I have to admit I haven't seen any of Downton Abbey yet, but I think that Poldark has to be one of the best shows on television right now. The first season was fantastic and I'm not disappointed at all with season 2. All of the show's returning characters continue to do a fine job, but I have to say that if Eleanor Tomlinson's performance as Demelza is not nominated for best actress catagories this award season, then the selection committee has no idea of what there doing! Also, for current viewers of the show on PBS, if you decide to buy either season on blu ray, you will be happy to know that there is a significant picture quality upgrade over the actual television broadcast. However, there are not enough extras on the discs, since PBS has already shown pre–season preview shows such as Inside Poldark and Poldark Revealed. How come these featurettes can't be included?

I bought this DVD in the store. A suggestion to Best Buy, there needs to be better organization in the DVD department. It's always difficult locating certain DVDs, and even the associates struggle when I've asked for help. Despite the above recommendation, if you haven't started watching the British period drama of 'Poldark' on PBS, you need to catch up! Love, betrayal, action, family, loyalty, and beautiful Cornwall England scenery all rolled into one! You will be wanting to watch more. I can't wait for Season III to air!

The adventures of Ross Poldark continue with Season 2 finding him in and out of hot water as he battles for his rights and the rights of the people of his village against the class struggle of 18th century English imperialism and the selfish goals and greed of those who want what is his. Lots of use of historical reference makes this series enjoyable to lovers of this type of costume drama. Great cast and book adaptation!

Did you enjoy Season One of Poldark as much as I did?! Then I'm sure you'll be delighted to hear it gets even better with this second season of this wonderfully romantic and delightful British series set in Cornwall at the closing of the 19th Century. Ross Poldark, played perfectly by Aidan Turner, takes us back in time in this historical romance novel set to film. Can't wait for the third season...

A POOR MINE OWNER TRY'S TO EMPLOY THE TOWNSPEOPLE IN THIS TALE OF ONE'S COURAGE. HE HAS TO FIGHT THE RICH FORCES THAT KEEP EVERYONE FROM MAKING A LIVABLE WAGE.THE RICH PROVIDE EVERY OBSTACLE TO STOP THIS AND TO CLOSE THE MINE. THE STORY WILL WANT YOU CRAVING FOR MORE.

I borrowed season 1 from my local library, but couldn't wait to find out what happened in season 2, and the TV season had just ended! I was overjoyed to be able to watch the season and I can't wait for season 3 to start! I dont know what I loved more the storyline or the images of the ocean.

This is the second season, 3-disc DVD set of a PBS serial show. It is a very well acted and enjoyable watch. I would like to recommend this to any family who enjoys English literature. It is reasonably priced. Best Buy is my "go to" store for all my electronics.

If you are a fan of British historical drama series, Poldark is a must see. Picking up where Season One ended, it is filled with action and intrigue, plus the scenery (outside of the "city scenes") is beautiful to see. This is one I easily recommend.

My husband and I watched this series together. It has splendid cinematography and compelling characters who capture the imagination and allow the viewers to immerse themselves in the 1790 era of Cornwall, England. Simply delightful!

Ross Poldark is a very complicated character and Aidan Turner plays him with such conviction and sympathy. A bit darker then Season 1 but still fantastic. Continue enjoying the adventures in Cornwall with Ross and Demelza.

The characters in the Poldark series are truly memorable. You will love and you will hate; you will hope and you will despair. This is a visually stunning piece of historical fiction. I cannot recommend this more highly.

As expected - excellent series that just keeps getting better. i hear some new characters will be added soon and so glad the good doctor was not rejected. Several cliff hangers to look out for in season III

Season 1 was good. It introduced an interesting view of the world through the eyes of a returning English soldier. Season 2 is even better. It builds on the first season. More character development and predicaments.

I REALLY LOVE THE STORYLINE AND CHARACTER PORTRAYAL OF RECREATING A HISTORIC MASTERPIECE. THE PORTRAYAL OF THE DIALOGUE AND VISUALS IS TOTALLY MESMERIZING. THE HISTORICAL SETS ARE EXTREMELY WELL DONE.

I think anybody would enjoy this TV series if they enjoyed reading or watching movies about this day and age back in the olden days. Really enjoy it, and can't wait for the new one to start.

Loved this set of the Poldark, season 2. You can usually find what you need at Best Buy when it comes to TV season sets. We can't wait until we can purchase season 3 of Poldark.

This is just as good as the first season and If you miss Downtown Abbey I recommend this. It has everything love, sadness, betrayal and even a great cast. Can not wait for season 3

Masterpiece productions are always done with excellent care and quality. I enjoyed the story line, costuming and scenery as the story continued logically from the first season.

PBS has continued to produce. The writing and adaptation is very well done. The characters come to life and are well played. This series has continued to impress
