Customers express satisfaction with the Compact Advanced Smart 65" Tripod's sturdiness, lightweight design, and affordability. Many appreciate its compact size, convenient for portability. However, some users point out the lack of a built-in level and find the handles somewhat awkward to use. A few also mention challenges with leg extension and panning smoothness.

We recently purchased a new telephoto lens for my wife's camera that was too heavy for her to shoot with after about an hour of picture taking. We talked to a professional photographer who immediately pointed us towards this tripod. He even had the model # and checked the Best Buy in his town for us to make sure they had it in stock, which they did. The price is very reasonable but the main thing is that this tripod is very sturdy and very easy to use.
We had an earlier tripod that made me feel like I was trying to solve a Rubic's Cube when I tried to adjust it. This tripod is very easy to adjust.

Great travel tripod for the money

Let me start by saying I've only owned high-end Bogen / Manfrotto tripods. They are more expensive but durable and will last forever. I've had to basically give away older Bogen tripods that work fine but just got sick of seeing hanging around. I wouldn't touch Sunpack, Vivitar or any of those cheap things they sell on Amazon.
This Manfrotto tripod is a good value. What you need to know is that it is not made of the same quality as more expensive pro tripods. The material of the plate and other parts, quite frankly, look like they came out of a gumball machine.
However, the tripod is fairly light for a 65" extension. Sure, there are lighter tripods but they won't extend as long or give you any stability.
Does this tripod give you stability? Sure, maybe with a smartphone (note: it does include a phone holder), but for a DSLR I would not trust it. For higher shutter speeds OK (but then why not handhold) but for lower shutter speeds I would definitely use the shutter release timer.
I shot with this tripod in high winds and had to weigh it down with my backpack and body weight. It isn't really meant for extreme conditions.
The other caveat I have is with the leg extension levers. A couple of them did not lock-in (making the bottom leg extension useless) and I almost brought the tripod back. But, after a while of working-in the folding levers they eventually stuck and I was able to use the full extension.
Conclusion: This is a $99 tripod that is not as light as you would hope, but is light enough to attach to a backpack. Don't expect the usual Bogen Manfrotto high quality, but you have to give up something to make it easy to carry. A good value for the money, but if you're getting paid for a professional shoot look at something that costs 2-3x more.

First off I am not using this for a camera. I actually use it for mounting a small table top telescope that I got for my daughter. The telescope weighs about 6.5 lbs and this thing holds it very steady. It is easy enough to adjust to line the telescope up with viewing even Saturn where we were able to view the rings. I told the salesman what I was looking to do with it and he recommended this one and I have not been disappointed.

This tripod was such a delightful surprise! It is incredibly well constructed and sturdy and easy to use and really compact fits in a roll-on bag. The only small issue I have is that is the plan is to use it for video that there is no Panhead meaning it is a board down and side to side but when you lock it, it will not work as for panning video.

I'm pretty cheap so I try to get things as cheap as possible. If I had more money, I would recommend spending more money. The joint on this things is very tight and difficult to move around and figure out. It's a durable tripod but I really don't like the mounting joint and movements. Overall I'll keep this and it's good for what you pay for but I don't love it.

Very sturdy and rugged. Love it. I wish it had a couple of levelers (the $20 model has two levelers) but it's not a must. Instruction, however, was useless. Prints were so small that you'd need a magnifying glass to read it. Other than that, a solid piece for the price. FYI - I am just an amateur photographer and have a lot to learn.

Amazing, I can take it with me anywhere and it is very easy to use. As a journalism student, it is very hard to find affordable high quality products that I can use for my projects. Not only can I set it up in a matter of minutes, it is also very durable and I can take it on my projects. This was perfect and it shipped fairly quickly as well
