Customers regard Max Payne 3 highly for its engaging gameplay, compelling storyline, and impressive graphics. The action sequences and innovative bullet time mechanics are also frequently praised. While some players found the game challenging, the positive feedback on the other features outweighs this concern. The game's attention to detail, particularly in the environments and character animations, is a recurring point of commendation.

Good for PC if you enjoy 80s cop dramas

I played Max Payne obsessively for PC and a little on the PS2. While the controls were not ideal for console, the devs made it work. The accuracy was forgiving(even in free mode) and, this is key, the reticle is always visible.
The key feature that breaks the game is the modern action movie feeling with 80s cop drama dialogue (which you'll have to endure over and over since you cannot skip cutscenes and will die easily). At least there's no slow-motion dream sequences =/
