Great accurate earphones, especially for metal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will never forget the day that I took my fiddle and plugged it into my roommate's Marshall Amp. It made sounds that I didn't even know existed. On that day, I fell in love with Marshall. When I saw earphones from Marshall, I just had to see if they are anything like their amps. The answer? First Impression: My first impression was typical of Marshall. Everything was packaged very nicely. The earphone holder doubles as a charging station like many others. The earphones sit in there very nicely and securely. The lid is easy to open and stays closed. And for that special touch, the cover is made of the same material (simulated maybe?) as their amps. Looking at it looks Marshall all the way. The App is solid and offers adjustments for sound, Automatic Noise Cancellation (ANC) Transparency (TRA), Equalization, and touch controls. Performance: To test these, I used my Samsung S22 Ultra phone with Apple Music as the source. I hit on most genres of music including bluegrass, freak folk, jazz, and classical piano. But most of my review centered around rock and metal, because after all, what says metal like Marshall. *** Note *** - If you do not select ANC or TRA, it defaults these features to off. You need to turn on one or the other, otherwise the music sounds flat. For me the best sound came with ANC selected, with TRA being a close second. Off didn't sound that good to me. When listening to most non-rock genres, the music was clean, clear, and accurate. By accuracy, I mean it sounds like it does with other sources such as vinyl and CDs without any enhancement. I personally like enhancement, but I prefer accuracy first, and then I will tweak it to match my preferences. It is far easier to enhance music than to produce it accurately, and Marshall did a great job producing accurate music with such small earphones. For metal I hit across 70's, 80's, 90's and current metal. Some of the artists I listened to was Suicidal Tendencies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthrax, Faith No More, Social D, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, Jimmy Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Iron Butterfly, The White Stripes, Metallica, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Rush, Led Zeppelin, The Offspring, Drowning Pool, Cradle of Filth, The Vandals, Kiss, Bad Religion, JFA, Isocracy, and many others. I put hours of metal through these to see just how they sounded with a variety of metal through many generations. Bottom line, all of the rock music sounded really good. It didn't have deep thumping bass like many earphones and cans do today. But that is a good thing, because the original rock from these generations did not have deep thumping bass. It had a tight and deep base, and that is exactly what these earphones reproduce. I easily put 100's of songs through these, and every song sounded great. As far as musical reproduction is concerned, these Marshall Motif A.N.C. earphones sounded awesome in the rock and metal category. One thing I noticed with these earphones is that I never got tired of listening to music through them. Some earphones and headphones will tire me after extended listening, usually because of certain enhancements in the sound. These Marshalls never tired my ears, even after hours of listening. The fit of these earphones paired really well in my ears. Most earphones fall out of my ears, even when keeping my head still. I don't know why, but it seems my ears don't like them. With the Marshall's, the right earbud worked great, and I had to change the left earbud for the larger size. After that, they stayed in for hours without falling out. And I really liked the knurled posts, they made it easy to handle the earphones. Now for my only complaint. The equalizer (Equaliser in the app) offers 3 presets. The first is the original Marshall sound and not changeable. The second and third allow you to select presets. For me, preset two was set to Rock, and preset three was set to Hip-Hop. My problem is that none of the presets are customizable, nor do they offer a custom preset to tweak it to your liking. If they offered a custom preset, I would easily rate these a 5. But to me, this is an important feature that most today offer. If they add this in a future update, rest assured my rating will be a solid 5 out of 5. Conclusion: I have quite a few sets of cans (headphones). Each one is the best I have for a specific genre of music, and when switching genres, I will often change headphones. But I only have 1 set of earphones that I use. It is great for easy genres like jazz, easy listening, classical, etc. For rock and metal, they are shallow and easily distort. Metallica’s Master of Puppets destroyed those earphones, but the Marshall’s played them loud and strong, and sounded just like they sound on other systems and in concert. I am very happy to now have the Marshall Motif A.N.C. earphones as my absolute favorite set for rock and metal. I have listened to and reviewed many earphone sets, but none of them sound as good as the Marshall Motif A.N.C earphones for rock and Metal. I highly recommend these earphones.

Very Nice Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall – Motif A.N.C. True Wireless Headphones are very nice, and it was an easy and Quick Setup, I was already using the Marshall app. Not as responsive as I would prefer, takes multiple taps, occasionally, to activate adjustments or respond to a phone call. Sound quality is very good, you must be sure to use the correct ear pads to ensure a quality sound and for the ANC to function best. I found the ANC to be as functional as other quality headphone that I use. Callers said it sounded as if I was in a barrel at times or a latency with my end of the conversation. I believe this may have been an issue on their side or with the phones in general not the Marshall headphones. Find the correct earpiece, of the three sizes that come with the headphones and I believe you will find them very comfortable. I used them for approximately 4 hours the first time and there was no discomfort. Using the Marshall Bluetooth app, you have, ANC (active noise canceling), OFF, and TRA (transparency). Using the vacuum with the ANC active muffled the vacuum’s sound and the music was clear and crisp with great unmuffled base. Using the vacuum in the OFF mode the music was tinny and lacked base. Using the vacuum with the TRA activated enhanced the sound of the vacuum and sounds as if the music is in the background. Pros Good crisp sound with solid base. No distinguishable distortion to me. Compact Stylish leather look case Very comfortable, for hours. Good fit. Can be used independently. Great battery life and the ability to charge on the run multiple times. Cons No volume control in the earpieces, you will have to adjust the volume using your connected music source. Lack sensitivity regarding the touch controls. Caller alleged a “in the barrel sound” to Latency at times, again I believe this to be a phone company issue. It seems lately we are all having slight issues during phone calls and it appears not to be one specific company. Not sure I understand the “Active Transparency mode” feature. I don’t notice any change when I turned it on or off. The Marshall app’s noise control feature – I could not hear any distinguishable difference standing close to a water fountain. Both ANC and Transparency controls operate from 10% to 100% in 10s increments. Adjusting either of these from 10 to 100 did not change the volume or sound of the water fountain. The Marshall app has three different equalizers, 1 being Marshall’s setting, 2 allows you to choose from a variety of presets such as, Marshall, Rock, Spoken, Pop, Hip-Hop, or Electronic. 3 give you the same options. You can set 2 or 3 to different settings and then via tapping an earpiece you can change between 1, 2, or 3. Nice feature with notable changes in sound quality and the ability to select your preference for listening. You have the option of setting the left or right earpieces to, Noise control, Equalizer, Default voice assistant, or Do Nothing. There are some controls that I have not figured out their operation. Seems some of the app controls are redundant and this was confusing to me.

Simply Superb!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having 2 other in ear wireless headphones of the same price range to compare to, I have found these Marshall Motif ANC ones to be the most comfortable as well as the most capable. I have had these earbuds now for 5 days and have had the opportunity to use them in various settings - from biking and running to use in an airport/airplane trip. These are by far the best sounding headphones in this category I have had. The product comes packaged with elite level packaging and contains the headphones, the charging case, the user manual and the extra 2 sizes of tips. I found that the already attached medium size was perfect. The charging case has a small footprint and indeed charges the buds quickly and does indeed provide the 20 hours of charge. Be mindful that it will be less if the active noise cancelling mode is on all the time. Connecting to my phone and app was as easy as a Bluetooth device should be and immediately upon connection to the app, the buds received a firmware update that went smoothly. Within the app you can change the EQ settings and various other settings for the buds. One complaint I have with the app is that there are only a handful of preset EQ settings (6) but no way to dial in a custom EQ and save that as a preference. Seems like an easy in app solution and as everyone's listening preferences are different, I am surprised that such a great product does not have this feature. The comfort of these is the best I have had in any of the headphones I have owned. On my recent flight, I pretty much had these in for 4 hours straight and felt no ear fatigue or discomfort. The sound of these is simply stellar for such a product! Sound is such a personal issue for us all and I found that my favorite music pieces sounded perfect with these buds. All in all, Marshall has a winner here! Two small changes would make these perfect - First, add a custom EQ setting in the app so a user can dial in their exact preference and second, be able to control the volume from the earbuds. You won't regret this purchase!

Awsome Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motuf Active Noise Cancelling earbuds. Marshall has another winner to add to their Bluetooth lineup. Everything, from the outer packaging to the storage case to the actual earbuds speaks of quality. Well made, appear to be quite durable and should provide years of listening pleasure. Fit is secure without feeling like you have to cram them into your ear canal to get them to stay put. The three sizes of ear tips included make it easy to customise to your liking. Functionality, control and customization of sounds and features all revolve around Marshall's App. The same App is used for many of Marshall's Bluetooth products so if you already have one of their Blutooth speakers or Active Noise Cancelling over-the-ear headphones you are quickly up and running. Quite a few options are available to the user from the Home menu. Three modes, Active Noise Cancellation On or Off and a "Transparency Mode" which seems to me, identical to Noise Cancellation Off. Bass response is especially reduced when ANC is off. Equaliser options include Marshall, Rock, Spoken, Pop, Hip-Hop and Electronic. Unfortunately, manual adjustment of the five frequencies is not available. Touch control for option selection can be enabled/disabled and noise cancellation amount can be adjusted to suit your surroundings. An Eco charging option allows for extened lifespan by reducing earbud maximum charge to 80% and finally, the option to turn audio notifications on or off. One option that is missing is the ability to adjust volume balance between left and right buds. Marshall has developed an impressive set of feature-packed earbuds that I can enthusiastically recommend..

I Love These Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are awesome. First, I love the way they charge. You can go ahead and plug the case in like just about every wireless earbuds out there, or you can just put your case on a wireless charger. I know there are others out there that do this, but this is the first that I’ve owned and the convenience is great. I was a little annoyed that you can’t sync the earbuds up without downloading the app. I think its just tedious and makes it more annoying to try and use the earbuds with another device. That being said, the actual process is really smooth and easy. I was a little disappointed that with the ANC and other features it isn’t always clear what setting you’re on without looking at the app and I’d like it to be a little more user friendly for when you don’t want to pull your phone out of your pocket. All the sound comes through clearly and they actually have pretty good connection to my phone and I could listen to my music while mowing my whole lawn but leave my phone on our patio table. It only really got fuzzy or started to stutter at the very far end of my back yard. Admittedly it didn’t reach the front yard, but who can expect Bluetooth to go through a house? It took me a bit to find if it was water proof / resistant. It has some, and I’m not worried about sweat or getting caught in the rain. But at this price I’ll probably be a little hesitant to use it at the beach or pool where my kids may surprise me with a bucket of water. They are solid and well built, the case and headphones look sleek and stylish. It comes with different size earbud plugs so you can pick a size that is best for you. I use the smallest and it fits comfortably with no aching after an extended period of time and it still holds solidly in my ear. I did notice that the noise cancellation worked pretty well but I did have a little noise that I think was from sound coming around the buds. I probably could have used a bigger size and still been relatively comfortable, but I still wouldn’t consider these a replacement for true ear protection if you were thinking of using these on a loud worksight. Overall these are really nice earbuds that I would be more than happy to recommend if you can afford the slightly higher price. But in the end you get what you pay for and they are well worth it.

Excellent sound, ANC works well.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Motif A.N.C. Truewireless earbuds are really, really, good earbuds....with just a couple of small gripes. First, what's good. Setup, like with most bluetooth devices nowadays was simple. Once I downloaded the app an update was found and a few minutes were required to install it. Speaking of the app, it's pretty basic and simple to use, giving you access to all the features you need, like ANC and EQ. You can also customize the touch controls. The sound is incredibly clear and crisp right out of the box. I didn't find it necessary to use the EQ because the default was spot on for me. Marshall nailed the bass, as well. There's enough that you definitely know it's there without being obnoxious. Love it. Also, wireless charging is a plus. Now, for the niggles. When you load the app it takes a prolonged period of time to find the earbuds. Also, when you change from transparency mode to ANC there is a volume increase. It's not a lot, but if you listen to your music at the limit, a little more volume could be a problem. But that's an easy fix through firmware, so I'm sure Marshall will fix it. Lastly, I'm not sure what you call them, but the bars that slide into that slot in front of the earlobes is knurled. That makes is easy to grip and you're less likely to drop them. That's a good thing. But after a while they start to rub and my ears get a little sore. Any issues with these earbuds are far outweighed by the sound quality and build quality. They sound amazing and are mostly comfortable (see niggles above). I have absolutely no regrets about getting these and I can't imagine you would either!
