Defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This factory refurbished unit would probably been a good value for the dollar. It looked brand new. Unfortunatly the DVD tray would not operate and it had to be returned. The refund was timely but I still incured a $25 shipping fee to return it and still had to go out and find something else. A bit annoying, but that's life!

NEVER AGAIN

I have not been able to use it at all because it will not stay on. It has nothing to do with the standby button. You can turn it on by pressing play, opening thte dvd player or by using the on/off button. It doesn't matter which way you do it, it turns off in 20-25 seconds EVERY TIME! I WILL NEVER BUY REFURBISHED PRODUCTS AGAIN.

not cable tv friendly!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I had known it wasnt compatible with CABLE TV..I was told I would need an external tuner..at this point, not sure if I'll keep this unit or not..Im using an old magnavox vcr recorder/player and it accepts my cable tv..

Didn't work out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to transfer my old VHS tapes to DVD. I put in a tape, and the whole unit shut down. When I turned it back on, it spit out the tape. I repeated this 15 times or so and it kept doing the same thing. Guess it's going back...very disappointing.
