Good for around pool. Installer said I could not hook up my CD player with this though.

My husband is really enjoying this product. It works well with our other Sono items. I love how it can be hidden in the ground away from people.

I own a magnolia sound system for my living room and it is the best movie, tv, and music home experience. When I received this outdoor system I had a feeling it would meet my expectations. I host movie nights at least once a month in my backyard of 1500 sqft so I knew the installation process was going to be difficult. What I ended up doing was running wires on the side of planters that had a crease in it to hide the cables as well as place the speakers next to them. All in all the process took my brother and me about 3 hours which included setting up to play music. Once everything was connected, the outdoor resonance and sound was spot on with concert vibes. Having speakers in all four corners provided multiple listening points where I could move around my backyard and never lose quality or loudness. The bass was felt through the ground and now movie nights are going to be 100 times better. The wireless connection between my phone and the system was great with no interruptions even when inside the home. I will be spending most of my time in the backyard now! You cannot go wrong with this outdoor system unless you don't want to struggle with set up. In that case, I would suggest hiring someone to install it for you. Other than that, the best outdoor home sound experience I could possibly imagine.

I have been looking for outdoor music system in the backyard and pool. I got Sonance - MAG 4.1 Outdoor Streaming Music System to fulfill my need. It came with Sonos AMP 250W Class D Amplifier, 4 satellite speakers, In-ground subwoofer, 2 Sonos banana plugs, 4 removable speaker stakes, 10 silicone filled wire nuts, iPort xPRESS audio keypad, Micro-USB to USB cable, Peel & Stick mount, mounting screws, Power cable and Owner's manual in the box. After unboxing, I have spent close to 2 hours in the backyard by digging the ground to run speaker wires and install the speakers. It did not come with longer speaker cables and I have ordered them from the local store. It should have been included with the speakers. After placing speakers and sub-woofer, I have downloaded the SONOS app and played music to make sure that everything is working as expected. I was able to access all music libraries from various music streaming apps. These Sonance outdoor speakers featured with 3 1/2" anodized aluminum cone and Santoprene™ surround for precision performance with balanced coverage and 8" in-ground dual voice-coil subwoofer to create optimal music enjoyment with bass. These speakers are built for all weather conditions. The sound quality is simply outstanding. I have adjusted the subwoofer settings and it is a mind-blowing sound experience. With Integrated multiroom control, I was able to control what's playing in any room from anywhere in my house. With Sonos Controller app, I was able to control the music and the volume in all of my rooms. I am a big fan of Sonance products after listening to music from these outstanding outdoor speakers. I am planning to buy more indoor speakers to get similar sound quality experience inside the home as well. We had a backyard party last week and all of my friends were impressed with the sound quality of these speakers. I cannot express the sound quality in words until you feel the experience after installing it at your home.

The Sonance Mag 4.1 Outdoor music system is one amazing package. In the box you get the 8” subwoofer with 4 3.5” speakers with stakes, the keypad, power cable, manual, and various install hardware. Setting it up initially requires some mechanical/ electrical know how but isn't to overwhelming if you take your time and have planned out the install beforehand. The main thing is running wires, choosing locations for the speakers and sub woofer. All in it takes a couple hours or so and is a lot easier with someone to assist. My backyard isn't very large but just large enough to have the speakers evenly spread out for a great surround experience. After everything is set up you can stream from a lot of different devices. You can also control your music via the app if you prefer that, or with the included keypad. The ability to stream from multiple devices is great. There is app support for streaming music services, but I prefer my good old library of music acquired through years of changing my preferred type of music. I basically have a bit of every genre. The sound is so good. There is a perfect mix of crisp highs, accurate mids, and low bass for some of my oldie but goodie hip hop. Im really not into the current top 40 type of music so its for me its a lot of 80's and 90's hip hop, rap, and a lot of Seattle style grunge. It all sounds amazing. Well balanced and strong sound coming from all 4 corners of the yard with solid accurate bass. Hope the neighbors dont complain too much. I cant wait to host my next backyard barbecue and surprise my friends that think Im just going to whip out the old boombox. No need to hunt down a bunch of DD batteries anymore, or have everyone huddling around someones phone for music. It will be a ton of fun being able to “take requests” like a DJ while someone else mans the barbecue.

What comes in the box: A 250W Sonos amp, 4 satellite speakers, four speaker stakes, an inground subwoofer, an iPort xPress keypad, wire nuts, power cable for the amp, banana plugs to securing the speaker wire to the amp, micro-USB to USB cable, peel and stick mount for the iPort xPress, mounting screws and the owner’s manual. The speakers themselves are weather-proof and can be kept outside. The amp however needs to be indoors. This can prove a bit tricky for setting this system up for year-round use. You will need to dig into the ground so that you can bury the speaker wire and keep the satellite speakers (with spikes for putting into the ground) about 6 – 8 feet apart and dig a hole to place the 8” subwoofer. Once you have that done, things go pretty easy. Wire the speakers into the amp, then download the Sonos app to set everything else up. The directions make things easy even for someone who is a bit unfamiliar with stereo systems. I have an older Sonos outdoor system, a Sonos amp and also two Sonos Play:1 speakers. Since all of these can work together, I have music inside and outside of my house. You simply use the Sonos app to make sure that all of your amps and speakers are linked together and music will flow through every area you want it to. With the Sonos app you can easily access all your music from just about any music library you have saved online or off, along with a number of different music streaming apps. The sound that comes out of these speakers and subwoofer are absolutely amazing! Crystal clear sound and once I adjusted the bass, it was just right, perfection and everything you would expect coming from the best. The hardest part of this whole process was the planning, digging, placement and wiring. The best part about this is that you can always add more on to the system without a big fuss. I can’t wait to have a party and brag about how they can hear the same music inside and outside of my house!

I was really excited about this system to fill in a dead spot in my backyard outdoor sound system on the backside of the pool. After reading all the good reviews and being a big sonos/sonance fan i decided to order it. The day i got it i opened it up and mocked the system up before the final install so i could get the speaker placement i wanted. As soon a i fired it up i knew i would be returning it. The sub sounds just ok but the satellite speakers sound flat and mushy. I tuned the EQ in the APP and it got a little better but no where near the rest of my outdoor system. I called Sonance the next day and they informed me that the satellite speak is a "one" way speaker with no high end tweeter hence the "flat" sound. I guess if you don't have anything else to compare it to it probably sounds ok, but i returned the package the following day. Side note- theSonance - Garden Series 8.1-Ch. Outdoor Speaker System with 2-Ch. Amplifier (8-Pack) - Dark Brown/Black has a "2 way" Satellite speaker which might sound better.

Ok, the setup on this was definitely not my favorite part. It took some time since the speakers are wired to get everything run correctly through my yard. And yes, wireless is easier to manage and get setup BUT the sound on this system cannot be beat. And let's be clear, I'm not just talking about the sound for an outdoor system. Overall, the sound for this system is phenomenal for ANY system (indoor or outdoor). I would highly recommend that you have at least one person helping you setup everything so that you can test as you go, otherwise, there will probably be a lot of back and forth making sure everything is connected and working properly. That being said, once we finished setup, we found it was absolutely worth the effort. The Sonance system gives you a deep, rich experience that you can immerse yourself in anyway in the backyard. I have a backyard on the smaller side and thought this might be overkill but it just makes being outside that much more enjoyable. Although setup wasn't the simplest I've ever experienced, I can't even take a star off for that because the end result has been so enjoyable.

I’ll be honest...I was skeptical about needing this when I have some pretty great sounding portable speakers that have been enjoyed during every cookout I’ve hosted but I was wrong. Amazing sound that makes everything else I’ve used before seem like a cruel joke. I am excited to have another gathering to flaunt it. Set up was a bit of a pain but wasn’t really difficult. Some may prefer to pass the install on to someone else if their patience is low, but otherwise anyone should be able to handle doing it. Definitely worth trying this out if you want exceptional sound quality for your outdoor activities

I admit, I lost a little bit of patience having to run wires all around my backyard just to install these speakers. In a wireless era, I was questioning myself, why do I have to run wires across my lawn just to experience music that I can probably hear from wireless systems. The thing is, I was wrong in many ways and I will try to explain it the best way I can: 1) Even my high-end wireless speakers do not sound this good! Even for wireless speakers that have great full sound, those speakers have nothing on this system that has an unspeakable balance of smoothness and crisp. I do not know if I even made sense there. I played George Michael, Queen, Sting, Cypress Hill and Marshmello—there is something in the delivery that sucks me into the music and makes me feel every little detail of the tunes. 2) it is a 2.1 system but the way it engulfs my space is amazing. It has a MASTERY of what AMBIENT music is--- I tried putting a song in low volume—the music is everywhere without compromising the details of the song. I was listening to it and my lady was staring at me because she said, I looked like I wanted to cry; maybe I did want to. I love music and I am so happy this thing knows how to deliver how I want my music to be. 3) I also have other wired setups—but this one has me wowed. There is a certain conviction with the way music is thrown on a wired setup, we know that. This one though has some sort of presence. It is surround but it has a balance of level on different spots of my backyard. It’s like it knows what to let you hear wherever you are on the floor; and it makes it sound consistent. I know it is a high-end system. But not all high-end systems deliver, thus my disbelief on certain brands. After really experiencing Sonance, on an open space, I am a believer. It is worth all my frustration with the wires. I want everyone to experience what I hear with this system. Looks like I will be having more parties at home!

We live in a very small house, but we have a good sized yard. We got the Sonance - MAG 4.1 Outdoor Streaming Music System as part of an ongoing project to improve to our backyard and, therefore, enlarge our comfortable living space. This system has seriously pushed that project forward in a wonderful way. The sound in our outdoor patio area rivals our much smaller living room sound system (which, admittedly, was a fair bit cheaper). Using the system, I have seamlessly played stored music, streamed music, and even played music from my wireless record player, all with impressively good sound quality. As this is my first Sonance/Sonos product and I'm really happy with it, I fully intend to invest in expanding the system throughout my house. I have two (minor, and probably self-inflicted) complaints. The first is that after paying as much as we did for an admittedly premium sound system, I was a bit annoyed to have to go back out and buy the appropriate, outdoor speaker wire. I really do wish that wire had been included in the box, even if it meant that I had to pay a bit more. My second complaint is my own fault and that's that I didn't pay someone to come out and do the installation. It isn't a difficult product to get up and running, but there is a significant amount of digging that needs to be done and given my age and my clay soil, it would have been way easier to have hired Bestbuy to do it. In fact, that might have solved my first complaint, too. I would recommend this to anyone with an outdoor living space. I would also recommend having someone else install it. Doubly so if you have clay soil.

System is great but it didn't come with the remote. Best buy refused to fix it.

The Sonace Outdoor Streaming System has elevated my backyard to that of a resort. I never imagined having such awesome sound system in my backyard surrounding the pool. The first thing you will need to decide when you open this massive box of sound is if you are able to do the installation your self. It is a big job that requires planning and penetration through a wall of your home (to the amp). We thought about using the Geek Squad which quoted me $149 for installation which is a great price especially if you are not handy or have a handy husband around like me. We ended up doing the install ourselves because we could bury the wires along the screen of the pool enclosure and run the wire through a hole we already had for a security camera into the house to the amp. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. You will need to purchase wire on your own - it does not come with the system. Once we had the system up and running the sound was amazing. I really can't believe how nice it is to have the surround sound around the pool like that. The sound quality is amazing turning it up as far as I could (which is not all the way) because I did not want to totally freak out my neighbors. If you want a quality sound system - I recommend the Sonace.

I have wanted a outdoor speaker set for sometime. I finally had the chance to put one in the back yard this fall. This system is impressive and I had to give it a try. This system does take a invest of time to get set up. The speakers and sub are all wired to the sonos amp. So be sure to make a plan about how you want it set up before you start to place the wires. The amp is great as it works with my other sonos wireless system i already have. It also allow you to stream the same music inside and out. The sound quality was much more then I had expected from a outdoor system. Everything is clear with great tone in the high and low ranges. All i can say is WOW. If you have a afternoon and want to put in a high quality future proof outdoor system i would recommend this one. You wont be sorry.

Living in the country has many benefits. One being that it is little noise from cars and such. So I can have the best listening experience and also play it as loud as I want. This set up delivered one of the best sound qualities I've heard outside. The actual setup was not as bad as I expected it to be. Once you get everything set up you will probably have to move the speakers to get the best sound but that is with any good speaker set up! Overall I love this and would recommend to anyone looking to make their outside partying or get together life style the best experience.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" certainly rings true with this outdoor system. Not only do you and your guests experience crisp clean sound, the need for a complex install was completely engineered out of this system. I have some rock speakers and an outdoor sub already, however each needed to be wired individually complicating the install and setup. With this product, you only need one direct burial wire run which connects the entire system. I thought that it may be underpowered especially with the subwoofer wired together with the satellites, but Sonance and Sonos have paired an amp with the speakers that is perfect. The instructions were very clear on the spacing of each of the speakers to envelope the desired area in sound. No matter where you walk throughout the setup area, you get even sound without the effect of feeling like a left speaker is missing or a right speaker doesn't get to your ears fast enough for your brain to process the complete soundstage. It just works, and it works much better than piecing individual speakers and amps for each channel. The satellites produce a warm and inviting atmosphere without any tinny sounds that a lot of outdoor speakers I hear produce. I know it is difficult to produce an all weather system without compromise in quality, however these are by far the best quality sounding outdoor speakers I have ever heard. The quality and clearness is much better than even good quality indoor speakers when I sit and enjoy the outdoor symphony this system delivers. If you are a bassaholic, you would definitely want to maybe add a sub or go with one of the lager more capable subs in the sonance lineup, but the 8" included here is no slouch. Don't even worry about the gut wrenching feeling that the wife will make your life miserable because of how much you spent on the system...once she experiences the relaxing and obvious quality of this system, she probably won't even ask because she likes it more than you do!! Do yourself a solid and don't try to piece together a system of future headaches and disappointment, go with this system and feel good about it. You will not regret it.
