    Questionable Value

I'm very disappointed with this product. I recently purchased the Vision X to replace my receiver and 3 speaker set up (L, R, Center). I wanted a product that would work seamlessly with my Apple TV and Fios cable. Unfortunately, the soudbar often looses the connection when switching between inputs (all going through the TV). Moreover, the user interface is poor. When it works, it's good. Unfortunately, the value is not there at this price point.

I previously purchased the motion vision soundbar 3 weeks before the motion vision x came out. The vision is a great soundbar but the motion vision x is a AWSOME soundbar. Even at low volume it delivers highs and midds that are extremely crisp! It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for! I'm happy with the price and the soundbar! Way to go Martin Logan!!!

DON'T BUY IF NOT PREPARED FOR DIFFICULT SETUP

DIFFICULT to set up without WPS router. Play-fi difficult to set up without wireless. In IT for 25 years. Degree in networking. Lots of reasons for this to be easy for me. Instead, setting this up was a wild goose chase and I hate Martin Logan for making it so stupidly difficult. Without WPS there are no instructions for setting up WiFi. Except as ACCESS POINT. Which doesn't work for a wireless/ streaming connection. Finally used ethernet. Play-fi asked to set up a WIRELESS device. Finally got that figured out. Setting this up is an enormous pain in the neck. After that, it sounds pretty good. MUCH better than my BlueSound soundbar.

Exactly what I was looking for

This Martin Logan Vision X soundbar is exactly what I was looking for in my large living room. I was looking for a soundbar to fill the 20’x20’x20’ room and this is the soundbar to do that. I got a decent price and feel the sound is crystal clear. Voices come through loud and clear, while the low levels are quite good, since I don’t have a sub hooked up to it right now. I demoed Top Gun and cranked it up... had to back the volume down it was so loud! There is a bit of signal lag when changing channels, but nothing as bothersome as some others made it seem. I am very pleased and glad we went big!

    Oh my.

First off, the sound is great. I don't think I've heard better. But, the digital inputs have issues. There is a delay and you lose the first second or two of music tracks or if you have a DVR, when you FF and hit play, you miss the next work or two. This is not an issue if you use the analog (stereo) inputs. I am seriously considering doing just that - at least for the TV cable box. But in all likelihood, I'll return it and get a Yamaha. I'll give it a day or two.

This is my third Martin Logan product, having previously owned the Non-Play-Fi compatible version of this same product before. I hated having to turn my whole home theater system on to use my Apple TV for AirPlay so I upgraded to the newer version to be able to stream directly to the sound bar. When it works, the audio sounds great! Very clear vocals and a very diverse, well-balanced sound stage. When it's not working, I dread dealing with Best Buy and/or Martin Logan. The remote randomly stopped working and you couldn't control the sound bar at all. I was within my return policy for the item but the Magnolia Design Center insisted on keeping it for a few days to see if they could replicate the issue before they allowed me to exchange it. They were unable to and the return policy window lapsed so they gave it back to me (and now all of a sudden I'm having the same issues again). I really don't want to reach out to Martin Logan because they have you pay the shipping out to them to get items repaired and on an item like this (that I no longer have a box for) - it's easily going to be upwards of $100. I had to go thru this when my sub was making weird noises and they determined from my description that it had a defective board inside of it. Play-Fi is no longer working and updates constantly fail. When trying to stream music, it shows it's playing in the Play-FI app but you hear no audio and sometimes the Play-Fi app shows my device twice and one instance fails to connect, almost instantly, the other connects just fine you just don't hear anything (and yes this is after un-pairing and repairing everything and doing the software update that took 2 hours to complete after it constantly kept failing because the sound bar could not be found). For the price you pay, you'd expect better quality control. I came from a Sonos system at the advice of the Magnolia Design Center staff and I really wish I hadn't have listened to them because the Sonos system worked flawlessly and I never had any hardware issues with it - ever!

My purchase was primarily for movies and I gotta say this soundbar was a real let down. Well built with a nice piano black finish but the weight is way too heavy and the sound was overall flat. I wanted to like this soundbar but there is no separation which just made the movie going experience dull and boring. Kinda like going from 4K to laser disc.
