Mario Party comes back with new modes, mini games and of course HD graphics. The latest in the Mario Party series doesn't shy away from crazy mini games that are fun to play on there own, however, from looking at the main menu for the first time to playing all the boards in two nights, you can't help but feel like Nintendo rushed the game out of the door. Mario party has usually been a game to set up for parties, for when friends come over, or a game to play with your kids, this one is no different and undoubtedly provides hours of fun with others. Bowser Party throws in a new experience where you try to make everyone else lose, it's fun for a while but loses appeal after one or two games of being Bowser. Usually I'd pass the Wii U tablet around so that everyone can play as him once, the experience was enjoyable but not as fun as playing a standard character. I've also known Mario Party with a good single/two player experience, where the boards and mini games have enough personality to where two people can competitively play and still have fun for hours, this one does not seem to follow. Mario Party 10 follows Mario Party 9's "All players in one car" which completely cuts out 90% of the strategy on playing the standard boards, it's hard to plan landing at a certain spot or using items to beat your foes when others will determine your location before it's even your turn. Once it is your turn you simply roll the dice and wait again, the maps seem bland and feel like you're going in a straight line with one or two slight events thrown in. There is no single player mode or story associated with it and makes unlocking items feel like filling in check-boxes rather exploring new ways to enjoy the game. Amiibo party throws things back to where you can each move separately from each other with tons of small features and visuals to keep you interested. I believe I've played more Amiibo Party than the regular Mode and Bowser mode combined. Game is enjoyable with others, but if you're expecting to get your $50/$60 worth you may be disappointed. Still a fun game I play about once a week but the overall package feels watered down compared to the Mario Parties in the Gamecube or Nintendo 64 era. I'd give it a 3.5/5 if possible.

    Fun mini games as always!

The majority of the mini games are lots of fun, for the most part. I really like the new bowser party! It's a fun and interesting concept. I hope nintendo adds more bowser party minigames in the future. I'm still not much of a fan of the formula that was added in Mario Party 9. Instead of being on separate places and being able to control direction of your character, you and the other players are all stuck together in a single Cart, working together and against each other at the same time. This mode is fine, but I wish there was a mode for the traditional play. Amiibo mode somewhat incorporates the traditional mode, but it's on a small board (like a board game). It's intesterig and fun and annoying. I hate having to tap the amiibo every time I roll my dice. It l's neat, but it gets old. Overall, I would still recommend this game!

This game continues the unrivaled success of the mario party serie . The best part of the game of course is playing mini games with your friends, always a joy and definitely exciting and challenging. The game has some great features like being able to disable luck games if you want to play skill onl . Also, the inclusion of amiibos is fun, although notell that though all amiibos can be linked up for a daily bonus, only the character amiibos found in the game itself can be played on the amiibo board. Three game types, first the amiibo board in which you use amiibos to separately travel the board working to buy the stars, the person with the most at the end wins. Definitely reminiscent of older mario parties. The second is the group board where everyone travels together trying to get the most mini stars, my least favorite because I would prefer to travel separately. Arguably my favorite mode is the bowser mode, in which the goal is to reach the end and get the star before he stops you, more challenging and exciting then one would expect, but definitely loads of fun. Overall a fantastic game, though I would recommend getting at least one amiibo to play the amiibo board if you like to travel individually.

Half the fun of the old Mario Party games was the festering of hatred for your closest friends as they got the stars before you. The everyone-in-a-vehicle-in-the-same-spot style of this Mario Party (and I think 9, too) just doesn't do it for me. That said, the mini games are very fun! The Bowser Party mini games are a bit lacking in number, but the regular mini games are wonderful--if only they were more prevalent. Bowser Party addition is a novel idea and can be fun under the right circumstances. Essentially, the non-Bowser players are running away from the person with the gamepad (Bowser), which would be much more exciting if Bowser didn't have four dice, sometimes five, and had the option to reroll once per turn. It keeps the mini games coming, but, again, since it's the Bowser Party mode, there aren't a wide variety of mini games. At the end of the day, though, it's a fun game when you have 4 or 5 people around to play it with. It's mostly about playing with friends. And since it's relatively cheap if you get it without the amiibo, I could probably feel safe recommending this. As long as you have people to play it with.

I have only played a few hours of this and although it is fun I feel it could be better. Although it is a personal preference I would have preferred if pro controllers could be used, but the game only allows Wii Motes. I also am not a huge fan of the everyone riding together game play. I would have preferred a board style game like the old N64 games. The mini games are decent, but overall I would say they are just solid. The amiibo support is cool though.

This game like the other Mario Party games are meant to be played with a group of people the more the better. I don't like how you have to land on a space that allows the mini game to start. In others I liked that they would start after around of game play. In all the game is worth buying if you are always going to have 3-4 people playing. If you don't I suggest you pass on this game.

Its a fun game all in all. The new modes are worth trying out and Amiibo support is worth the cost of investment. It doesn't turn anything on its side of innovate a whole lot outside of the gamepad play, but it feels like there wasn't enough of that thought put into it. Its great fun in a group. Recommend a buy only if you'll have friends handy to play it often, otherwise its a pass.

The game is very good. I'm not sure it's better than the previous versions though. They took out mini games in between each round and put everyone in a car on the same space. I think they did this so our kids won't be sitting and playing this game for 3 hours. The game plays much faster now and the bowser party is as much fun as I've ever had playing this game.

Mario Party 10 is a pretty good game that does not lack the charm and character that Nintendo always brings. This installment takes more of a linear spin the the franchise, but will still challenge advanced players. The Amiibo that is included is a great enhancement and looks awesome.

If you like digital board games and Mario & co., then this one's a no brainer. Very similar to Wii Party U, except with Mario. Good graphics and some fun minigames and extras. Also works with an entire line of amiibos. This mode is somewhat tedious though as you must physically pick up the toys and touch them to the gamepad NFC sensor.

I was one of those few people who thought that Mario Party 9 was okay. It wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't on the same level as the previous titles in the franchise. I was a little skeptical about 10 closer to release, but as the title says I was pleasantly surprised. The games go by very quickly so you aren't stuck there for a long time. The maps look much more lively than 9's maps, and the implementation of the amiibo figures are great! Plus the music is pretty sweet as well. Bowser Party is DEFINITELY the best new feature of the game, so much fun and stupidity! There are quite a few problems however. There are almost no maps that come with the game to begin with, only about 5. Even then, with Bowser Party there's only 3 or 4 of those maps available. Character selection, like Mario Kart 8, is strange (Spike, really?). Overall, if you like party games with friends, pick it up!

It's a Great game when played with others. Looks great and the mini games are fun. Wish it had online play though. It isn't as fun playing against the computer. If you liked Mario party 9, this game is better. Amiibo game is a nice twist, as is Bowser mode. My son really enjoys playing this game

The Mario Party franchise games have always been about fun with a group and the same goes with 10. We enjoy the addition of the amiibo to the mix though. It would be a great game for on-line play though as it would give more opportunities to play. Not too much of a solo game.

I purchased this game despite all of the negative reviews about the reduced frequency of playing mini-games on the boards. On the contrary, the kids and I are frequently in mini-games. Amiibo mode is just like classic Mario Party as well. Bowser Party is an awesome twist to the series. Don't let reviews from game sites dissuade you from picking up this title if you're a Mario Party fan

I'll start off with the good. It's fun overall. Mini games make the game as it's the best part. Amiibo Mode is fun (when you have the right pieces). Now the bad The main game mode places all characters in the same car and this really takes away from the board game aspect of the game. The choice of board movement is taken away with this. There is very little independent decision making. Not compatible with all Amiibos. At the very least most amiibos should have their own stylized boards. (there are all the same shape but have different backgrounds. Another gri[p is the different boards for Amiibos are all the same. Even with the bad this game is decent and fun. So overall despite me bashing the game is Average.

First and foremost, my complaint is mainly how the game forces you to travel together in a bunch rather than move individually. That was the whole point of the previous games and it felt much more like a competition. The bowser battle is unnecessary and only promotes more fighting among players. I haven't tried the Amiibo party yet because I'm not sure if I want to unbox my Mario and start down the slippery slope of Amiibo collecting. But it's my hope that that version will bring back the individual-based vs play of the past games. I do like how they categorize the mini games based on the skills required (memory, luck, dexterity, etc) although it seems the mini games bounce between point and click and sideways jump and move. I missed the shaking and tilting games. Overall, still fun, but missing a lot of what gave the other games their replayability.

Mario Party 10 is a great game in general, especially if you haven't played any of the ones prior to this one. Sadly, if you are looking for those old Mario Party 1-8 feels, I am sorry. This one makes you work with your team instead of against. (Semi-similar to Mario Party 9). If you are new to the game, need to pass a half hour, or have a few friends you want to play with for a fun game. This is certainly worth picking up. Sadly, mini-games aren't what they used to be, and some turns won't even include mini-game. The star system is a bit "nerfed" and the levels seem so much shorter than the original "game board" lengths of prior games. I am very happy to have purchased this, but unless you want to put time into training an Amiibo, you should check your local retro game shop to see if they have Mario Party 8 or before in stock. :)

I bought this game because I have kids that love playing board games. I thought this would be a great idea instead of having a board games with cards and pieces all over the place. The kids love it! They each pick an Amiibo as a player piece and take turns playing the mini games. Definitely worth picking up and playing with the family.
