An intriguing twist on an old story. When I first saw this, I thought, "Yay, another helpless damsel-in-distress story, where everything wrong is because of a woman, and then she (or another woman) has to sit and wait for a white knight to save the day." I couldn't have been more wrong. A little predictable at times, but still funny and heart-wrenching.

All the details in the movie were excellent. Disney made an interesting retelling of one of their classics, which repainted Maleficent in a new way. The only complaint that we have is that Disney still refuses to release movies in 3D blu-ray format in the United States, but release them in a 3D bundle pack in many countries in Europe and Asia and even in Mexico.

This movie explained the story behind the feared character Malificient's origin. Story line was different than your usual Disney plots but entertaining and visually appealing to children and adults. Only annoying thing was the 3 faury godmother which were the typical goofy Disney type characters that somehow finds its way into these otherwise well written script.

This movie really surprised me because they took the ago old story of Sleeping Beauty and told it from a totally different perspective. It also gives the main character a background story and shows why she grew to be the way she is in the original animated Disney classic, Sleeping Beauty. Overall, I would highly recommend this blu ray. I hope they make a sequel.

What a great story line on the whole Sleeping Beauty story. This story captured my girls’ hearts and imagination and I have to admit that as a father, I enjoyed the story as well. And Best Buy’s sales make this a relatively cheap addition to our library especiallly given how many times the girls have watched it already!

Great performances all around from all the actors. I really liked the different direction the movie took with the story line. It's wonderful to look at, so many things to see. I definitely recommend watching it first before letting "little ones" see it. Some scenes can be scary. Otherwise, I think it's a wonderful family movie with some hidden messages. Enjoy!

We love this movie. My boys are 6 and 3 and I still think it's a little too advanced for them. There are some dark parts and so they haven't seen it. But as a Disney fan overall, I like how they retold this story. Angelina Jolie does a great job and the effects are cool too. Nice music and still magical.

Angelina Jolie absolutely commands the attention of the viewer for every minute she is on the screen. The story is wonderfully woven into the original classic and at this time I can't imagine anyone else as Maleficent but Angelina Jolie. The only downside was the casting/story of the three fairies, but at the end of the day didn't ruin the experience for me.

Angelina Jolie does the fantastic job in this movie as Maleficent. The special effects are incredible, characters well developed and great for all ages. We saw this in the theater and my kids immediately said "dad can we go pick it up at the store now?" Great movie that will give you the story from Maleficent's standpoint. You and your family will love it.

initially i thought this movie was just -okay- but after seeing all the live action remake garbage disney sharted out after it - I've now come to find i have much more appreciation for this unique adaptation

This film blew me and my family away. My 5 yrs. old daughter is taken to a world of enchantment, from the beautiful beginning. The middle is filled with excitement and valor! The ending is something you would not like to see coming! It was the perfect way to tell the story before the story! I can watch it multiple times and get a new meaning out of each!

I didn't manage to see this in the theatres but am a Disney fan from way back and Maleficent was always one of my favorite "villains". I loved this telling of this version of the tale. It paid plenty of homage to the original Sleeping Beauty but I think I like this idea of Maleficent better. I think this would be an enjoyable watch for just about anyone.

Loved it actually. I am NOT an Angie fan but she did a really good job. Love the perspective that this movie was told in. I use to purchase A LOT of dvds, but now that they have gone to the choose either DVD or Blu-ray formats I don't purchase nearly as much. Disney is still offering the Blu, DVD, and didgital for 19.99 at my BB so its still a good deal.

I loved this take on an old classic. It was very creative. The acting was great, the cinematography was awesome as were the special effects. Great family movie night. Some of the action and images might be a little much for really small children, but then again the old Disney Classic of Sleeping Beauty scared my niece when we took her as a 3 year old.

MALEFICENT is for me one of DISNEY'S best adaptation of a character of great darkness. The movie give you clear knowledge that in every soul there is a good side that sometimes we don't get to see it, but in this case we do in a great way!!! INCREDIBLE SPECIAL EFFECTS, GREAT SOUND, Angelina's best performance!! A MUST HAVE IN EVERY BODYS COLLECTION!!!

This film is one of the most magical and enchanting adaptations of this story I've seen to date. Angelina Jolie played her role above and beyond what I expected, and in my opinion, brought an emotionality to the movie that would have been lacking otherwise. There are some aspects that may be disturbing for little ones, but it is certainly a must see.

Obviously, any new DVD/BlueRay will be in mint condition but the film itself should be heralded as in Disney's top 10 movies (including animated features) in their history. Angelina gave 1 of her finest performances, the CGI was seamless and magnificent and in every respect, a flawless production. If you don't like this film, seek professional help.

Maleficent is a remake of the Disney classic "Sleeping Beauty." I assumed that I knew what it was going to be about but, it turned out to be a totally unpredictable and amazing movie. Maleficent is about a betrayed fairy (Angelina Jolie) that curses the king's infant daughter Aurora as revenge. She soon discovers that when Aurora grows up, she is the only one who can restore the peace and happiness that everyone needs to get them out of the depression caused by revenge and war. This movie takes "Sleeping Beauty" and turns it into a completely different movie.

I purchased this Blu-ray disc for my children. We saw the movie in theater when it first came out, and absolutely loved it! We have been counting the days for its release, and are so excited to add it to our collection. This movie is not only cinematically impressive, but also pulls at your emotional heartstrings in some of the most unexpected ways.

This is the movie that Angelina Jolie will be known for. Even though she will probably be in many more films, she embodied this character and did a great job. Some may not like some of the twists on the original story but they did a great job and this is worth watching. Disney comes through with another spectacular disc, perfect picture and sound.
