Excellent keyboard except for one thing....

I like the general feel of this keyboard and love the fact that it work seamlessly with universal control.
Unfortunately, it lays flat unless you buy a keyboard lift to angle it to improve wrist comfort.

To save wear and tear on my M1 MacBook Pro keyboard, I picked up this Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and now keep my MacBook closed and protected w/a docking station. My initial impression was that the 'feel' learning curve would be slight, these are both Apple keyboards after all, right? Wrong. The Magic Keyboard keys are spaced ever so slightly different than on my MacBook and the feel is quite a bit less gratifying to type on overall. My WPM has dropped significantly and my errors are about 10x what they used to be - even after 2 weeks of use. I'll keep trying to use it because I really need the touch ID button for ease of use but so far I'm not particularly impressed. It's a better than average keyboard I think, but it's not clicking with me as a decade-long Macbook keyboard user.
And don't even get me started on the price. Logitech sells better keyboards for half this $179 nonsense.

OK, you have to admit this is crazy expensive for a keyboard. The keyboard works just like any other keyboard, with the exception of the fingerprint sensor. I have found it works flawlessly with my laptop. I use the docking station at work and at home so the laptop is normally closed. This button has made all the difference and blurring the lines between the desktop and a laptop.

Amazing and responsive keyboard. Long lasting battery, immediate connection, and very responsive. Only issue is the Touch ID is stillllllll on and off. I cannot seem to get it to work perfectly and often have to reach over to my MacBook to use Touch ID.

Great keyboard for my Mac Mini, looks good, holds a charge for a long time, and I can use the touch key. Very easy to set up and sync with my computer.

Oh Apple products, I’ve drunk your Kool-Aid. I LOVE this keyboard with the TouchID key. It makes all the difference when I’m working with my laptop propped on a stand. Watch out for the sneaky World key if you use several language keyboards. It’s great when I want to switch character sets, but when I get lazy with my hand position, look out!

The Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is exactly what i needed to pair with my Macbook Air. There was hardly any setup and the charge lasts for my 8 (sometimes 10) hour work day.

The Logitech MX Keys for Mac is better

I had to get a new keyboard that was Mac compatible out the box, and really hoped this was going to be worth the cost. It definitely has a much higher build quality than almost any other keyboard, including similarly priced gaming ones. And I love that it has Touch ID (which also works great, never had an issue). And it arguably has the fastest keystroke response time of any wireless keyboard I’ve ever tried.
However, there are 2 cons that were just too big for me to keep it. First, the keyboard not only doesn’t have any height/angle adjustment, but the default is way too flat to type comfortably for extended periods of time. $30 keyboards have had this feature for decades. And second, I just can’t for the life of me understand why they would sell a keyboard - for $200 nonetheless - without giving it backlit keys. Even if you don’t sit in complete darkness, it’s still nice to have. And again, cheaper keyboards have this, and even let you change the brightness.
Ultimately, these were just too annoying for me to continue using it for 50+ hours a week. I got the Logitech MX Keyboard for Mac, which is $80 cheaper. It’s not just less expensive, it’s also a better product. So I unfortunately will be returning this.

Excellent keyboard. Like the key travel. And Touch ID is a plus. Works either with a cable or bluetooth.

I’ve always loved the Apple magic keyboard, and the very low profile. Typing speed is great accuracy is great. Unfortunately, I took one star off because they still, after years, have not changed the hardware at all. With everything else going with USB-C, keyboard still requires Apple’s old lightning charging cable. To me that’s ridiculous. Every other device I own, including newer Apple devices use USB-C.

I like that i can use tough id to unlock my mac. Build quality is nice. But i wish it has back light and it is a bit flat. I reccomend putting it at an angle for better comfort while working.

Nice keyboard, but expensive. I like the convenient feature of the Touch ID. I bought this to replace an older AA battery powered Apple keyboard and use them with my Mac and also a PC laptop. Unlike the older keyboard, this one will not automatically Bluetooth switch between the two computers. I have to use charging cable to connect to my PC, then unplug to allow Bluetooth connection to my Mac.

Best Apple Keyboard Yet

My favorite Apple keyboard. I've had most of the Apple keyboards in the past 15 years and this is my favorite so far. Nice haptic feedback, love the touch ID, and a num pad is critical for me. I wish it charged via USB-C, but since Apple has now moved the iPhones to USB-C, I'm sure future models of this will too.
It's great, what else is there to say.
