We had the Samsung 750 sound bar, it started having issues. The sound would cut in and out after 2-3 hours of continuous use so we took it back to our local best buy store. Good thing i purchased the Geek Squad Protection on it they were able to do a in store fulfillment and we were able to upgrade! My husband was looking at the Sony HTST7 but then the home theater sales person showed us a couple of Magnolia products. I am glad that he did! we might have wasted that much money the Sony. It came down to 2 products, this Martin Logan and the Definitive Technology W Sudio. The only upside of the Definitive Technology is that it is capable of wireless technology like SONOS. Having the 5.1 speakers is amazing. Totally worth the money!! We love this product! We are very glad that we picked this one.

Let me preface by stating if I could give half stars I would give it a 4.5.
We purchased a 4K tv to only realize our Bose 135 system wouldn't allow 4K pass through. We came across this MartinLogan Vision during a Deal of the Day special and went to two Best Buys to listen to it and talk to the staff for their input. After listening to the demos and getting the suggestions, we thought would give it a shot. Installation was pretty straight forward but if you want more clear directions on how to change settings go to MartinLogan's websiite.
We thought our Bose sounded real good, but the sound from the MartinLogan put the Bose to shame. We tried a few different movies from Cars to Jurassic World and as many times as we've seen those movies there were some sounds I picked up I didn't hear before. Music was excellent as well. What impressed me and my wife was the amount of bass it produced despite not having an external subwoofer. Not enough to make things shake but still enough to feel it.
The one knock I will give on the unit is it does not connect very well to the Logitech Harmony Elite remote. Either it doesn't register when you hit the volume and if it does you have to hit the volume button each time...you just can't simply hold the button down. At first I thought it was me but after doing some research it is apparently a known issue.
Overall this is a great unit for the price....just hope you don't have a Logitech Harmony remote.

If you asked me if I would of bought a soundbar at this price a year ago I would of told you that you were crazy for even asking. I was honestly in the market for a receiver and some speakers to compliment my new TV I purchased, but I live in a small apartment and was not sure how to make it work. When the magnolia salesperson showed me this, cranked it up, and just stood there while I listened I fell instantly in love.
I had to go home and think on it, and I could not shake it from my mind. I needed something that would be small enough to fit in my stand, but yet pack the same punch that I was looking for. I went back a few days later and bought it. The first thing I did after installing it, which took maybe 5 mins, was pop in Forza 3 on the Xbox One. It sounded like a fully loaded system with a sub, but except it all came from the soundbar.
I recommend this for any audiophile who does not have a lot of room, but wants a full sound. It is pricey, but worth every cent. The only complaint is the remote control is tiny and not what I would expect from a $1,499.00 soundbar, lucky enough it has a learning system for aftermarket remotes.

I’ve had this now for over a year. Its on every day. My family streams music through Apple TV, listens to DirecTV programs and Blue-ray discs (old fashion in some ways there I know). Can't imagine something better for a sound bar application (do have a Zvox 5XX which sounds super thin in comparison despite its awards). Overall sound stage on the ML is deep, there is plenty of punch to the lows (originally connected a ML 700 Sub but didn’t find necessary), and highs are new blacktop smooth. To me its not about making TV/Music loud, although the system is capable, its about hearing the full set of information either from a music track, or what is happening on the screen. This does enrich both music and tv watching experiences. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I absolutely love this soundbar, as I love martin logan speakers in general. The sound is crisp and clear, and provides enough bass for my small family room. It sounds just like i'm in a movie theater. Music sound phenomenal but I found it annoying that there was no bluetooth or aux port to at least plug in directly or a chromecast audio. So I decided to use a chromecast and plug it directly into my tv so that I could get my music to play through the soundbar. Also the remote is very cheap and programming the soundbar to my remote took a bit of time but I was able to get it done. Overall it can be a hassle to set up but the quality of the sound makes up for it. I love seeing that gorgeous martin logan blue in my living room.

My new 60" plasma has an excellent display but predictably poor audio from its built-in speakers. For serious listening and blu-ray watching, I use my home theater system which includes Martin Logan SL3s, a Logos center channel, and Vignettes for surrounds but for normal TV watching I need a sound bar that won't offend my all too sophisticated ears and one that turns on and off with the TV and cable box so my wife can enjoy the TV when I'm not home.
The Motion Vision is the sixth sound bar in just a few months that I have had in my system. Several factors separate it from the others I've auditioned, three of these sound bars included wireless subwoofers...they had some ill defined bass which seemed distant from thin sound emanating from the bars. The large flat wooden Zvox was highly touted by home theater and audiophile mags, it was my biggest disappointment.
The Vision is a 5.1 sound bar...it has a dedicated center speaker which separates the dialog from the background and soundtrack making the voices much easier to understand. Though this is a single piece design, there is considerable punch and definition in the bass and very smooth response all the way up the range. The Folded Motion tweeters aid in giving the Vision finesse in the higher frequencies...that characteristic Martin Logan airy and box-less sound that I enjoy from my electrostatics. As the individual components in the Vision break in with time, it sounds better and better.

ML Vision vs Bose Soundbar

Pros:
1)Sound is clean and full.
2)Remote is small and simple
Cons:
1)Its very heavy (20 pounds?). I wish they separated the sub from the bar but some people may like that aspect. Separating the subs may have also allowed for a more elegant design (like Bose)
2)Design is clunky and unattractive
3)Sound doesn't bounce off walls the way they do with the Bose soundbar.
4)Do not expect anything close to 5.1 surround. Perhaps 3.1 at best.
Explanation:
I purchased this soundbar with high expectations. The sound quality from this bar was excellent. Voices were clear and music was crisp. It has sufficient bass for me. I decided to return the MartinLogan for a Bose because I heard Bose in the store and it sounded amazing.
Once I setup the Bose I was impressed with its ability to throw sounds at you from all directions, but it was a very empty sound. It didnt have the entire depth and range as the MartinLogan. I now understand why people say "to the untrained ear" about Bose.
In other words, had I NOT tried the MartinLogan Vision, I would the Bose Soundbar was awesome.
--Long story short, I returned the MartinLogan because I desired at least 3.1 surround sound.
--I returned the Bose SR1 because I want clean, full sound
I am going to go with a true 5.1 solution. Still TBD.

The guy at Best Buy talked me into listening to this unit after I was considering the same priced Bose sound bar. I'm glad he did because this is much better. It does not come with a sub woofer so I was a skeptical. Turns out, it has better range than the Bose with even its acustamast woofer. I wish all the stores stocked it, but only Magnolia stores carry it in store while stores without magnolia can order it. It took 4 days for it to come in. Worth the wait and worth the money!

This soundbar truly is a work of art. I am impressed by the remarkable level of accuracy and clarity. It is powerful and easy to set up. I have been listening to music and watching movies. I recommend the MartinLogan subwoofer dynamo series to go with this product.

This soundbar is not what I expected! The sound was not crisp as I had hope. The sound seem to a little distorted by the power which encompasses. It has strong bass on it's own but the sales personal recommended that I purchase Dynamo 1000W to help with the surround sound effect. Overall, this soundbar was overpriced, and didn't meet my audio needs.
