Excellent quality 4K SteelBook. This steelbook has some very nice looking artwork. It’s only available at BestBuy so you might want to get a copy soon before it sells out and becomes out of print. The only reason I’m giving this four stars instead of five is because it doesn’t include the extras that come with the Criterion Collection Blu-ray that was released in 2005. This film is directed by Nicolas Roeg and stars David Bowie, Rip Torn and Candy Clark. This film also has very good ratings. It has an 81 on both Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. It also gets a 6.6 on IMDb.

I’ve always wanted this movie but was bummed I could never have a good physical version since the Criterion Collection went out of print. Thankfully I get a beautiful STEELBOOK version in 4K! Glad that this thing exists!

I hadn't seen this movie since i was a little boy . I really enjoyed it more now that I'm old enough to appreciate. I also would recommend on packaging alone. I'm really liking the BB double picture covers.

Great looking steelbook of one of Lionsgate's more obscure titles. I'm thankful that Best Buy keeps titles like this in stock for us collectors!

Very cool steelbook for a very strange David Bowie movie. This slipcase effect is very well done.

The movie is more five star then ever. The packaging is gorgeous. The 4K video is the best this classic has ever looked. The only downside - the terrible terrible blu-ray transfer. Stick with the Criterion if you stick with regular blu-ray.

"The Man Who Fell to Earth," directed by Nicolas Roeg, is a mesmerizing sci-fi film that has captivated audiences since its release in 1975. This SteelBook edition, complete with a digital copy and presented in stunning 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, offers a visually striking and immersive experience for fans of the genre.
The film follows the enigmatic Thomas Jerome Newton, brilliantly portrayed by David Bowie in his debut leading role. Newton is an alien from a drought-stricken planet who arrives on Earth seeking a solution to his planet's crisis. As he navigates human society, he becomes entangled in the complexities of our world, confronting themes of identity, capitalism, and the destructive nature of power.
One of the most remarkable aspects of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" is its atmospheric and unconventional storytelling. Director Nicolas Roeg employs a fragmented narrative structure, weaving together past and present, fantasy and reality, to create a disorienting yet thought-provoking viewing experience. This approach enhances the film's themes and amplifies the sense of alienation felt by the protagonist.
The restoration and remastering work done on this edition is truly outstanding. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray transfer presents the film with remarkable clarity and detail, breathing new life into the stunning cinematography by Anthony B. Richmond. The vibrant colors and the meticulous attention to visual aesthetics make every frame a visual feast, especially in the alien landscapes and Newton's futuristic inventions.
The SteelBook packaging is a collector's dream, featuring stunning artwork that captures the essence of the film. Its sturdy construction ensures the protection of the disc and adds an additional touch of elegance to the overall presentation. The inclusion of a digital copy is also a welcome addition, allowing viewers to enjoy the film on various devices.
As for the bonus features, this edition offers a decent selection. While not extensive, they provide valuable insights into the making of the film. The interviews with key cast and crew members shed light on the creative process and the film's enduring legacy. It would have been even better to have additional commentaries or a retrospective documentary, but the available features still enhance the overall package.
It's worth noting that "The Man Who Fell to Earth" may not appeal to everyone. Its deliberately slow pace and ambiguous storytelling can be challenging for those seeking conventional sci-fi thrills. However, for fans of thought-provoking cinema and admirers of David Bowie's talent, this film remains an essential piece of artistic exploration.
In conclusion, the SteelBook edition of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" is a must-have for collectors and fans alike. The impeccable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray transfer, the visually stunning presentation, and the inclusion of a digital copy make it a worthy addition to any film library. Explore the enigmatic journey of Thomas Jerome Newton and immerse yourself in a visually stunning sci-fi experience.

This is an incredibly well written, well acted and beautifully told story of an alien on a mission to save his species who comes to earth with an belief his "blueprint" of how to do so would be laid out for him.... But upon getting here he realized his perspective was far to narrow to know what questions he needed to even ask to be remotely successful in his task
The writing is well done, the story is well told. The acting is really spectacular but what I liked most was how it opens ur mind to the way we all think, coming only from a perspective that we have built based on our experiences. It's really quite a unique show but it's also FUN to watch.

Glad to get this all-time favorite movie on 4k. The image quality is not as good as I hoped, but it's probably the best it can be. It's certainly, an upgrade over the 1080p Blu-ray. I would have like if it had HDR. The only other thing I don't like is the cover art, which is not only bland, but it references the Ziggy Stardust stage makeup which is absolutely unrelated to this film. By the way, it appears this Best Buy exclusive disc is the only 4K version released in the US. Other than the packaging, it appears to be the same as the Studio Canal version released in Europe ... but this is half the price!

great 4k presentation of a classic movie, in a really cool case. only downside is that the slipcover might trick the uninitiated into thinking this is a concert film or has anything to do with Bowie's music. nope, just a weird depressing movie about an alien coming to earth and getting hooked on our drugs and stuff!

Very underrated and overlooked film. This is Bowies' first major film role. The acting and visual style is exceptional (although go in it expecting more Ziggy Stardust than Bowie in terms of character). If you are into scifi drama, take the risk and watch it. For being made in the 70s, this movie holds up fairly well in terms of effects and story/ plot. Captivating, really.

A sci-fi dream that is put together with great craft by Nicholas Rory. The film is put together like a puzzle that can be interpreted many ways. Strong performances from David Bowie, Candy Clark, and Rip Torn. Not for all tastes but if you appreciate 70’s sci fi this is one to seek out. The 4K transfer was breathtaking.

This is probably the most beautifully looking steelbook I own. I am SO happy I own it.
The 4K transfer is pretty good, I like it very much. It definably adds a lot to the film.
The movie is not for everybody. Pretty weird and existentialist, but I get a blast of David Bowie looking perfect for almost 2 hours.

I’ve been a Best Buy customer for many years now and they are my go to store for physical media. The Man who fell to earth cover and art is just that. A piece of art to be proudly displayed. The transparent slip covers that add texture to the art is an awesome bonus.
