10 out of 10. Fun strategy missions, funny loveable characters. They were going with the whole Mario galaxy vibe and it worked. Lot's to explore with hidden secrets everywhere. If you are a fan of kingdom battle or X-Com games. This is a must buy.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a super fun and surprisingly strategic mashup where Mario and friends team up with their goofy Rabbid counterparts to save the galaxy. You go planet-hopping, battling weird enemies in turn-based combat that feels way more flexible and fast-paced than the first game. You can run around during your turn, use cool abilities, and team up with little star-creatures called Sparks that give you extra powers. It’s colorful, silly, and way deeper than it looks—perfect if you want something lighthearted but still want to flex your brain a bit.

A step back from the previous installment, Sparks of Hope does away with linear progression, which was actually better for this type of game. Wandering around trying to find stuff was such a huge waste of time, imo. Character specific battles are no different than a regular battle with your preferred team, and is way less fun than battle requirements from the first game (Beating a level or "reach area" under restricted turns, etc) I can't even remember any music from the game, the game is super easy even on the hardest setting. There are improvements for sure, however, it's not enough to best the amazing Kingdom Battle.

A fun and worthy sequel to the incredible Kingdom Battle game. Pros: A little longer than the first at 55-60 hours to complete 100% of tasks (if it lets you.) Replaces the original's grid-based mechanics with a circular distance mechanism. The game is still based on a grid, but allows characters a bit more freedom of movement and shows distances in a circle surrounding the character to give a greater sense of realism. Cons: Even less attached to the Mario series than the first game: Mario & Company could just as easily be replaced by more Rabbids with little loss to story. A rearrangement of the techniques used by characters in the first game makes some much more useful than others (particularly Rabbid Peach and Luigi.) No undo system this time, and once a jump or landing is performed (even if by accident) you are committed and a mistake can leave your character wide open to attack. The game also has a huge amount of bugs: both graphical, with lots of pop-in and plane shearing, and functional, with characters getting infinitely stuck alternating between two grid squares, the game randomly crashing after a targeted enemy is defeated (especially in the final battle), and one of the quests does not register as completed no matter how many times you do it. For a game that took many extra months of development and is now 3+ weeks from release without resolution, such bugs do not reflect well on Ubisoft or the latest version of the Snowdrop engine. Were it not for such obvious defects it would be worthy of a perfect score. Some have also complained that the Rabbids are now voiced (short two or three word fragments mostly) and have dialogue, but I didn't mind. It's explained in-game as improvements in Beep-Os translation system that has occurred since the events of Kingdom Battle. Cosmic Edition includes both the Megabug weapon skin pack and the Galactic weapon skin pack, which is otherwise available as part of the Season Pass DLC.

A new wacky adventure with Mario & Rabbids!

Mario & Rabbids return in another wacky tactical adventure. But is this better than the first one? Story Mario & Rabbids are having a wonderful day in the Mushroom Kingdom when a bunch of Lumas or rabbid Lumas called Sparks landed on the kingdom who need help save the galaxy from the evil Cursa. It’s up to Mario, Luigi Peach and the Rabbids to save the galaxy and defeat Cursa. Gameplay Like the first Mario & Rabbids game, you control Mario and the gang through different worlds filled with strange and imaginative objects solving puzzles and battle enemies using tactical strategies using the characters’ array of weapons and skills. Throughout the story, you come across missions from Rabbids or puzzles to solve to unlock Sparks that give Mario and the gang different skills such as Fire, shock, ice, etc, coins to purchase useful items to help win battles and Star bits to power up Sparks, and skill points to unlock new moves for the characters. Also, if players are new to this, there’s a difficult setting so they can enjoy playing the game or enjoy the story and if players make a mistake in a battle, they can restart anytime they want. Presentation Like the first Mario & Rabbids game, Sparks of Hope has lots of exploitation and many puzzles and battles to experience in order to get 100%. The music by Grant Kirkhope, Yoko Shimomura and Gareth Coker is amazing to listen, and more DLC coming in the near future. Mario & Rabbids Sparks of Hope brings out the imagination to both Mario and Rabbids universe. With amazing gameplay, good story, and great presentation for Mario fans can get to. While it’s short, Sparks of Hope has lots of new things to explore.

I bought this for my son and I dismissed this game at first because I'm personally not fond of the rabbids. But I was wrong. My son asked for my help on some levels and while I was playing I actually realized how fun this game was. Me and my son both play this game now and I would recommend it to most people, especially if you like strategy games.

My kids said it was an improvement over the first and the first game was great, so naturally this deserves 5 star lol. The mechanics are smoother and world travel is a lot better. If one is into strategy games, can’t really go wrong with this one.

Product came on time, was on sale for a great price. The game was purchased for one of my kiddos. She adored it but blazed through it. I recently started it and do not feel the same "WOW" factor as the original, but the same fun strategic gameplay has been updated and is worth a go for the fans of the newly started series.

This sequel is MUCH more up my alley than the first Mario + Rabbids game was. In some ways, Sparks of Hope reminds me of Super Mario Odyssey in that there are NPC Rabbids in towns and they often have side quests for you to do. The voice acting is a really nice touch, and the charm given to all of the characters is very endearing. This is a new favorite Switch game of mine, and that’s coming from someone who does not enjoy turn-based combat in games (except Pokémon) at all! Really vibrant and brilliantly crafted.

The sequel to the original bests every single part of it, no joke! The quality is here, the gameplay is fierce, and I cannot think of any other rhymes.. For $15 on Black Friday, this is a steal of a deal!
