Customers are saying

Customers highly value the game's impressive graphics, engaging story, and the overall quality of the remaster. Positive feedback also highlights the enjoyable action and authentic driving experience, although some found the controls and certain racing sequences challenging. A few players noted that the open world felt somewhat limited. Despite some minor criticisms, the game's positive aspects appear to outweigh the negative for most players.

Game is fine itself, but I have a little trouble with 2k agreements. I clicked "NO" for my personal privacy concerns, then they asked me buy that game again LOL. I figured that out and now ok to play.

Being my first Mafia game, this was an amazing experience. Not only is the world of Lost Heaven a beautiful, yet grim place to be in (on my base PS4, this game looked incredible), but the characters are engaging and interesting to learn more about. Tommy Angelo is a great lead character, and the supporting cast is good as well. There also happens to be a fair amount of emotion to the game, with certain scenes becoming memorable due to that emotion. The driving in the game is authentic (you can shift gears for realism if you want) and grounded, while each gunfight is memorable and can be intense. I would also highly recommend playing this game on the Classic difficulty to get more of a realistic experience, but I also send you my luck during the infamous race section. Yes, the game doesn't have much to do in its open world, but that's one of the best things about this game. The city is in the background, while the deep story and characters take up a majority of your time. If you've never played a Mafia game before, please start here.

This was a great game! The audio of the game is incredible, ambiance, soundtrack, diolauge. This game was a lot of fun. In playing it I turned off all auto controls (manual shift only) turned off the HUD and it was extremely immersive and detailed. The story is engaging and the characters add to the overall experience. There are some issues I had with it, although the world was great and characters looked good, the controls still felt a little dated and the option to purchase the other Mafia titles took some time to navigate to. Overall, if you are looking for a 1930s Mafia adventure (and a fan of the old Godfater game) this is a great title to play through.

Never played a Mafia game and was very impressed with the visuals of this one when the initial trailer dropped. Gameplay: The game reminds me a lot of rockstar games in the way that it plays, I'm not the biggest fan of that particular gameplay style but I stuck with it. Specifically the driving and shooting could use some work. Graphics: I mean the game looks incredible, especially at night under all the neon lights! Content: So the game actually doesn't have much other than a very linear story and an open world, so after beating the game you're pretty much left with being able to drive around but nothing really to do like other open world games that actually have side missions and stuff, I mean collectibles are there but nothing worth exploring in my opinion. Story: So the story is the reason why I kept playing it, it was new to me and I was surprised with how good it held up, it's just really engaging and was what kept me playing to the end. Bug: The game can be buggy at times, there's an escort mission in the game that required me to drive a character to their home and they got stuck so I basically had to restart the mission, there's little instances like that throughout, I had to restart the game about 4 or 5 times. Final Thoughts: Regardless it was an excellent game, the fact that it's priced at 40$ makes it much more acceptable.

Solid remake of a classic game. I originally played Mafia decades when it first released on PC. It was a great game then, and it is a great game now but with much better graphics. You can play the game with a more modern difficulty option, or classic difficulty setting which plays like the original where you have to watch your speed and everything. The ending is overall the same, but they made a couple changes that I think make it even better than the original. If you have never played Mafia, you should know it has a fantastic story, characters, and soundtrack! It is an open world game, but the city serves more as a set piece than it does sandbox/playground. So if you enjoy story focused games, especially one without all the bloat so many games today have, then I definitely recommend giving Mafia Definite Edition a go.

As a longtime fan of the crime genre, Mafia 1 is a game I never had the pleasure of playing upon its initial release. However, I had a great time with the other 2 games in the trilogy - so this remake was an awesome surprise, as well as a beautiful introduction to a world and story that absolutely needs to be experienced, especially for fans of the subject matter. From the open sequences, this game exudes a feeling of CLASSIC, and I mean that in every way - from its place in gaming history and the scope of the complete rebuild, to the actual atmosphere inside the gameplay experience. Characters are straightforward, yet really well performed, making the story a somewhat by-the-numbers plot of the rise and fall that occurs in mafia settings, though this story also offers its own personality, enough to push its set of fingerprints into the genre mold. Gameplay is still something that reflects the era of the original, though it has been tweaked for modern comforts - the strides come in the form of an open-world with no side-missions, or much to explore for other than a few collectibles and secret cars. This is very much in the vein of L.A. Noire, though definitely not the same kind of game. Mafia is more reliant on action: shootouts and getaway driving. None of it ever really has the time to get boring, as the mission structure keeps the momentum rolling smoothly from one chapter to the next. Most missions never really feeling too short or too long, and often keeps the interest of going from one to the next a rather addictive progression. Before I knew it, I was sitting before the rolling credits, quite pleased with the lack of unnecessary exposition and petty side-missions, while still having a decent length in playtime - somewhere around 20-25 hours, all of it focused on story, while sticking some smaller missions for some character/world exposure. This is by far the best entry in the Mafia series, even better with this remade version, as the graphics look really good overall. Some background and side characters lack detail, but from what I’ve seen of the older game, this entire game is just absolutely wonderful and immersive. I really can’t recommend this game enough, especially to those really enjoy crime stories.

A fun Remaster but not Perfect

Let me start this but first saying that I never played Mafia when it was originally release way back in 2002. I did however play Mafia 2 and fell in love with the franchise. Then we got Mafia 3 and majority of us were really disappointed and rightfully so. So when this remaster was announced, I was very excited to finally try it and play a good Mafia after the disappointment of the 3rs entry. Let me start with the pros of this "built from the ground up remaster". Pros: Great story, very well written characters, realistic driving from that era, beautiful overall esthetic. Cons: They still don't know how to make chrome look like chrome, it's still unfortunately odd looking like Mafia 3. Weird lag when looking behind yourself when driving which was also in Mafia 3, and sometimes the lips of the characters when talking is off and oddly stiff. Overall this game is really fun and worth the $40 price point. They did an excellent job especially when you compare it the PS2 original. But i can't help but be really disappointed and even annoyed that some of the Mafia 3 garbage made its way into this much better game. But i was never say that any of the cons hold it back because they really don't. So I gave it 4/5, not a perfect score because all of the cons could have easily been avoided with some effort.

Got this on sale for $20 only complaint there was no side quest and the main story only had maybe 40 minutes of gameplay. The story was very good it keep you guessing on what's going to happen next.

Fantastic cutscenes beautiful characters now when it comes to driving they absolutely took their time getting these cars right the manual option in classic mode sure feels like it i think back in 1930s they had 3 gears Lol not the standard 5 gears so when changing gears the second and third feel alot faster than one. Now nothing is perfect especially video games lighting and textures in the day time feel awkward for me, NPCs in some places act like statues just stand thier or sit by a restaurant looking stupid, the game restarts by itself in some situations but maybe it's because i pre ordered mine not sure. Overall i love open world story driven linear, reading collections so on kind of games witcher 3 is an example among others forget online PVP open world exploration learn something spend hours doing something different not repetitive i love open worlds linear experience. Conclusion a must buy for mature people not kids i recommend to play on classic mode to give yourself a challenge don't be afraid to die alot, manual settings aim assist must be off and just immerse yourself in to 1930s America.

Never had a chance to play the original Mafia so I’m glad they came out with a definitive edition. The story is top notch and had me engaged throughout. Did not notice any bugs or issues throughout my gameplay. Even though the graphics are not next gen, they did a marvelous job in upgrading them considering the age of the game. Highly recommended.

WOW!! The setting of this game is what makes the entire play through of this game amazing. The vehicles and building structures. The language and weapons and clothes people wear are absolutely what makes this game super immersive. The story is also very very good and the the characters all have meaning in this story. The game play is awesome and flawless.
