Max Payne fans will enjoy his dark, dry sense of humor in this title. Everywhere he goes, he gets ambushed - like past games - so get ready for repetition. At least the environments are diverse. And while I listed the campaign's length as a con (requiring a disc change halfway through), some may like this. At times there are so many cutscenes it feels like you're watching the sequel to the Max Payne movie. The multiplayer is interesting, with bullet time and a death screen that shows where you got shot. I found $60 to be too rich for the title, but to each his own.

I first started gaming about 11 years ago because I was totally mesmerized when I saw Max Payne at my friends PC..right then I said to myself that I want this game. I hate Rockstar for making me wait for Max Payne 3 for 9 years but I must say it was worth the wait. I have played this game for 15 hours already and I just don't want this game or I could also proudly say a Movie not to end. Everything about Max Payne 3 has impressed me, the story line is very interesting and then the Graphics especially the cut scenes after every fight and then there is my favourite the Bullet time where you can jump in any direction while shooting the goons. Also I love the last bullet scene in every fight..the way it slowly pierces the enemy's body and using multiple shots to kill him in slow motion is simple Raw..this is all time best game series in history.

Max Payne 3 is easily one of the best stories of this generation of video games. A bit different from the previous games, but Max is older and more haggard in this. They do a really good job of making you feel that Max is a out of control drunk. The realism is great at times, bullets don't penetrate bullet proof vest, if you're carrying a 2 handed gun, and you switch to dual pistols, you drop the 2 hand, because you don't have a place to put it. Nice little touches. Control: 3rd person shooter standard, with the original bullet time making a comeback.Multiple aiming settings allow for free aim or lock on. Can be a bit wonky at times, throwing grenades is not a fun thing to do. Audio: Fantastic original music this game has. They could have just used licenced garbage like all other triple A games do, but they infuse the gameplay with a style that is dynamic to how the game is going at the time. So if your going slow, the music will be slow, as the action ramps, the music will ramp. Sometimes you will even catch it being on beat with your steps. Graphics: Fantastic! The game is on 2 disc and I can see why. The attention to detail is great. Max's shirt moves when he walks, you can see the progression in his character through his face. They physics of the characters are great, and the environments are very well detailed. You will also see Max carry the guns you have in the cutscenes. A pleasure to look at with some slight clipping. Overall, one of the best games of the year so far. If you're not familar with the first 2 games, this will catch you up in subtle form and it stands alone by it self if your not interested. Must buy!

I'm not an avid gamer, so take this review with a grain of salt. I loved the Max Payne series and was really looking forward to this one. The most positive thing about it is the story. It's truly like watching a movie only you're the one controlling the character. And character development is often overlooked in games like these. Not in Max Payne 3. I love that it's not too easy from the start. Usually there's a ramp-up period but I find myself dying -- a lot -- due to stupid mistakes. I see this as a good thing because it makes it more real. Yes, there's a health bar, but it's very unforgiving. The one negative I find is probably by design. I find it confusing at times. Some of the cut scenes introduce way too many characters all at once, the camera jerks around, and time speeds up or slows down. It's hard to follow the dialog after having just been in a firefight for your life. And during the actual game play, you can be so inundated with enemies, weapon choices, innocents to avoid, lights flashing as if in a disco, and your partner talking to you non-stop -- I've gotten turned around more than a few times and dead just because I didn't realize someone was behind me. Whlie some might say it's a positive because it helps to make the whole thing more realistic, I feel it detracts from the game-play a little too much. All and all, it's a slow progression for me, but a lot of fun. I haven't tried multiplayer.

I loved the story of this game. I felt like it was too short and left me wanting more. Definitely worth it. I liked how you could curve the bullet. The story has a nice flow to it. Plenty of action.

Overall Max Payne three is a very successful game. While I never played the first or second game I never felt behind or lacking in knowledge while playing. The campaign has a great mix of environments even if the weapons and enemies get a little bit repetitive. As for the multiplayer i found it enjoyable however I am personally not a fan of the third-person multiplayer experience. If you are then this game completes a full package for you!

The game is simply fun and is going to be a really hard 3rdperson shooter game to beat this year. First Max Payne game I've ever played and is really fun and addicting. This game is really hard to put down and i totally recomend it to anyone who loves the franchise or rockstar games or 3rd person shooters

The single player felt as if I were playing a movie. A 'Die Hard' movie to be exact. Lot's of action and narrative. Multiplayer is good but not addictive.

It's more of a movie and less of a game at times. Bullet time is required most of the time to get through the challenging parts. This should support game play not dominated it to the point of where it's a requirement in almost all of the gun battles. The melee moves are the most fun part of the game play. On line multiplayer was a nice surprise by how much fun it was too. Over all though, the drunk old guy fighting his demons is about ran the course of the story line. It's time to end the story with this game. This would be an excellent used game to buy at a discount.

This is a great game for a strong story and not having some of the silly interludes of other games that are primarily adventure/shooting games. Think like having to make big jumps or explore randomly...

It is a very good game! There is a great multiplayer also, I'm been playing it a lot!!! Get your copy you won't get disappointed .

Never really cared for the series, but this game was pretty cool. Mature rating so not for little kids, duh. Loved the fact you actually can still kill guys even after you run out of bullets!

This game plays just like the older Max Payne series with great upgraded graphics. Health does not regenerate, so you need to use some shots to restore your health. It was a bit difficult at some parts, so I had to take my time to bullet time to take out enemies one at a time.

Over the top action game, lots of shooting and mayhem. Silly store line. Overall would recommend if you like shooters

Max Payne is my favorite Character and games, but not Max Payne 3. Challenging Gameplay because it messed up on loading so many times that I had to continue restarting. Only a review on Storyline. If you haven't played the original Xbox Max Payne games then don't comment on this game. Max Paynes' character in this game is awful. The original Max would never do any of this. If you played it then I hope you know what I'm talking about. It didn't bring much of the originals back into the third. Its been years since the series came out. Game is predictable and the story was just another cliche. I have been waiting for this game for almost a decade and it did not deliver any closure or purity of gaming. Critics are getting lazy. It is not a 5/5 or a 10/10. Rockstar has officially lost their gaming touch. Graphics are nothing great. Sound is ok but just an awful storyline. Sorry for all the negativity but this game was a disaster. Bring the old Max Payne back. If there is another one, I'm sure it will take them another 10 years. No longer buying Rockstar games.

Get this game if you like shooting people and good action movies.

The Best shooter of its time, it will Blow away all those silly pathetic Call of Duty games.
