This is the best Spider-Man game and easily my favorite super hero game. Not only is the web slinging incredibly fun (it constantly made me resist any fast travel) but the combat is fast and the story is the best this character and his world have had, ever. A must buy for fans of the character and super heroes.

few games can blend everything from the source material, original writing/story and gameplay together seamlessly, Spider-Man from Insomniac games however is one of them. Brilliant story telling, beautiful graphics and a fun and fluid combat, all mixed with the best web slinging travel mechanics you could hope for.

The combat is the best I've experienced ever. I see people have complained about the camera being a little weird at times and I agree. But once you get the camera down and get comfortable with the combat it's extremely deep, satisfying and fun. The story and writing is great too. Had me chuckling throughout.

We've had some mediocre Spider-Man games throughout the years but Marvel's Spider-Man is an absolute thrill. The incredible boss fights, open world, and the story give many reasons to perfect the game. The crimes and optional objectives can become repetitive but the overall experience is an absolute thrill.

Not only an fantastic spiderman game, but a fantastic open world game in general. From the voice acting, to the story to the visuals to the physics based swinging and Arkham style combat, this game makes you feel like Spiderman. However, the side missions are limited in design and can get a bit repetitive.

I’m not a Spider-Man fan, or even a super hero fan. I picked this game up in hype/reviews. And me oh my, what a solid game, from controls, graphics, sound, story, the entire game is so fun and solid. I even went 100% in 4 days. (I played on a PS4 pro) Do not pass this game up, so much fun.

The combat is extremely well done, web slinging feels incredibly natural and is easy to do, making moving around the world simple. The story is presented incredibly well and feels real. Customization options are everywhere allowing you to tailor the game to the way you want it to be played.

I've been a lifelong fan of Spider-Man. I played many Spider-Man games but nothing comes close to this. This game is so well-crafted when it comes to Story characters animations combat abilities and variety. I'm a big fan of open world games so naturally I spend a lot of time in the beginning just swinging around getting good at being Spider-Man. Movement in this game is very easy to learn and once you learn all the tricks getting around New York is a breeze. If you are the type of person who doesn't like clearing Maps or traditional open world tasks then don't worry because the game does not force you to do very much that you don't want to. There are story beats where it tells you to just go around the city and upgrade your gear but doing even the smallest task will help you progress the story. Every punch that you throw and web that you shoot will get you XP so you can just play through on easy to enjoy this one before you can take your time and soaking everything the game has to offer.

This has to be the funnest game I've played all year. The Manhattan island has been recreated to perfection (plus some Marvel buildings) an Insomniac really nailed the web swinging mechanics. Tons of content to unlock and missions to complete. Great story. GOTY for me along with God if War

+ Web-swinging feels fantastic + The story is true to the spirit of the comics while not afraid to try new things + The combat is surprisingly involved + There's a lot to do & unlock + The visuals are on-point + The alternate costumes are great - Some missions are better than others (the Taskmaster drone missions are the low-point) - There aren't that many story-relevant side missions. - I wish that the main story was a bit longer, but it was generally well-paced. Overall: Spider-Man isn't perfect, but its flaws are few & far between. It's a great game as a whole that I'd highly recommend.

Without a doubt, Spider-Man (PS4) is the best Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2 on the PS2. Swinging around New York City is tons of fun, and the game tells an interesting story not only about Spider-Man, but about Peter Parker as well. If you own a PS4, get this game.

This is the best game out by far. I own all of the new games out (RDR2, farcry5, godofwar, monsterworld etc.) & Spiderman owns them all. Story is good, grpahics are amazing and the game controls are really good. Nice and smooth flying around the city makes this game #1.

What a perfect Spider-Man game. The story is engaging and well told, the combat and stealth take cues from the Arkham series but evolve them to fit Spider-Man better, and the open world is full of things that are all fun to do, something the Arkham series struggled with. Get it.

Visually stunning, solid controls with a fair learning curve. The story plot is great with tons of side missions to keep you occupied during story lulls. Absolutely thrilled i got it for half off, but it would have absolutely been worth it had i paid full price.

The new Spider-Man game for PS4 is a fresh take on a comic book hero on a video game platform. Usually games based on comics are sorely lacking in the story, or gameplay, or any number of facets of the game - that is not the case here. The game is sufficiently challenging to be fun and not a grind, while not being impossibly difficult either - and you can change the difficulty level, if need be. As the player, you are primarily controlling Peter Parker/Spider-Man throughout the game, playing out his life in the story, though at times, you also take control of one of a handful of other characters in the game. Other than the main story mode, there are a number of side quests and activities to keep you busy, and a convenient tracker of what is left for you to complete to finish the game to completion. While I was skeptical at first, I would highly recommend giving this game a try and deciding for yourself - I think you'll enjoy it.

No words can describe how amazing this game is. The story is beautiful, the graphics beautiful, everything is beautiful. I 100% recommend this game. Its very easy to pick up and learn the controls. My 4 year old neice was able to web swing all over New York, and fight.

This game is my favorite game of all the games I've played on PS4. It takes the power of the PS4 Pro and renders the city cleaner and clearer than my regular PS4 in HDR. The open world is absolutely the best part of this game. I've never played a spider man game this good, and I've played all the spider-man games on PS4, PS3, Xbox, PC, Gamecube, Wii U, N64, SNES, NES, PSP, PS Vita, and this one hands down is the best. Why? The realistic movement of the physics and the camera angles when swinging is just fantastic, and the controller mapping is perfect. You can play the short 10 hour or so story mode but the strength of this game is the open world and I've logged more than 200+ hours just going around the city. It reminds me a lot of GTA series but without all the violence and just super special moves that only Spider-man could pull off in getting the baddies.

The Spider-Man game I've always wanted. It takes the best from past Spider-Man games and other superhero games to make a masterpiece. Web swinging feels great, combat is engaging, and the story is full of twists, many fans will see coming, but some will surprise you.

We were long over due for a Spider-Man game. Simply put, this is a great game, and next to Monster Hunter World is my favorite PS4 game of the year. While it has only been out two and a half days, I have played about 15-20 hours and have just over half the game completed. It has such an interesting story that Marvel decided to pick up a comic series based off the game's plot which is actually an original idea, not something typically done in video game adaptations of superheros. The web-slinging is superb, combat can be challenging without being cheap, although it can be too easy at times, and the different costumes can keep it fresh. Just as importantly, the Peter Parker story is just as entertaining as Spider-Man's, the "normal person" persona being interesting is I would say game developers struggle with (exception being TellTale's Batman series). Anyway, buy this game if you like Spider-Man.
