Pretty much any movie I purchase is decent entertainment and most of the reviews start with that title. This is an older title that I happened to see on sale and grabbed it for my collection. I enjoyed watching this movie when I saw it back when it came out. It is a darker telling of the sleeping beauty story and was done very well.

Jolie doesn’t disappoint in a solid origin story of one of THE titular Disney Villainesses.

Enjoyed this movie when I bought the blu ray. Now I can watch it in spectacular 4K.

I rewatched this before seeing the new one and still loved it all these years later

No one but such a remarkable actor as Angelina Jolie can bring such a lasting impression of evil turned good. This first film is loaded with fun, excitement, great effects and a memorable retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale. Disney again can retell a classic fairy tale in a way that is not only a new fairy tale, but gives meaning to why Maleficient is who she is. I am a great fan of this Disney tale, it is a fitting precursor to its followup Disney film that brings it all together in another new fairy tale to remember.

"Maleficent" explores the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the classic "Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king's newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

Good show we bought it ether family. Usually don’t buy DVD’s but had a gift card.

This is one of my daughters favorite movies and has been added to our family rotation.

Great movie and the steelbook looks awesome. Wonder when the sequel comes out

I love maleficent. Bought this one last because i loved the movie so much i needed EVERY FORMAT!!! also if you watch the extras Angelina 's daughter is the 3 year old Aurora character Angelina picks her up & little girl touches her horns. I also believe Angelina playing maleficent makes you real love that character, not sure another actress could make you feel that. I even watch maleficent every times it plays on regular tv or cable station.

This movie is a good sequel that kept the story line and audience interest

With the male five to 2 come out in October my not re watch the first movie

A twist on Cinderella in which i didn't see coming. Gotta see to believe

If you're a Disney fan or just love movies overall I definitely recommend this. Trust me I was hesitant at first to buy it and watch it. Even though I heard plenty of positive things about the movie, I just didn't want to watch a live action remake of Sleeping Beauty. I was proven wrong though since the film makers reimagined Maleficent in a beautiful twist. You'll love this movie if you're in to fantasy and or action movies. The whole family can watch it together. Trust me there's nothing vulgar or too scary in it. It's a great time to be a Disney fan with all these great movies.

Good movie worth watching and i got this on sale so it was a double deal

I admittingly was skeptical of this movie when it came on the theaters. So I did not take the kids to see it. However, my daughter went with a family friend to see it and loved it. So when this came out on Blu-Ray, we purchased it and watched it over the weekend. I give this 2 thumbs up and it takes the standard story of Maleficent and puts a twist to it. You see the story from her view and it is a happier ending for Maleficent and Aurora. The ending is a more modern day Disney than it was from the cartoon animation back in the day. Highly recommend, but there may be a couple creepy moments for very young kids.

A spin of an Old Tale Sleeping Beauty spun in a new fashion, told with modern cinematography, CGI and accompanied by a competent and spirited sound track that is at times a bit dark. The 7.1 sound effects presents “racking” realism – you are there in the middle-of-it and it’s real because it sounds real! The film incorporates extensive use of CGI with striking visual effects which could be freighting to a young child – the films rating really should be PG-13 vice PG – images of hideous animal like “tree soldiers” and an “extended” fire-spitting dragon scene may be too much for a young child.
