad Max features Mel Gibson's Max as the guardian and defender of a settlement from Barbarians in a bleak future where fuel is scarce. In a way it's like Seven Samurai, only instead of seven ronin there is just one salty former cop protecting the innocent from the vile. On Blu Ray, The Road Warrior looks better than ever and it remains an iconic piece of 1980's cinema. There is a commentary track and an introduction by Leonard Maltin, but it's a shame that there aren't a few more goodies on the disc.

Classic Film, Good Blu-Ray, Perferable Package

Taking a trip down memory lane in anticipation for the new Mad Max flick this summer. Road Warrior (aka Mad Max 2) is still a fun and well-mounted film. Considering all the stunts and action were undertaken in the era before digital effects and copious CGI it's especially impressive. The blu-ray itself looks great, there are a few moments that shine brighter than others as far as image clarity is concerned but chalk that up to the film itself. Still, it's probably the best this film has ever and possibly will ever look. Also, this will look better on your collection shelf than that awkwardly shaped tin box that houses the complete Mad Max collection released about a year ago.

The Road Warrior is an apocalyptic epic survival film set in the future where gasoline and machines rule. Survival is tough and you can't trust anyone. Mad Max played by Mel Gibson is a drifter after suffering some loss in the first film Mad Max.... Set in a wasteland of Australia he has to deal with bandits and nomads. The bandits he has to dodge death from are Humongous and his warrior gang. It is savage and spectacular. I was rooting for Mad Max!

The Road Warrior is a classic action film and the movie that first demonstrated what a star Mel Gibson would soon be. Filmed in Australia by George Miller, this sequel to their original film, Mad Max, is a post-apocalyptic demolition derby. It was created before the dawn of CGI, and all of it's stunts are for real, and breathtaking; particularly a stunt where one of the road predators is thrown end-over-end out of his crashed vehicle. The Blu-ray version of the movie is brilliant, the film probably never looked as good in it's initial theatrical run.

If you've seen the new film Mad Max: Fury Road and enjoyed it, you should check out the original films. While Mad Max (the original) is the start of the series,it's a little odd and unique in it's own way and not for everyone. It doesn't have the same "alone in the wasteland" feel that the later movies do. The Road Warrior is where it really starts. Great 80's action flick for those who want more Max!

This is a great apocalyptic story where the world runs out of gas, but the roving bands of marauders never seem to have issue finding the “juice.” My wife had never seen this movie, or Beyond Thunderdome, and I had to introduce her to the maddest Max I know. She loved the movies and I loved the Best Buy Price Match policy saving some serious cash by matching an online vendor.

Mel Gibson kicks butt and shows mankind how to live. My only desire is that Best Buy gets a steelbook format and 4K edition of Gibson’s Mad Max collection. The movie is based. Get this ASAP.

Some of us remember when this classic came out. Who knew it would stand the test of time and become such a classic. This movie can be summed with one word, "Action!" Even today with CGI in almost every movie, this stands out as a pure action movie. There's no CGI in this one folks...pure adrenaline rush. Go for it...you know you want to!

mel gibson gives an epic performance in this raw, apocalyptic story of mad max... didn't appreciate the nudity/sexual violence thrown in a few spots, but other than that is is a solid movie. If you are a car guy there's lots to appreciate here...

This is the film that establishes why a B-grade Australian franchise made a lasting global impact on the aesthetic of post-apocalyptic stories.

This is probably the best "End of the world" movie ever made. Vastly influential. Great cast, Great Scenery, Great dog, all ending with one of the greatest chase scenes ever. This is the movie that made Mel Gibson a star, and in a sense, Australia as well. Much better than its predecessor, or its sequel.

As a road warrior aficionado I endorse this DVD! I lost my vintage copy of the VHS, then lost my DVD copy (I think my road warrior friends are borrowing them and not returning them). This DVD has exceeded my expectations and I will not lend it to anyone. It will be under lock and key! Michael

Good old flick from back in the day when Mel Gibson was as unknown Aussie and their films were gritty. Blu-ray is always a nice option and makes for a nice choice to pull out and watch on a long winter night.

mel gibson started his career off with his role as mad max. The Road Warrior is the sequel to the beloved action flick. This movie is a full-throttle, pulse-racing action adventure. and for $5.99? that's about as good as it gets. "If it's all the same to you, I'll drive that tankah!"

This is one of my favorite movies. Blu-Ray is a bit wasted on it, since the quality of the film from which it was transferred is not all that great. I couldn't pass up the price, When I got it home I discovered I already had a Blu-Ray copy of it... ...It made a nce gift to my son.

Picked this up to re-watch after the recent film in the series, "Fury Road" - I watched this a lot as a kid and remember it fondly. Everything is as I remember it, and the transfer is pretty good, too. Real shame about the extreme lack of extras, though. Don't get this if you're expecting anything comprehensive. Or, you know, anything at all.

This is easily one of the greatest action movie ever. It's the film that turned Mel Gibson from a virtual unknown actor into one of the biggest brightest new stars on the scene. While Lethal Weapon turned him into A Mega star this film got him that job. Such a great movie you will not be disappointed with this one, if you're a fan of 80's action films!
