Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is the latest fighting game in a long-running series from Capcom. Featuring a roster of fighters from the popular video game developer and the celebrated comic publisher, MvC:I seeks to reclaim the glory of past iterations. Unfortunately, the resulting product falls a bit short of its lofty aspirations.
I purchased Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite to play with my nephew, who loved the limited demo that Capcom made available over the summer. He loves the game and its mash-up of characters like Spider-man, Hulk, Thor, Mega Man, Ryu, and Dante. The game ships with a base roster of 30 characters, but there are several notable omissions from both sides (Capcom and Marvel). There are already six additional characters confirmed as paid downloadable content, with more rumored to be on the way. The roster is decent, but I really miss many characters that appeared in previous games, such as Captain Commando, Jin Saotome, Akuma, Doctor Doom, Wolverine, and Deadpool. The game's presentation leaves a bit to be desired. The graphics aren't awful, but they aren't as good as other fighters on the market (Injustice 2). Some of the characters are incredibly bland compared to others on the very same roster. The DLC characters look great from what I've seen, but you have to pay extra to use those (they are free to those who purchase the Deluxe Edition).
Where the game really shines is in its gameplay. Capcom has crafted another great fighting game and really refined the system to make the two-on-two gameplay feel deep, but also accessible. The addition of the Infinity Stones/Gems is notable, as it adds a great mechanic to the game while replacing a third or assist character. I've seen many a match turn on the proper use of the Infinity Stones. The only negative to the gameplay is that I would have liked to have seen the addition of a mode allowing two players to fight on the same team against the computer. This was present back in 1999 with Marvel vs Capcom on the Sega Dreamcast!
Overall, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a decent game. It could have been so much more. I would recommend caution when buying this game, especially in its current state. Maybe we'll see an "ultimate" edition down the road.

At first, I thought this game was gonna suck but it's actually not that bad despite the graphical design. Gameplay-wise, it's much better than what Capcom had done with Street Fighter V and has better netcode as well. Despite the questionable roster, reducing the teams from 3 to 2 is a good move along with making the Infinity Gems a good mechanic compared to the Gems from Street Fighter X Tekken.

Yes, that's right Is some of Marvel versus Capcom The game is missing all of the X men characters This will be the equivalent of the Cavaliers playing the Spurs and LeBron James not playing. The game also goes from 3 on 3 to 2 on 2 gameplay versus the previous version. Which game is taken away X-factor and Now has several stones called Infinity stones which shift the balance of the match depending on which one you get. Is the game fun yes.Is it easy to play yes. Is it a competitive fighter no Because there are too many characters that are cheap. Because of the deeper roster and lower price I would recommend UMVC3 instead at least until this drops in price or releases an Ultimate MVC Infinite.

Really enjoy the gameplay aspects of this game, however it shows some faults in visuals and lacking character roster. Overall I am still enjoying the game, as it pays very similar to prior games, and is even easier for new players to pick up and play

The graphics and cinematics are great in this as most titles get upgraded in any series. The controls are a little clunky compared to say MVC2 but I'm hoping that future updates will fix this. Still a fun game to just pick up and play.

I really enjoy this game. It still gives me the arcade feel of when I used to play it as a child. I do wish that there were more characters in this game to choose from though.

Great graphics and fun to play. Good addiction to the marvel vs capcom series. You can only change between 2 characters during fights as opposed to 3 in previous ones.

I find this game a bit more friendly to newcomers, but also deep for long time fans of the series. The art style is...weird as it tries to go the realistic route. That's likely due to this following the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, which means there are no X-Men or Deadpool - very strange for there to be no Wolverine. Overall, try the demo, or potentially consider waiting for the Ultimate version with more DLC characters, or buy it if you're a fan of the series.

Let's address the elephant. The graphics are not on par with other fighting games. However, if you can look past that rough surface, you find a fast paced and fun gameplay. Game definitely feels like a VS game, with all the crazy mechanics you expect from the series.
The DLC chatacters are a double-edged sword. The 3 currently out are more polished than pretty much the entire release roster, but you will need to cough up a bit extra to buy them.

I was so excited when I heard about this game. I've been a huge fan of the game in the past, but was upset when I found out that there were no X-Men in the game. I'm sure this has to do with the licensing/rights dispute between Fox and Disney. If only they could come to some sort of agreement so that Disney could take over and actually produce decent movies.

I really enjoy playing this game. The graphics are not as bad as people say. I agree that some of the chracters do look better than others. However, that does not have any impact on the gameplay. Online is smooth. The net code is pretty good. Overall the game is super fun to play if you are a fan of the series.

When it comes to the most important aspect of the a video game, game play, its actually a pretty fun. It easy to pick up and satisfying enough to play for a few months at least. Unfortunately, the roster is definitely disappointing. There are 0 X-Men or Fantastic Four characters and many of the coolest characters are buried behind a DLC pay wall(black widow, venom, monster hunter) that will be sprinkled in the next couple of months. The story mode is a waste of time also. You'll get the most fun out of the game if you are willing to put in time on learning combos and strategies in training mode and applying them in online battles. I recommend waiting for a price drop though.

I like the previous version of Marvel vs Capcom better, it is lack of character selection and change from 3 vs 3 in a team to 2 vs 2. It is a good game overall, the fighting still is still remain the same as the previous game.

I have been waiting for this game every since it was announced, and it was worth the wait. Many characters, with more to be released with DLC and add-ons presumably, and the great gameplay that comes from a Capcom game. They even added the story mode that everyone raved about in InJustice. All-in-All a great game.
